Long known fact, that we get no software updates. Nothing new.
But has Sony removed the availability for us to repair the software too now? Or why am I unable to repair my phone via PC Companion, getting this error message?

Repairing/restoring the phone via PC Companion will re-lock the bootloader? If so, does this mean, I will have Bravia Engine/X-Reality working again as I have unlocked bootloader.

Relocking won't bring back your drm keys... So it won't work like that..

Raptor is correct, you cannot relock bootloader using PC companion. You can only use Flashtool to relock your bootloader then use PC companion to restore your phone. However, that defeats the purpose since you can restore your phone using Flashtool as well.

I was wondering the same thing. I am on locked bootloader and using uhd rom. I was always able to do repair, but now i get the same message in pc companion. So i think sony must have done something with it. With that attitude i dont think i will buy sony any soon. is it the same with everyone?

if ur bootloader is unlocked, u cant update through pc companion or seus as it will detect u hav modified software thus will not update it..
updating through ota will brick ur phone..
unlocked bootloader can either updating their firmware through flashtool or relock ur bootloader and update through seus or pc companion..

WRONG.
As long as you don't MODIFY the firmware, you can still use SEUS/PC Companion.

That's nonsense, coz our main reason for unlocking bootloader is get the phone rooted, so it's out of question.
im from costa rica and my carrier is claro i have locked bootloader
and i check in service info, config and say bootloader unlock allowed and say no
because of this i cannot do the test point, but i install clockwork mod from
SE_Extreme_Tweak_Installer_1.8 my question is which rom can be safely instaled by this method i read roms whith stock kernel please someone give a list of rom can be safely installed whit this CWM THANKS A LOT
@efraincc24
You need to unlock your bootloader first before you install some Custom ROM ,only themes and tweeks can install in CWM recovery
And I believe any Arc can be unlocked with test point - my Japanese Arc was an early release one which wouldn't allow me to unlock the official SE way.
But with test point I unlocked with no trouble.

If you guys have the BOOTLOADER UNLOCK NO like I do. You need to get it UNLOCKED via the TEST POINT method.
It requires a bit of time and playing around OR follow the suggestion on contacting Jinx13. He will guide you thought the process and obviously for a small fee.
Jinx13 did mine for me and he was awesome!

I know how to do it with Omnius. I paid for a license and it costed me 15.80€, but it doesn't work with my Arc S (only Arc, I have to read before buying xD). If you want I'll tell you how to do it and I'll let you my account.
Thanks

I would download Flashtool if you didn't already have it and use it to root your phone. You can use it to flash ftf files without having to use the PC Companion and it has built in root functionality.
You can't root firmware .62 or above. Either downgrade to .58 or lower, or live without root since you're not planning on unlocking
that's also my trouble and i don't know why!!!!
i tried a lot of ways and didn't work so please help me also -_-.....

My phone has detected a new update, but via pc suite it says that everything is updated to the lastest version.
How can i update to the lastest version via pc suite?
My phone is rooted, so via mobile it doesn't work.

You could try to go back to stock following one of the methods posted in this forum and after that, you can accept the OTA. Look for the "LG Flashtool 2014" thread or the one that says something like "how to unroot using pc suite".

It dependes on the update you are getting, I think that it won't always work as before, without you having issues with root.
As far as I've read, if you do a "normal flash" option using the flashtool 2014, you won't lose your data but you will lose root.

Sooo, some people (like me ) tried to downgrade their Moto G30 to android 11, ok, but, when the bootloader get locked, the problems start
My device is on an bootloop, "no valid operating system coud be found.", I've tried stock a11/12 through LMSA and fastboot, TinyFastboot, even Blankflash, none of these methods worked, I can put the device on EDL mode, go to fastboot, and just this, can't even go to recovery mode after bl locked what can I do to solve this? help pls

tried this, but LMSA stops at 50% and fastboot says Permission denied
did you try unlocking bootloader before? since obviously locked bootloader won't let you flash images until it's unlocked

The bootloader locked?, If so, the phone is totally dead. I'm sorry to say this, I tried many ways to fix it, but none worked.
If you manage to repair the Hard Brick create another thread, it will be very useful for other people.
