Sending MMS Messages - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I have a weird pronlem that I really need help with. I like to switch back and forth between aosp 4.4 and S3Rx 4.3 amd i have issues sending messages on S3Rx. Whenever im using any 4.4 rom I send and receive mms messages just fine with no problems using google hangouts but whem im back on S3Rx using stock and go sms I can't send any picture messages but I can receive them. I dont understand the problem amybe uts an incorrext apn setting on S3Rx but I really need help fixing it. I have the T999N for metro so if u have a t999n and use S3Rx and youre able to send mms messages please assist me. Ive tried on wifi and lte

Bump

It may be the apn. Check what it is when working and apply that to S3Rx.
You're not trying to restore old messages from one to the other are you?

Ive always restored my text messages when switching roms yes, but im gonna copy over my apn settings from my current kk rom and see if they match those of s3rx

Going from one android version to another often does not work well, especially backwards like you did from kk to jb.
Also, most aosp and touchwiz data are not compatible. If the apn doesnt work, try a clean install.

I Clean Install But I Have TW Backed Up, And Its Only The Messages. But I've Mistakenly Deletes My Backed Up Messages So I Kouldnt Before And Still Failed. I've Had The MMS Problem with s3rx since before I started experimenting with kk

Give the other suggestion from someone in the S3Rx forum a try. Try aosp messaging.

[q] sms help

Ever since I rooted my droid incredible I have had a continuous problem with receiving and sending txt messages. Sometimes it will work and sometimes it won't. I am wondering if it is a ROM problem or a phone problem. I was wondering if anyone could help. Thanks!
What ROM are you using, are you just rooted Stock?
How long has it been doing this?
And yeah, what he said ^
Could be a Rom or you're using or could be your phone itself. I recall several people, including myself, that had problems with mms on CM6 Froyo on the Droid Eris. Some people could fix it using an apn manager, but I could not. I had to move back to the Stock Sense with android 2.1 or a variant like XTR. If mms worked on Stock 2.2 for you, you could try using Virtuous or Sky Raider.

I agree with everybody's suggestions above. You might also make sure your phone is programmed correctly and that the ROM didn't change something critical in that regard. Dial *228 and select option 1.
Good luck!
Some ROMs also have bugs with MMS over wifi... if this is the case try turning wifi off before you send MMS

[Q] how to get mms working?

I have tried to get mms working on paranoid android & aokp m6. Both great roms but can't send pics. I have manually entered apns but still nothing. With P.A. There's a modded
Mms.apk but can't get it to install.
I was able to get mms working finally so no need for assistance. I'm going to check if I can get same result for my mms issue with aokp.

Did you use the voice dialer to open the apn configuration? because they're both cm based and I've used both and that's all I've ever done. Hmm, but since I haven't used either in a bit I wonder.. check to see if the right apn-conf.xml is set up for verizon users. If not, you'll need to push the right one to the system
I did. I did that before changing mms app. But now I need to see if this app will work with aokp. Because I didn't have working mms. Buuuut I'm probably going to stay on P.A. For a while.

APN Settings..

Okay so ever since ive been trying these 4.2.2 ROMS. My mms is not working correctly. Ive tried so many trial and errors with APNs and doing a whole bunch of trouble shooting. So i was wondering for the people on AOKP 4.2.2 (WhiteHawkx ROM) and for the people on CM 10.1 Custom (C13Kener ROM) what does your APN look like? If you have MMS working, or if you had problems with MMS and fixed it somehow, please share. Also i see you can put your own manual APN settings in GO SMS (The messenger i use) please let me know if you did it that way.
Thanks in advance.

Some AOSP ROMs I've tried had some MMS issues but they have work arounds posted. But you should not be having any MMS issues on TW ROMs.
What issues are you having?

I cant receive mms or send. Just sits on sending. Ive tried cm10, liquidsmooth, miui and a few others. Everyone does the same thing. Just sits on sending.

Those are AOSP roms, I think if you have a nandroid of a stock or TW rom you should go back to it. Then update profile and Prl. Also make sure you update to latest baseband and firmware. Test and make sure you are receiving and sending mms ok. Then flash your AOSP rom of choice again.

cm 10.1 (4.2.2) E4GT cant send receive pic messages....

Hi. I flashed over to cm 10.1 WILD FOR THE NIGHT but cant send/receive pic messages. Forums say to go into the ##DATA# options but my understanding is cm doesnt have that built in. Anyways, anyone know how to fix. Also, the stock video player cant play .avi files???? Wtf? Can the stock 4.1.2 video player be backedup with Titanium Backup and restored on 4.2.2?? Thanks
Did you have your internet and mms properly set up before flashing to cm? Do you have mobile data on your phone that is working?

Everything worked 100% before. I think I set the MSL files to 0/0.0.0...etc to bypass the Sprints proxies though....

You can't use key pad but CM should have voice dialer where you can say "open apn" and check your settings to be able to send/receive mms. Google apn settings for your carrier and try to change them to that using the method mentioned.

Just flash a stock TW Rom, update prl, change settings and then flash back. Most of all of the flashed users here have a TW back up for prl updating.

I see no mention of what modem you were using either. A jb modem on a cm ROM won't send or receive mms because it doesn't connect to the network data. Try using an ics modem:beer:
