Hi there,
I accidently deleted my stock rom backup that I made before going custom. Whilst trying to get s-off I changed to a few different roms thinking that my stock backup was on my ext sdcard but it wasn't My Cid is OPTUS001. Could anyone point me in the right direction as I would like to go back to stock to update firmware.
cheers,

Hi all,
I've been going through the threads and have yet to find a solution to this.
Before I root + flash my DHD, I would like to make a backup of the original ROM and HBOOT for warranty purposes.
Since there are no RUUs for 3 Mobile(AU) DHDs, these would not be feasible.
My Question is how do I make a copy of the stock ROM and HBOOT from my phone? I understand with a nandroid backup this would not include the original HBOOT. Since people are able to post their stock ROMs/HBOOT surely this must be possible??
First you have to root then you should use the "one click s-off tools" one of them will make a Backup of you original hBoot (don't know witch of the two but you will find it in the threads). After this you have too flash CWM and can make a Backup of your rooted Stock Rom. To bring it back to stock you must flash your Rom backup then you flash the original recovery, make s-on (with the correct CID) again and then unroot.
I don't know if there is an easyer way if there is no RUU.
But normaly you can flash an unbranded Ruu and tell them you got it like this when you bought it.

Hi
I have an unbranded (unlocked) HTC One X (Bought in UK). I recently received 4.1.1 update but I have decided that I want to root my phone. I have never rooted any phone before so I am pretty much new to the whole process.
I would really like to back up my phone as it is. I am not sure if it is possible to create a ROM of the current state of the phone and restore it if I want to. This is because my phone is still under warranty and if it goes faulty I would like to send it back to HTC in its original state.
I can backup my contacts, messages, apps etc. separately. It is the actual original HTC software I am more worried about.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Anyone please?
I have been browsing through the forum and I have seen few people ask very similar questions but no one seem to have figured it out yet. I have also seen many topics where people are struggling to recover back to stock ROM because they did not make any proper backups.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
So you need 3.14.401.27 RUU. You are on 2.17.401.x now?
Check htcruu.com, the UK ROM is widely available.

Thanks for the reply.
I have official HTC 3.14.401.27 installed on my phone right now. I have never rooted it or anything. That is why I am asking if there is a way for me to save that as a ROM or save that ruu before I root my phone.
Make sure you make a nandroid backup of your stock rom after unlocking bootloader and installing clockworkmod recovery, and keep that backup in a safe place.

Okay thanks. Any other way to make a copy of stock kernel and recovery too?
i believe there are links to stock kernels and stock recoveries. there's also a thread to go back from custom rom to stock rom if ever you change your mind

Yup I have been reading that.
But it says that:
These instructions require that you have one of the ICS hboot versions in order to work (1.12.0000 or lower). If you have one of the new JB hboots 1.28, 1.31 or 1.33 there is currently no way to return to stock until a JB ruu is released for your device.
After checking my phone, it seems like I have 1.33. It seems like there is no way for my phone to get back to stock at the minute. That is why I was asking if there is anything else I can do to make it possible before I actually root my phone.
Hello,
I am on ARHD and my getvar version-main was 1.26.781.2 and I was received information that jelly bean for my region has been released and so i tried to revert it back to original stock rom...i followed this guide http://www.flow-wolf.net/2012/10/htc-one-x-perfect-guide-for-beginners.html and flashed the PJ46IMG file after which my version changed to 2.17.781.3...now i cant find RUU to revert it back to original nor any other method to update my HBoot
Please help..i have read most of the threads and tried all tools and all..but to no avail...if u can tell me how to revert it to 1.26.781.2 i can easily go back to original and upgrade via OTA and get the update.
Thanks and cheers..!!
P.S- if anybody from NZ having a backup of their stock rom it would be really great to upload it..!!
Here is a link to a collection of nandroid backups, make sure you change the recovery back to stock when flashing ota's
recently i've been trying to return back to my old stock rom and i cant find it. my version is 2.17.111.3 and cid t-mob 101..... anyways i couldn't find RUU but i found nandroid backup??? Can I return to stock from this??? SOMEONE HELP!!! I REALLY NEED MY SENSE BACK!!!!
Yes, might also want to install the stock recovery afterwards.
You're in luck, I beleive there was at least one other person trying to return to stock and I'm pretty sure they posted on this forum.
I want too restore the stock rom.
Hey Guys,
I'm in a bit of a pickle! + I'm a newbie (with some background knowledge - i know how to flash, use cmd etc.)
I want to unroot my One X back to the original stock rom, how it was like when i got it out of the box!
Now i have currently CWM + Insertcoin
I installed a nandroid backup, but it failed, as in (No Wifi+No Mobile Network)
So thats why i went on to install a custom rom so my phone could work for now.
MY PHONE
S-ON
CID: OPTUS001
HBOOT: 1.36
Radio: 5.1204.162.29
Main Ver: 3.14.980.27
Now the issue.....
So as i said before, i want to go back to stock, so i can receive the OTA updates.
The real problem is that the latest RUU i can find for my One X is:
" RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_Optus_AU_1.29.980.11_Radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260560_signed "
So since my version is updated to JB 3.14 i need that RUU, so the real question is does any have
HTC ONE X OPTUS JB 3.14 RUU ??????
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
Also....
>I have also tried running the customRUU to install the ICS RUU but.... NO LUCK! I got an invalid Error [156]
Anybody know how to fix that?? if that is the only way?
>Nandroid - FAIL
I would just like to be back at original stock rom, with no root, no nandroid, anything!! PLEASE HELP :'(
Another panic button...
You have no wifi/mobile network because you have a kernel on device that does not match the modules included on your ROM.
Use this untouched nandroid to get back to stock, make sure your flash boot.img 3 times for my favor.

But now that i have the nandroid working, how can i unroot and go back to stock how it came out of the box, so basically no CWM and i can get OTA updates.
What do i do after installing the nandroid?
Thanks

Read the FAQ in that thread.
In case, recovery is the same across Official ROM despite vary CIDs.
