Any way to safely remove bloatware WITHOUT rooting? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi All
Thanks to those who replied to my last thread I didn't have to root so as to have any app in multi-window mode.
My next question is, is it possible to delete or disable safely all the bloatware that comes with the stock ROM?
Thanks

A few bloat apps can be disablet but not deleted.
Go to Settings - General - Application manager and swipe 3 times to the left to see all installed apps. From there you can try to disable the apps you dont need.

How did you enabled any app in the multiwindow without root??
To disable some apps which cannot be disabled via App manager
Go to the App drawer -> click on the menu button -> uninstall / disable Apps -> remove any app

can I know why you don't want to root? it solves all problems and give you the opportunity to have a faster and much better phone experience
You will not lose any data.. only add root, is fast and super easy to do

You can do it without any root. You just have to edit the apk in order to make it work with multiwindow.. There was an app here on xda that modifies the apk, so you only need to download the apk from whatsapp site (not the market), edit it, and install.. All should be fine

n few other apps too
hw can i do it
i found few apps where i didnt have to root but the were available fr multiwindow
but only whatsapp is giving the trouble its not getting installed
i found those apps here

May i ask why you wanna use whatsapp in multiview? I tried it and its useless, the whole multiview is useless in my opinion, oke its nice to annoy ipnone owners
i use whatsapp very often
so if its available in multiwindow
i can workout easily
I think we just have to wait on the app devs to develop apps that can properly handle multi view.
Lord knows some are still not fully 4.1.2 friendly and worse with 4.2 on the nexus.
Whats app is in bad need of some updates. For example: scrolling is awful... even on 4.2
So I say we just have to wait.

[Q] How to edit add unlisted app to the sidebar " unrooted " ?

Hello ,
i am on N7100XXALJ3 official rom without root
i would like to add some other apps i need to the sidebar
can't add any , and i can't drag and drop apps on it
please help i need it almost urgent
how to add another apps i need to quickly use it
Search for the xposed framework mod then get the multiwindow module for it.
This is by far the safest and easiest way to do it and you'll get ALL your apps available to add to the multi window list.
You must be rooted.

All the mods I've seen require root, but if there's a specific app you need to work in multi window, I'd suggest contacting the developer so they can add that feature. It's apparently just a few new lines of code they need to add to their app.
Good luck

Contact the developers of the apps you want to multi window and then they will have native support. Anything else would be a hack requiring root.

[APP] Multi Window Manager 1.3.1

HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING THE VIDEO TO SEE HOW TO USE THIS
THIS APP REQUIRES JB 4.1.2 & ROOT ACCESS
If you don't want to root, or don't have JB 4.1.2, check out Multi Window Shortcuts
Samsung has added a new multi window feature to a few of their Jelly Bean devices. However...there is only a limited set of apps compatible with this new feature.
Using this Multi Window Manager, you can enable ANY app to take advantage of this awesome new feature.
Compatible with:
Note
Note 2
Note 10.1
GS3
Check out the Pro version for these additional features:
- Create shortcuts on your homescreen to open apps or web bookmarks in windowed mode
- Set custom window sizes for shortcuts
- Open multiple instances of some apps from shortcuts created through the app (This is limited by whether or not a particular app permits multiple instances...I've yet to find an internet browser that allows this, however there are many other useful apps that do allow it)
- Fast reboot...cuts reboot time to less than half that of a normal reboot. Phones (Note, Note 2, GS3) can apply changes with no reboot at all!
- Detect new app installs and either prompt to enable multi window, or enable it automatically.
- Backup and restore your enabled apps list
Big thanks to xperiacle for figuring this out and to thegios for the idea.
Get it from the Play Store
Get Pro Key
thanks!

Just to inform, compared to the earlier mw manager version from the note 10.1 which you created, i now can at least add apps in this version. However, for now, when i try to drag the program icon from the multiwindow bar, it crashes with the error FlashBarService.apk not responding.
I am using S3 with stock 4.1.2 rom XXEMR2.
Thanks!

ya the ROM is included, but can uninstall it because not up to date
so I uninstall it and download from play store
then patch it > reboot
finish reboot > add apps > reboot
after reboot > open multi view bar > edit > didn't show there > remove patch > reboot
and keep repeat the steps also not working
previously use multiwindow control apps is working, which the apps successfully can multi view will show (native) word behind the apps
but the apps I add using the multi window manager apps all don't have native word

This seems a little dangerous to me. Not everything in that list can be removed without breaking the ROM. A debloater should really only remove stuff that is actually safe to remove.

There's nothing in his list that will inherently break a ROM.
The closest you could get is removing liainformant or lglia without removing concierge.

It is working fine for CloudyG3 1.2. And there is no reason why it shouldn't: It just wipe whatever you need to get rid of from the system applications in a hitch.
LG is not Samsung but they still include some REALLY unneeded apps.

Basically, Optimus G3 is more bloated than Cloudy. There is another debloater which included Cloudy and Optimus G3 versions (not aroma based). It wipes (significant) additional aplications in its Optimus version.
IMHO, I prefer Cloudy version, all the way, and this debloater, which let you choose which applications you want to get rid of.

Eragon Rom 3.8 - 1 of 1 is optimizing

Hello,
since I'm now allowed to post to development-related forums, I've to open up a new thread as I'm a new user here. Sorry for that.
I did a dirty flash first but had some problems with the wifi. The Wifi didn't work after about half an hour, even if it was connected all the time. So I've tried a clean flash with Titanium Backup Files after that. I will watch if this problem is gone.
1) Now I'm getting the message, that 1 of 1 App is optimizing after every Reboot. How can i fix that?
2) How can I deinstall CM Browser, Nova Launcher (I'm using Apex so far) and the Sense clock?
The Rom is really good so far! Would be good to have the "breathing" LED back in the next version Thank you skeleton1911 :good:
The optimzing thing is nornal, its stated somewhere in the eragon thread. You can uninstall the apps with titanium backup.

Thank you for your response. But I can't uninstall these Apps because Titanium Backup can not find the APKs. What can I do?

I get the 1 of 1 optimising message too. This is normal.
I believe that there is an ability to remove apps using the Eragon updater app (just go to the 'Installed Apps' section, select the app you want to remove and click delete. It will warn you of the dangers with deleting system apps. Select OK and the app will be removed.
