Hi,
After upgrading to CM11 M5 my 3G doesn't work anymore. This used to work fine with M4. I have restored stock and then gone back to CM11 but still no sucess. Restoring EFS with FreeGee didn't work either.
I have restored M4 and 3G works again.
Does anybody have the same problem? Should I post at the CM forum?
I have the same issue, although I do get LTE, just no xG. Haven't gotten it resolved yet as I was dumb and didn't backup my M4 before flashing.

Had the same issue. Simply toggled the mobile data enabled and changed late to 3g then back to lte. That fixed it for me

I have tried to toggle on/off, different settings, reboot, restore EFS, but no success.
I guess I'll wait for M6 and see if it works then.
Yes, LTE & WiFi are functioning for me, but no 3G.
In the past when similar things have happened (data or gps issues); I've had to make a backup in recovery, install a stock rom, update PRL, then restore CM backup. This will usually fix the data issues.

Using stock was the way I got 3G and GPS to work in the past. LTE works great on stock but I have never seen it work on CM.
LTE has worked for me on CM11 since M4 at least. M4 ran flawless for me, but I did a clean install of it because I'd been on a nightly before that.

About a week ago my just wifi and tether stopped working.
What happens:
When attempting to "toggle on" toggle will switch from on then back to off after several minutes sometimes the toggle will grey out
Things I have done to try to fix it:
-Factory data reset
-Reflashed ROM
-Flashed different kernals
-Flashed different radios
-Flashed different ROMS everything from cm7 to cm10 and sense based roms
Additional info:
Wifi and tether were working the night before, my battery was low so my phone died with tether still on. I plugged it in and left it alone until the next morning
ROM I was using at the time: Andromadus Mimicry 1.5 w Aero14

Are you using Tasker or anything to control wifi? And have you checked wifi on other devices, meaning have you confirmed your router is actually working? And have you restored wifi passwords using titanium? I have broken wifi restoring wifi data.

No, I still had the problem no matter what rom I used even before I could install any apps. I've checked on two different wifi networks that were confirmed to be working. My problem is my wifi won't even switch on to check for networks.

Was that no to all questions including restoring from titanium? If so, then I would say it's hardware related. If it was just a setting then flashing a new rom would fix it.

I'm no developer, so I don't claim to understand how all those things work. So maybe someone has more info that would help. But generally if something that did work just quits it means something broke.

If the wifi *never* works, it may be that your kernel driver for the wifi device is either not installed or doesn't match the current kernel. If it works some of the time then fails, it's probably broken hardware.
Fixing the kernel problem means you'll need to find a kernel update zip and flash it in recovery. See the dev forum to find one

That could be potentially great news! Is there a certain kernel I should be looking for?
The only ones I've seen are for the radio and for performance.

Gotta ask, but what radio are you using now? Flashing a rom will install the latest kernel...
Also be sure you are s-off hence flashing aeros kernel while only HTC dev unlocked will bork your wifi. What rom are you running btw?

do you have a nandroid backup?it does just use the back up,if you dont have a back up and you fix your problem, always is a good idea to make a nandroid back up.

Yeah I always backup before any changes. Tried restoring backups but it was a no go.
Went from NoWizAOSPMod to Illusion Rom, and reverted back to NoWiz due to no 4G or working GPS, however now I can't get 4G or any GPS signal on NoWiz? I did a clean flash of Illusion(Factory Reset, Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache). Any clue where I went wrong?
Try updating PRL and Profile in system settings.

did that, no luck. I restored NoWizAOSP from a TWRP backup I made when everything was working fine so I'm wondering if I have to flash back to stock using ODIN?

Try going back to the TW ROM, get a gps fix and LTE then immediately dial ##72786#. This will cause the Hands free Activation to run which will update your PRL and Profile. Verify that gps and LTE are still working then you should be able to restore your AOSP and both gps and LTE should stick after the restore. That's how it worked for me.

