I've had this issue but only in a few ROMs. The most impacting one was on CM Remix by JustinX, even when a call comes in the screen takes around 5 to 6 seconds to light up and in somecases the call is missed.
I've been using Mahdi ROM for the past few days and haven't had that issue again so it might be only in a couple of ROMs depending on their source i gues..

No wake lag here. Running newest DU with stock kernel (glitch)

Which f93 kernel did you use exactly? I thought I tried them all.

[Q] Which JB ROM are you using and Why?

Hey guys currently just stock and rooted, getting antsy for something new, but like to stay samsung based any suggestions?
Im so glad you posted this.. i was about to post a question on a really good stock based rom. I'm currently using the cm10 one and it works awesome so far no issues but i would like to go back to touchwiz.
Just that the stock rom has a couple of things i really don't like. Mostly in the settings but if there was a way to tweak it i would go back.

Jedi Invasion is the best JB based rom I've tried so far. You can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020994
no bugs or glitches, runs perfectly, and its stock based so you get the same look as before. It's also extremely debloated. Just remember to flash Ktoonsez kernel after flashing the rom.
It may not be stock based but I have always loved CyanogenMod and I'm currently using the Unofficial CM10.1 and the only problem is that the camera doesn't work.

I've tried a bunch. My favorite so far for both performance and battery life is AOCP.
I am not a fan of TouchWiz, but on a lark I flashed the Jelly Bean TW-based Loser ROM yesterday, and I have to say I"m impressed. I might stick with this for a while.
I really like cm10 but the wifi issues and screen wake up made me flash back to stock. Still trying to find a good stable rom with decent battery life. I would rather it have fewer features with no issues than tons of features with tons of bugs.
I'm really liking LoserRom everything works out of the box, it is fast, and the battery life is looking pretty good with KT kernel. But that's all I'm looking for right now. Stock based with killer battery. Check it out.

I have used many. I have used AOKP, LiquidSmooth, CyanogenMod, ParanoidAndroid, and ParanoidKANGDroid. I'd say out of all of them, AOKP was the smoothest, I just don't like it. On CyanogenMod, it would hang and reboot and sometimes WiFi was extremely weak, and it doesn't help that most AOSP ROMs are based off of CyanogenMod. I am waiting for CM10.1 to see what happens.

Is it possible to use a different version of the camera? OR do you have to use the version you are on? For instance I'm on 4.1.2 and like the camera with stock 4.1.1.
I'm using Slim 3.1 and I love it, I'm getting over 1 and a half day's worth of battery with normal use, texting, emails, surfing, youtube etc.
Using task650 aokp 4.1.2 with his underwear kernel is rock solid, so much customising and been getting retarded battery life usually 1.5 days with about 6 hrs on screen time. Plus able to use it for everything lots of calls, texts, navigation, wifi, youtube, gmail. Its awesome

I am running the stock JB ROM, installed by Kies.
When I had my SGS, I tried flashing many different ROMs but always went back to stock because I found every ROM was buggy in one way or another.
I also bricked my phone on a couple of occasions (was able to fix it) and decided that stock did everything I wanted, so I am sticking with stock (rooted) on the S3.

The unofficial CM10.1 JB 4.2 for d2att (ATT version of S3) has camera working as of this morning. Apparently photosphere isn't working, but that's a pretty unnecessary feature IMHO. So far it's my favorite ROM, and aside from having to tinker with the data settings, I haven't run into any bugs.
I'm running CM10.1 (4.2.1) with KT747 and I'm getting the best battery life and performance I've ever gotten with my phone to date. This also doesn't have any of the black screen issues or anything which kept me away from vanilla android roms for awhile. All the 4.1.2 ROMs I've tried sofar speak a lot to the future of android - INCREDIBLY smooth and fluid, great battery life and awesomely stable. Especially considering they're all still in beta, it's very impressive.
Only issues are that the camera doesn't work and data can be temperamental every so often. I'm currently at 1day 5 hours, 2 hours screen on time with 46% remaining. 192mhz-1728mhz with ktoonservative.
I'm actually gunna give Task's AOKP preview a try right now. I was running it before but left because of the black screen wake issues. I was hesitant about using the preview because of the call echo issue, but it's also present in CM10.1 apparently..
Guys, the OP states he would like to stay Samsung based.

If that's the case, serenity is my favorite. The one-handed operation features are fantastic.

Guys...I want to hear about the best of the best Note 2 Roms for L900.
Right now my vote is with Carbon (07/09/13 Nightly) - 10 our of 10. GPS, MMS, Halo, Pie, Custom Kernel, Ribbons, etc. It all works right from the start. Not to mention...It's noticeably faster than SlimRom, Liquid (which still has MMS issues), and PAC-Man (which somehow drains my battery faster than other roms).
I want to hear your Reviews.
This has nothing to do with bashing developers or downtalking other people. I'm not interested in that. Let's stick to the facts and provide proof of why you think the rom you're running is the best.
This will also give newbies a little direction in our world.
Lastly, this is an attempt to give ALL developers an inside look at what's really important to the end-user.

Yes the latest carbon rom nightly is very nice. The smoothest a d fasted aosp out there.
However, my complaint is wake locks.. It happens with ALL cm10.1 aosp rom..
Do you have wake locks too?

I feel the same way, but I don't have wake locks. I just flashed Carbon this morning so I'll report back if anything happens. Also, because I've tried LITERALLY EVERY aosp rom out now, I chose to revert back to unrooted stock, root it, install twrp, then flash carbon. I didn't want to chance having any GHOSTS in my system affecting performance. I'll report back later if I have any wake lock issues though.

Nice. Slim is a very close 2nd to me. I just don't like how the actual developers don't have an official release. I've been checking the website daily and it seems there is a SlimBean for many other devices except the L900. What's up with that?
Side Note: Did Plasma 1.66 fix the sound issues within the kernel?

I have been using SlimKat 4.4 for over a week now and the battery lfe is pretty decent. If I'm not playing games and just calling and texting I can get almost a day and a half out of it. It makes it through a full day no problem, unless you are gaming of course lol.

Thanks, but that duration is normal for 4.3 Stock ROM for example. although for 4.4 i think it is good.

Favorite ROMS ?

Been trying builds using the 3.4 kernel for a few different ROMS:
Validus : Success
Dirty Unicorns : Success
Mokee : Success
Carbon : Success
Nameless Rom : No luck
Pac-Rom : Success
Any other roms people are interested in ?
Nz
Thanks for your time! You have ported so many roms for our device!
A 3.4 kernel was one of the things I was hoping to come out ever since I got my Nitro HD. This kernel gives us the chance to stay up to date with all new features and even though kitkat could run with older versions, it would not be optimized.
Currently I am using miroslav's rom, which I believe in the final version is...final. The phone is so smooth and snappy. Anyhow I have never used any themes or complicated eye candy and if I wanted to be completely honest, the only thing that is annoying me in this rom is that heart pulse measurement apps are not working which is no big deal.
I would be inclined to try dirty unicorns again, only because of HALO, but I do not think it is up to par performance wise with Miroslav's latest version. Will need to find a couple of free hours to do that, which seems harder and harder as I am getting older, having two jobs etc...
The floor is set now to wait for Android L. KitKat is currently a daily runner in many flavors for the Nitro, let's hope you will have the time and mood to prepare some Android L roms soon!
Rom with performance like miroslav sphinx port . Every kitkat build for lg nitro hd just wont cop up with me and my nitro because of it general ui lag that affect even to the app even if the apps loading is faster than previous build .Miroslav's 3.4.0 kernel is great but you know even if the kernel suppose to make the device faster, less memory usage and improved battery also much faster but if the ui framework is laggy and not tweaked the kernel will still not do much. Hope you can build a rom with much more smoother ui. Thanks for all your hard work
Are you using the Stock launcher LG from LG G2 (4.4) which is included in Miroslav's rom? I think it helps in comparison with trebuchet.
Also have you tried enabling ART over Dalvik? This will make everything much better and closer to what you are looking. Problem is there are still apps that do not support it. For example the stock launcher from the LG G2 is not compatible (default trebuchet is ok). What made me forget about ART for the time being is that IGO (gps navigation) app I use is not compatible and I need it more than a bit faster phone.

Okay, let's see,
Validus : For me is the best, smoother than (miroslav which is my 2nd choice), only problem is some translation problems (in the lock screen everything is on portuguese except for the battery status), and the battery at beggining it was terrible(the phone was not deepsleeping but it eventualy got back to normal) and now in the end of the day i always have +50%
Dirty Unicorns : I really like it but my battery was draining too fast (tried for 5 days).
Mokee : Too many bugs for me :/
Carbon : Same translation problems like validus but not as smooth.
Nameless Rom : I think there's no version for our phone.
Pac-Rom : I liked the features but bad battery and no smoothness
Like @Mr.201 said, sphinx would be great, but there's no source tree for the rom :/
I mean no disrespect for the devs that made our KK builds, the only thing i can say to them is THANKS A LOT

Have used cm10.2 for quite some time, but started to get daily lockdowns on waking up the phone. Tried HO!NO! P930 V20f last week and haven't had one lockdown yet. Its Android 4.0.4 as opposed to 10.2 which is 4.2 but I am sticking with it. Its ironic - before I tried cm releases the phone had a LG update which gave me 4.0.4....but when cm10 and cm11 was in I had the joy of trying newer versions ..but now back to 4.0.4 again lol.
Maybe this phone simply performs best with that version, I don't know. Or best with HO!NO!

Your issues might not be ROM related, there are a lot of app issues and inter-app compatibility issues that will cause those symptoms. I would say to Backup and Factory Reset, then load your apps one-at-a-time until you have the lockups/freezing.
