Due to a processing error I am in a temporary situation of owning both a BLACK and a WHITE Tab Pro 8.4 Unfortunately I will have to return one of them.
Problem is I still cannot make my mind up which looks better as they both look good. So I thought a quick poll here might help me (and others) decide.
I use a white tablet with a black case.
i was reading your thoughts and trouble deciding and find it interesting that you cant choose. i have never even considered white as an option for anything like this. not my tablets, laptops, headphones, cell phones, etc... always black for me. one reason is certainly because black will show less marks and possibly dirt than black will and second black just seems to fit and avoids any confusion that i wanted an accessory versus i needed it to get stuff done. When i see red, yellow, etc.. phones and its not a lady holding it i always think maybe that was the only color available and they had to get it right then LOL
My reason for going with black is because I find it distracting when watching a movie to have a white border around the screen. There is a reason televisions are black. I am surprised the white border doesn't bother people.

Same reason for me for going black
White seems to distract me more, so its more comfortable for me to use the black version.
I bought white and the exchanged it for a black one because the back of the black feels smoother and nicer to me.

Black. Same reason for the distractions around the screen and will show less when its dirty...
The black costs at the moment 10 euro more
I prefer white tech because it looks pretty....lol
Black ever !!! with black cover !!! :good::good:
white is best , is something special eye catcher ,everybody has black but white make difference in the crowd
After a few more days use and since setting up this topic, I have decided to keep the BLACK one! The back cover of the black tablet feels better and has more grip. It looks more professional and possibly very slightly more masculine.
It seems that the black is favoured more, judging by the mini poll I set up (though there are clearly fans of the white).
Thanks for helping me out guys. Going forward: I hope this will also help anyone who is unsure on which colour to choose. Please continue to vote!
I prefer black phones and tablets.

White for me.
Black so someone doesn't think I have an iPad. . All my tab & phone are black I just think it looks better and fits me better. If you prefer white that's okay.

Seems odd to me to start a thread or poll to pick something as subjective and preferential as color. To prove the point, the OP did not even pick the more popular option, anyway.

When I bought my Note 8, white was the only color available. It didn't distract my movie watching in the least. You just get used to not paying any attention to the color, very quickly. It could be hot pink, and you would probably not even pay attention to it after a day.

That's really the main reason I bought black!
That, and I just felt like a change from my white Note 8.
I'm going for black. Bought it myself. Basically I'd imagine that the white pleather back will get dirty and ugly really quick.. On the other hand the black glass on the front will be a magnet as well, but it will at least wipe off. - My only pro for buying the white one would be that the colors would pop a bit more on it since I'd image a sorta "passepartout" effect from the white frame..
My two cents. Either way, it's a fine tablet, and it's not crucial to pick color really. Just go with what color you like the best. White or black. All my hifi and my telly is black, so white would be too odd for me.. I like it matching.
Hey.

I am the original poster and the reasons I started the thread are clear at the beginning. I liked both colours and was looking to be swayed one way or another. It worked, so in my mind this has been a successful exercise. I favoured and kept the black one in the end (which is the most popular choice to date) so I am not sure why you think otherwise.
Either way isn't it fun to do a mini poll to provoke some subjective discussion?

Good choice. White phones and tabs get annoying when you see dirt in the cracks, not to mention how annoying white borderlines get when watching videos in the dark. I work in wireless and I'd bet 60% people think of that and buy black/blue phones for that very reasoning.

What you guys think??? pros and cons on black vs white galaxy s 2
Its just a difference of color..but one thing I can think of is that white may show more obvious blemishes over time where as black is less noticeable.

One is darker than the other
The white has a glossy back. With that you can install ghost armor on it to protect it from getting blemishes.
the white version is gonna get dirty really easily..the back cover is rubberised plastic..all kinda crap will stick to that
There are no pros or cons. It is just a color and a personal preference. I doubt anybody here has both to tell you both sides so pick your favorite color.
There is enough hate in the world. Why can't we all get along here ...?

That's incorrect. I'm holding my white handset right now and the back is smooth plastic. It isn't rubberized like, for example, the G2x.
The advantage is that stuff won't stick to it, the disadvantage is that it tends to feel slippery.
Some observations people might be interested in - it's a pearl white color with the silver accents (including the earpiece grill and camera lens) The backlight from the touch sensitive buttons tends to bleed which cheapens the look ever so slightly but then again, I have then turned off using the Screenfilter widget. Still though, it's a sharp looking handset and I've received positive comments from co-workers.
I have both and for some reason the white model has like a yellow tint to the screen. I hate it. My vote is black. Although I think the black one would look neat with the chrome bezel the white one has.