I'm on the latest CM 11 nightly and for some reason my phone won't send any texts. they fail every time. I know it isn't an issue with the nightly since I tried to install an older nightly that I knew worked but they wouldn't send on that one either (even though they had before the update). I've tried a fresh install, but still no dice. does anyone know what this could be? is it VPN or SIM related by chance?

you may want to wipe/factory data reset and flash or restore a tw rom. then update profile and PRN and try texting then.
if everything works, wipe and reinstall cm11
I flashed the Super Nexus ROM on my Optimus g, and now I can't seem to get a GPS lock. After using FasterGPS, I can get a triangulation, but after trying to actually navigate on GPS, it's always miles off and doesn't update more than once per few minutes.
Has anybody else had this problem with other ROMs?

I had this same exact issue today. My fault for not fully testing the rom before trying to use as a daily driver. I was late to an important meeting.thanks to not having gps.
For now, I reverted back to stock from a TWRP backup, which seems to have no gps issues. I really want to go back to a Kitkat rom, but wondering is this s Supernexus thing or something I can avoid by flashing supernexus over my working stock rom (updated PRL).

Apparently this is an issue with all AOSP roms. Sometimes, the GPS just doesn't work. This can be fixed by flashing back the stock rom, getting a GPS lock, then restoring (or reflashing) your AOSP rom. I'm running CM11 now, and after fixing my GPS (which I did on SuperNexus), I haven't had it break after about 3 nightlies and the Milestone 4 flash.
Running AOKP KK 4.4.2, I made a full backup of my system using CWM Recovery 6.0.4.7. I reinstalled stock ROM 4.2.2 10.3.1.A.2.67 to check for upgrades. (Sony removed all 4.3 upgrades for the C6506.
After that, I reflashed the boot.img, and restored my backup. On boot, the cell signal was "No Service". Looking at status, no Baseband, No IMEI, and no service.
Only way around it was to restore the stock ROM and then do a clean install of AOKP. I have been unable to restore a CWM backup.
I had my charger plugged in during both backup and restore. While I did read there was a bug with CWM and chargers, before I try this again, does anyone here have a suggestion or workaround? Be a shame not to be able to use Backup/Restore.
Thank you.
I have same issue after restoring back obtained by CWM for AOKP ROM 4.4 kitkat network is lost......best way is to restore the backup first and get all the data and apps in place .....................
And then dirty flash the AOKP ROM zip and gapps you will get the network back.
This will get you all your apps and data back ...some of the data is lost like progress in temple run so also back up all apps and data by Titanium backup. Apps can also be restored with data if something is missing.

Seems awful kludgy. I am glad to know there is a problem, but this workaround is good to know. I still think the bug portends something more serious. For example, I lose my home screen settings (I only backup user apps). Oh well.
Thanks and keep posted if you learn more.
So, which baseband worked fine, and what do you currently have installed on your phone?
Btw, you you can flash the baseband only part of the ftf...
And I hate that my 6506 reports that it's a 6503... I should do something about that.

Sony only publishes open source AOSP for the 6XX3 models. The 6502, 6503, and 6506 have identical hardware except for radio frequencies supported. So any AOSP flavor will cause slight loss of functionality in terms of frequencies covered.
I tried reflashing just the baseband after this issue. It did not help. For me (although I did not try the dirty flashing method yet), the only thing that worked was to reinstall clean AOKP on top of clean Sony Firmware. Anything with a backup and restore resulted in no baseband/IMEI.
When I do a restore I always do a full wipe first, then install system (+ gapps if wanted), then restore data only. Maybe this would work?!
THAT is a good suggestion

Kudos for your suggestion. I went from stock --> unloick bootloader --> install boot.img --> install custom ROM zips and Gapps --> restore DATA only using CWM Recovery. On first boot, everything is fine. Baseband, IMEI shows fine.
Thank you again. this is a terrific solution and should be pinned. (@MOD). Cheers.:cyclops:
