S-Memo port? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I enjoy the Smemo app on the s4. Since the note 3 uses S Note to utilize the pen features. has anyone come across a successful install of S memo on the note 3? I tried installing the APK file from my titanium back up files, but it force closes every time I tried to open it.
I'm sorry ahead if this has been asked before.

Nope. there's S - Note and action memo on the note. but the S4 has S-Memo. I guess samsung made it different to accommodate the notes ability to use the S-pen. but I actually just prefer to type my notes, and would benefit from the features of S-Memo.

What functionality do you lose with non-stock launcher?

Title tells all.
Just curious what others have noticed doesn't work, especially with the s-pen. I know it wouldn't have its own page, for instance.

As far as I can tell the Buddy Pages are it. I'm curious to see other responses as well.

yep. so far only buddy pages are missing (I wonder if that can be implemented)
I feel stupid now. I never used one thinking I'd lose the spen and multiple apps.
I've noticed you can't use the 4x4 Samsung Calender widget either
You also lose draw-able screenshots without stock launcher. The first thing I might really miss. =/

Custom-shaped screen shot works fine on mine on Nova, even with custom DPI.
Odd, mine "thinks" like something is happening, but nothing happens after that.
Edit:
OK so it is working, saving the image...but isn't it supposed to pop up and key you edit/save it and then have the option to share it? Maybe I accidentally turned a setting off.

Here is a question for you guys. that EDITOR that loads when you take a screenshot? how do I INVOKE that?
when I goto edit it tells me to download an editor. I would rather just use the one that comes up when I capture a screen shot??
I'm thinking it was not included with Production ROM. At least, that is what I am running and it's not working.

im having the same issue as you. Cut out image is not working properly. Im on Note Cards V2.0 with Go Launcher Ex. When i was on JellyBomb it was working fine.
The images are created and saved, but that nifty edit & send pop-up is gone. Perhaps an apk is missing. I'll report as soon as I learn more

Not sure what happened to that thread, but I'll drum up the link real fast.
This should work.
Note, I believe this version of the .apk is from the original LJC ROM. I don't foresee and problem with it, but as always, use at you own risk.

I don't know about you guys, but the S-Pen works for me in CM10.1. Even the air hover and button function works. Pressure sensitivity and all the rest are fine.
What doesn't work is:
* Samsung-based S-Pen apps, such as S-Note and the popup note thing, as they require the Samsung framework. I use Papyrus (free from Market) for writing notes, and Sketchbook (free from Market) for drawing pictures as alternatives, no issues and the former has Dropbox/GDrive background syncing too.
* The sound when the S-Pen is removed/inserted.
* The warning when you forget your S-Pen and walk away.
Hope that helps.

Aokp + cm s pen helper + s pen helper = s pen features on aosp!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/eebkzugsm7ek12s/CM S-Pen Addon.apk <--- CM S PEN HELPER. starts a monitoring service in AOSP ROMs so that SPEN helper becomes functional again!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tushar.spen_helper&hl=en <--- S PEN HELPER WHICH IS JUST AMAZING!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyingbusstudio.snappadfree <--- HAVENT TESTED YET BUT SHOULD BE A GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO POP UP NOTE FROM TW!
Interesting...
Side-loaded first apk, now the phone knows when s-pen is detached and reattached but 2nd app (from the Market) is a little goofy. I can get it to either put a link to Papyrus in the status bar when pen detached, or do nothing. Neither is very helpful.
What am I missing?
3rd app is just weird, lol
I can see the potential

This is actually pretty cool. I'm on cyanogenmod and I hated how the spen didn't vibrate when it was detached. Now with these apps it vibrates and shows a detached notification plus makes the same sound when detaching(if you have the stock sound files). The third app is nice but it's kind of slow/laggy when you slide it out. I uninstalled it because it made my phone seem slow. If they fix that I will download again
thanks,
dump question, if official 4.2 rom comes out with the spen app for android 4.2, will the spen app be use on the CM 10.1?

MIUI is sort of a combination of the two. I don't know how they do it exactly but MIUI is the only ROM I've found that has features from both TW and AOSP.

Hello I am the developer of the first 2 apps
I have uploaded the first one to the play store now https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tushar.cmspen
And the second one was made for Samsung based ROMs so there were a few UI changes needed to be made. If you update it now it should work fine.

If you could make an app that let's me use HDMI out on the phone, i could say goodbye to Touchwiz forever!!
Both apps now working great! Removing S-pen now turns on the display and opens Papyrus instantly, and closes it when pen is reinserted.
5 stars, and will buy pro version.

for the s-pen quickbar, how does one remove the plus signs for unused spots or remove existing shortcuts, say if i only want to use 2-3 out of the available 6?

[APP] DEODEXED - ALL system apps

I deodexed all odexed system apps present on my SM-P900. They are bundled by /system/app and /system/priv-app in respective 7z archives. Obviously, they are not flashable.
/system/app -> sys_apps.7z - 203.43 MB
/system/priv-app -> sys_priv-app.7z - 144.58 MB
I also put together a flashable zip of the stock launcher + magazine, deodexed. It is flash ready, and doesn't require deleting the old APK's or their odex files, as it does this automatically if they are present. I have tested this myself, and have had no issues with it.
Deodexed_MagazineLauncher+Widget-FLASH.zip - 11.68 MB
Enjoy! T
Disclaimer: I can confirm this works on the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 (SM-P900), but not any other devices at this time. Hey, I was wondering if the magazine launcher is working on other 4.4 Touchwiz devices, if you know? I don't wanna flash it and then turn my phone or tablet into a paperweight xD
Thanks in advance

I'm afraid I can't say. I would have no problem being my own guinea pig, but the only other Samsung devices I currently have are an s5 and 2 s3's. I honestly wouldn't mind giving it a shot on either of those (I have a Riff box, if things go bad), but on my s5, the stock launcher has the magazine feature but the home app is called "TouchWizHome.apk" and I didn't see a separate widget apk. Kinda makes me figure the tablet and phone versions are entirely separate.
When I get home I'll mess around and at least flash it to one of the s3's, just for the hell of it. I've hard bricked my s3's dozens of times, on purpose even. If it works on that, then it should work on the any Samsung device from the s3 onward . I would be curious to know if the Galaxy tab 10.1 2014, and the Galaxy tab 12.2 have the same exact launcher apks.

I also have the 2012, but I don't think magazine ux launcher will work since it is literally double the pixels difference between the two tablets.
The tab 4 line of tablets have the same resolution of 1280x800, but the launcher for those don't have magazine ux.

Thanks for that. I do use it when I want to free hand. However, it lacks the text function (unless I don't see it).
I found an app that will add text to images just like the Note 3.
