Use an app called wakelock on the play store and select the first option "PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK"

NO that does not work
Not being rude but if you want just the audio why not convert them to an audio file? Then you can just turn the screen off.
There loads for windows/mac/linux and even a few for android.

yeah that is one solution but i really want to know how to turn off the screen with video still playing, cause i dont want to have both audio and video files separately for the same media file
This app has a play in background option which should be what you're looking for

Hi, all,
got my S3 and so far I'm happy with it. I'm glad that Samsung finally thought to add the notification LED. Now, if they're smart should do as Motorola did: come with a middle model for Christmas, named "Samsung Galaxy S3 MAXX" with a whooping battery of 3500mA and distroy all competion That would have been a waaayyyy bigger success than the Samsung Galaxy S4 that would have a larger screen: I think that (personal opinion) the screen size of a normal smartphone should stop at 4.8" (S4 would have a 5.2") Anything larger than 4.8", it becomes incovenient. The war of technology pertaining screens should move into a different direction: quality, so whomever comes first with OLED screen, gets all customers.
Anyway, speaking about my S3, I cannot find the following:
1. A setting that would display the percentage of battery on homescreen.
2. A program/application that would record live conversation of the phone (not from speaker). My phone has the original ROM (not cooked).
Any input is highly appreciated. Thank you.
This app works for call recording: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDMsImNvbS5za3ZhbGV4LmNhbGxyZWNvcmRlciJd
There are also several roms which have call recording built in.

I agree with Doc... flash a custom Rom... I know for sure wicked v6 has the feature built in, as I'm sure others do. I just really like wicked

CallRecorder works like magic! Thank you !!!!!
Im on cleanrom so my volume hasn't been modded.
I come from a nexus 7 2013 that didn't push out as good a sound stock as this note does.
If I added the Viper mod is it really that much better? Louder isn't always better because it usually brings distortion.
Would love to hear some thoughts on this.

Yeah, Viper increases sound and quality with no distortion. I like Vipers speaker optimization and Extra-Loud settings. Try it for yourself. You'll definitely hear the difference.

Not at all! In fact when you first load the app it will just display the 'Beginner' settings with just a few non confusing audio options to get you started. Of course you can change it to 'Intermediate' and 'Expert' if you want more settings.

Nope. Viper automatically installs the correct drivers for your device. I'll post a link to the apk when I get off work.

Thats the Note3 forum post about V4A (Viper4Android). Same steps you would take on any rooted device. I am going to set it up when I get home from work tonight.

Howdo everyone,
I briefly had an LG G2 at the start of the year (a week till i sent it back to orange) but i really liked the various option on the camera. ive now got the G3 but find that there is virtually nothing in the camera other than the basics? Am I missing something or is this on purpose? Is there any way of installing the camera app from the G2 onto the device that offers these options?

It's set to default point and shoot.. choose the three dots menu and there you can change things (yes it's not as functional as past devices apparently - seems to be a common complaint currently.)
LG tried to reduce their bloat by taking out things that most people do not normally use. For example I had a Note 3 which had 10-15 different camera options not including filters, I never used any of them expect for HDR mode. I'm glad that LG removed all of the unnecessary features, but they should have allowed users to optionally install them. LG also should have added in a way to turn off the shutter noise without us using tweak box.

I know, but I still wish you could turn it off like on the Note 3. I like running ART so I uninstalled tweak box.

I have a UK LG-D855.
Just tried it again, it definitely works on mine. You have to turn the volume down on the home screen, then open the camera as the volume buttons take a photo on mine.

Must be. I would have thought the UK would have been the opposite though.
UK Phones allow camera shutter to be turned off. - Most asian and other EU models don't allow it due to legalities.
just go to /system/media/audio/ui and delete all camera sounds. done. sound gone.
Since October I've noticed that whenever I call someone on my phone, the person I call won't hear my voice, instead they will hear some kind of very annoying noise. I've tried to check if my microphone had a problem by recording my voice with an app but everything was ok. If anyone had a solution to my problem I would be so happy .
