Successfully rooted my device and went onto flashing cwm for it.
used recovery manager as suggested by many users.
recovery manager app deleted the stock recovery and did not flash anything else in its place
So...
No recovery
Holding Vol up & down buttons dont take me to Recovery or fastboot mode.
the phone simply reboots.
Tried flashing the recovery with adb by command prompt
but the device simply doesnt reboot into fastboot mode.

As far as CWM works properly, connect phone to your computer and "mount usb storage" you can install a recovery that provides "reboot to download mode"
In case you have Samsung i8552 as i read in your profile info this --> CWM 6.0.4.7 flashable ZIP is the latest recovery for your phone.
Question: Have you tried entering "DOWNLOAD" mode manually by pressing "Vol down + home + power" while device is turned off?
in download mode my phone is not recognised because usb debugging is off after reset
used samsung driver and pdanet+ driver
only in cwm recovery is phone detected
using cwm recovery installed custom rom even after that phone enters cwm recovery loop
i had deleted cache partition and followed instructions for the rom
update:
after using kies, odin detected my phone
after that successfully flashed stock recovery
all is well now

micromax canvas a1 not booting to recovery mode:(

my android phone is stuck.
I tried to hard reset but it is not proceeding after menu to select recovery mode.
Its just not working only showing battery charging symbol ,blank ,battery charging symbol, black........ so on
can any one help me!
Note: Make sure you keep your phone for charging in Bootloader mode for around 5-6 hrs prior. I'm not responsible for some wrong Commands you try. Do it at your own responsibility. This worked for me but might not work for everyone.
Try entering in Bootloader (the one from which you enter the recovery)
Then enter Fastboot mode by pressing Volume down Button for selecting and Volume Up to press OK on Fastboot mode.
Now flash TWRP Recovery with
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Else
fastboot boot recovery twrp.img
Then try flashing some custom ROM and Gapps
(You can search for TWRP & Custom ROMs on Android One forums).

No ROM, No Recovery, No Fastboot or HBOOT ! Help Please

So basically what happened is that i flash a bad rom on my htc a5dwg. I could boot into TWRP 2.8.7.0 and flashed roms through ADB sideload but all gave me some error and were not flashing. So i flashed TWRP 3.1.1 img. Now i cant Access recovery, nor power and vol down button take me to HBOOT or Fastboot mode. Cant reboot to rom. Stuck at boot screen with HTC logo and the unlocked bootloader warning. I connected my phone to laptop and it does show up in device manager as MTP USB device but i cant use fastboot or ADB commands as it does not show up in the Fastboot ADB device options, Some help would be highly appreciated.
i am having the same problem have you found any way out yet?

No OS is installed. Moreover recovery cannot be accessed. Nor can flash it via adb.

Previously I was using Ressurection Remix treble rom which is based on android 9 pie. I went to TWRP and wiped the OS. Then I tried to install a new rom called Dot OS. But it showed error 7. So I flashed Vendortofactory zip within twrp and without rebooting again into TWRP I flashed a new TWRP image within TWRP by selecting Recovery mode. After that I cant boot into TWRP and as already my OS is gone I also cannot boot into any system. Moreover my device is not getting detected in my PC. I cannot install TWRP by writing commands in cmd, while the phone is in fastboot mode as the device is not getting detected in my pc. Really it is urgent. I will be glad if someone helps me. Thanks in advance.
What is the present booted state of your device? Are you in twrp, or bootloader. Most of the time you can keep on pressing the power button. When it boots into a message about unlocked bootloader, press volume button to select recovery and it will boot into twrp
You should be able to boot in fastboot mode without recovery nor os, maybe your drivers are not working on windows? Try different usb ports, check if the display says "bootloader" or something. If nothing works try the usb shunt, this device is literally 'unbrickable' if it's working properly.
Watch this video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DexLELi04XY) and then you will be able to detect your phone in your pc in qcom 9008 mode , then use qfil to flash ZUI firmware ,there are plenty of tutorials on the internet for that ,then follow the proper procedure mentioned in DotOs thread for flashing the new rom .
Hope it helped .
If you don't want to flash the firmware and all long process just follow the following steps
Enter in to the boot loader make sure you installed all the drivers in to pc then open cmd windows in adb fastboot folder and enters the following cmd into the cmd
Fastboot -i 0x2b4c devices this will detect your device
After that enter
Fastboot -i0x2b4c flash recovery recovery name.img
And boom you are good to go flash the rom of your choice and enjoy
For this process you need following files
Adb and fastboot devices
Drivers of zuk z2
Latest recovery and place revovery image file into the adb and fastboot folder if you are confused about anything pm me i am not the expert but i faced simillar problem and solved by this method

This assumes u have upgraded bootloader to 4.4 kernal.
U can still boot into twrp.. When the phone is booting up press vol up key and select recovery.. From there boot into twrp. There select f2v or v2f .. Then flash twrp which u want to flash.. Reboot to recovery.. U will get promp no os installed.. Ignore and reboot to recovery . Then again d9 f2v or v2f depending on what rom to install.. Again reboot to recovery... Then flash rom of ur choice.
This procedure is needed when changing from vendor to factory and vice versa.

How to stop Stock ROM overwriting the Custom Recovery?

I was trying to flash a Custom Recovery(TWRP) on my Friend's phone(Realme 3) It was officialy supported by TWRP and was listed on their website so I downloaded the Custom Recovery. Then I unlocked the bootloader of his phone but yes a strange thing happened there after it asked for pressing the volume button to be pressed it unlocked the bootloader but after that there was option "Select boot type"(Not sure what it said). It had three options Boot to Bootloader, Boot to recovery and last Normal boot and also there was a arrow on the bootloader option. And there were some instructions something like volume up for select and volume down to move. But I tried every button but the arrow was stuck on the bootloader option. So I connected it to my device and used the "fastboot reboot" command to restart the device after restarting at the realme logo it was saying "You are unlocked you cannot be trusted" But after it booted normally and the phone was Factory Reset. After this in the Developer options the OEM unlocking was grayed out saying Bootloader is unlocked. Ok so we were successful in unlocking the bootloader. After that I pasted the twrp img file in the platform tools directory and put the command adb reboot bootloader and after the device was in bootloader I used the command fastboot flash recovery name.img to flash the recovery. It said sending and then writing in my terminal after that I used the command fastboot reboot and the the key combinations(power+volume down) for the device which used to get into recovery for that phone but this time instead of going into recovery it was in the bootloader. So again I tried fastboot reboot command and this pressing the power+volume up but the phone booted normally so this time I tries adb reboot recovery but it booted into stock recovery so again I tried flashing the recovery and tried using fastboot reboot recovery but it didn't work. And yes I know that after flashing the custom recovery the phone should first boot into the recovery but as I said neither the key combinations nor the fastboot reboot recovery command so what can I do to prevent the system from overwriting? PS: Sorry for long paragraph...
