Nokia X kernel source - Nokia X

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the kernel source code of RM 980 a.k.a Nokia X is already released.
To verify just visit <<https://github.com/KonstaT/android_kernel_nokia_msm8x25>>
And here's the dhacker29's commit
<<https://github.com/dhacker29/android_kernel_nokia_normandy/commit/462b008caa8192ae623695fed6a434fc51ba98bd>>
The first one is really fishy because the location of KonstaT on his profile is Finland(Nokia headquarters) ,also the kernel, mm, net were added to github about 1 month ago which corresponds to the release of Nokia X.

[Q] Wildfire Source Code Building

Hi all,
I downloaded from dev***er.htc.com the following:
HTC Wildfire - Froyo MR - 2.6.32 kernel source code
i think this is only the kernel source code, can anyone confirm that?
Where i can find the full source code for the htc wildfire? is possible?
I need to rebuild a source code with some patch for the wildfire, if I use the google generic one:
$ repo init -u git://android.git.kernel.org/platform/manifest.git -b android-2.3.4_r1
is then possible to flah the wildfire? or i need the nexus one (developer terminal)?
thank you all
bye stefano
The full source code of the original HTC Wildfire ROM is not (and will most likely never be) available.
They only release the kernel source code because they're legally bound to do it by the Linux kernel license.

hi....so here is the answer...
Yes,its possible and therefore some difficulties..the main problem is Nokia hasnot released the sources of the device or atleast the kernel source.so,why we need those sources...good question.because these contain all the things related to the mobile OS or simply rom.using the sources of nokia x we can create other roms...but good thing is we dont need all the rom sources, all we need is the kernel source and the device tree from the Nokia x sources.the device tree is the important thing that helps for building the whole rom...it works like a ATM card...we just need to insert it and press the code the machine does the work and gives the money.this migth look difficult but lets hear the good news....we have kernel source thanks to Null kernel dev.we can use those sources for the kernel and the important thing the device tree...we also have that, thanks to AOSP/vanilla rom from dev.but there is only one problem here and that is,the device tree is for jellybean and we are talking about lollipop...I will give you a example, now this time its like drawing the money from bank not from ATM.we have fill the form and stay in line and ultimately we will get money.the result(money) is same but the process gets a little delicated or problematic.lets get this clear...all we have to do is,to hack the device tree(from vanilla or AOSP) to build for lollipop thags it and after a little effort we will get the lollipop...hope this helps you....I think this is the way...if am wrong I am sorry....I am a nOOb

[Q] Compiling CyanogenMod CM-12.1 fails when compiling the kernel

A few weeks ago I started to compile Android again. The HOX is laying on my desk and collecting dust, so I figured I'd do something interesting with it.
I downloaded the CM-12.1 repo with the corresponding packages for the HTC One X (endeavoru)
My local.manifest file: http://pastebin.com/D6Uk8JZq
I've added a single project just below the remote's. (gorbi's repo)
This is the build log: http://pastebin.com/rhUKscRS
The building stops suddenly after a bit more than 1 hour.
Does anyone know how this is fixed? Is the kernel for CyanogenMod incompatible? Or my arm-eabi versions?
Thanks,
Tim
Have a look here.

New Nebula 1.0.0-2e-7400 Kernel in the Works:

I started working on a New Oreo Nebula Kernel, using the latest Caf for the msm8996 Series kernels..........
I started a week ago, I originally wasnt going to do a new kernel for the HTC10, But Device started to tick me off and the guy that I was going to leave it in his hands, was busy,
and I was bored and needed to do something, So I started on it.........
Let me explain something first, This isnt a LAYOVER Stock source, Meaning, I didnt not take stock and lay it over CAF,
first off that would be next to impossible with the 7400 series CAF that I used.. 7400 series is rebased CAF tag for 8.1 series kernel..
Stock source originally started with 02500, but seeing an update came out before they released it, they added in 03000 into their source..
Stock source = 3.18.63, which is 02500 in caf, 03000 = 3.18.66, HTC didnt change the sub to 66 but kept it 61.. Not sure why.. anyhow,
that is 8.0 Oreo Series, anyhow, as of Caf 05300 Oreo 8.1 Series started, CAF rebased that tag, First time I ever seen them do that..
Latest caf tag for msm8996 is CAF 07400 8.1 Series................
I originally Took the Caf 03000 8.0 Series and imported all Needed HTC components that allow HTC10 to boot and work.... I left out as much debugging and other un-needed HTC related crap
that did nothing but slow the device down.... I created a master Skeleton GIT Repo, that allowed others to take and mod to their liking..
after I finished with the master, I decided I wanted to grab the latest CAF, again 07400, and then I picked all my own commits again from master into the 07400 with a few manual changes that I had to make
for it to work right, Then Created a new master based on the 07400 tags.
From the 07400 tags, I started working on Nebula 1.0.0-2e-7400, 2e = 2nd Edition, and the 7400 = Caf Tag.....
I have working builds but Choose not to release anything on xda at this point, More testing has to be done.. If anyone is interested in testing,
then goto our Telegram Group, location in my Sig or our PureFusionOS thread..............
Nebula 2e is at its very early stages of custom mods.. So dont expect alot at this time........
I know this question will be asked, Will it work on my 7.x firmware or ROM.......
I used @flar2's commit to disable verify, allowing it to boot on all firmwares and ROMs, but Camera will only work on any rom with the 8.x blobs.....
So even know it boots on a ROM with 7.x blobs, the camera will crash unless your on 8.x blobs ROM.................
Reason be, cause I imported the stock camera from Oreo, so yes, it needs Oreo blobs to talk to hardware, otherwise it wont be able to handshake and just crash...
everything else works perfect from my testers point of view.. Some minor issues, but normally tracked down and fixed quickly....
This will be my Final Kernel work on the HTC10, after this I will most likely never work on the HTC10 again............ I am moving on....................
I just wanted to give one last thing to the public before I move on..............
ETA: Not sure.. Still testing............ Join our Telegram group to get access to test releases..............
Good luck
Great work !
Can i get one ?

Everything you need to create a custom kernel for Red Magic 5G

This is a huge improvement from the Red Magic 5G source which was released in 1 commit with no CAF libraries and many missing components to actually build a kernel. In its current status, one can download and immediately add features for a custom kernel without having to do anything but clone the repo (git clone -b=ten-dirty https://github.com/mrslezak/NX659J_Q_kernel.git RM5G) and add the various features desired. A GPU overclock commit was added (and it does work and has a flashable release zip), but if you want to build pure stock, after cloning, type: git reset --hard HEAD^; this will take you back to the stock source that builds with no modifications. In the name of development for this phone, complete source is being released early. Our very good AOSP developer completed his crowd-fund drive today and we will make the Red Magic 5G a phone with actual AOSP ROM support; he supports 3 phones in the official Lineage OS project already, and has finally met his target fund amount. Having AOSP source will allow it to be a useable and a competitive phone for 3 years. For those that don't know, Android Open Source Project = AOSP, it's making the device as it was intended to be used. We have developers already porting the gaming functions over to the device at this moment. That includes the game launcher, triggers, and fan speed tiles. Once a clean base is made, ROMs will be easily ported to the device. What else could you want on a phone with such high hardware specs? Longevity.