I had the Black one and now I have the White and the one thing I notice is that if you look at the top of the Black phone, on the bezzel, theres a sticker there that says Qualcomm 3G and on the White one it says Qualcomm 4G. Not sure exactly why they did that..
Other then that, the White one feels more responsive and smoother. Maybe they fixed all the bugs from the black ones.
The vibrent screen with the White back drop looks stunning.
The bezzel on the White one has a polished aluminum look which I personally think looks better then the Chrome. But thats just me... To much chrome can look bad sometimes.
I personally think white looks more feminine. But that is just me, and not that it is bad. Same goes with the white sunglasses that I have seen.

The black S3 to me is a huge deal...I have an obsession with black technology...my laptop is black, I bought the Beats headphones in black, I bought the GNex, I bought the Droid Razr in black, I'm getting the Nexus 7 Friday because its the ish and its black, I bought the black Xbox, my TV is black (who's isn't)...My phone holsters are all black...I just like having everything uniform...and I hate that my phone is off and there's a huge black rectangle in the middle of it...I prefer darker backgrounds and themes but they look stupid with the white phone...etc...I was pissed when I bought the Droid Razr and three months later the Razr Maxx came out...feeling the same kinda way with this white phone and only a few months later the black one is scheduled to release...its a personal preference of mine...I have no problems with my phone, I just prefer the black and with the glossy finish it's gonna look great imo
man i would like a black one also! i got white bc i cldnt wait on the red, but damn just put all the colors out at the same time so folks dont have regrets :good:
Black is always nice. Screams sexy. All colors except the blue are nice. The red is a nice shade. Its like classy escort red, and not ***** red. The white is pure white and not some almost white color. And then there is the blue... its okay blue, almost looks grey though. My ex has the one x in grey and I always complained about how ugly grey is on phone. But that's just me. Lol. On a side note I love how the touch buttons fade away and are not visible like on all the other android phones. Nice touch Samsung.

I have the blue and I don't see how it ever looks grey. What angle are you looking at it to see grey? Only colours I see are blue head on, black or purpleish on the right angle.
EDIT: Okay, the back at certain angles can take on a grey tone but I always have my case covering the back (which is also blue) so I never notice that. I don't really like the backplate colour and wish it was the same as the front.
I, for one, am plenty happy with the blue. But that metallic black does look rather sexy if I do say so myself...
I'm sitting here needing a new digitizer/screen.... Probably just going to snag a black one since I have to wait until I have the 300 dollars for a new one anyways. I'll post results when this happens, should look interesting.

Hi,
So I bought my S3 at launch and I've been using it with the Yellow / Grey Incipio case since day 1. Just last week, I took my phone out of the case for the first time and noticed that my back plate was no longer white but now grey. After careful inspection, I could see the outline of the Incipio case on there.
I've asked other people that have the White S3 to see if they were having any issues. At first I thought it might be over heating but now I'm just confused.
Attached are some pictures with the phone in the case, with it out of the case. Also I took some pictures to have it compared next to my friends white S3, you can clearly see the difference.
I have the darkgrey/lightgrey silicrylic version, and my White S3 still looks as white as snow after 2 months (even though I have nothing to directly compare it to).
Oh damn mine better not do that I have the turquoise light grey combo

And that's why I refuse to ever buy a white phone. Don't get me wrong, they typicaly look great. I'm a sucker for white cars myself. Problem is, over time unless you've covered it with a full body skin or something, it will not stay white.
Its one of those "once you've seen it, You'll never unsee it" type of deals. It may look white but once you have something to compare it to, you always see it isn't white anymore.
Much like our AMOLED screens. God I wish I never looked at my brothers One X side by side. Now every time I look at my phone with any white background, it looks freakin blue..... :'(
Who cares? A: You have a cover on. B: you can get a replacement for cheaper than the case you purchased.

Hi everyone,
I am getting good deals on both a white and black [not the grayish one] one X, need to decide today which one to buy. I have seen that the white version is more common, also in reviews it kind of stands out as well. I want to ask your opinion on which one is better ie,
-more elegant looks wise, when held in hand etc
-gets dirty more easily, more easy to clean, would proove to be more resistant to scratches [atleast appearance wise] overall
Help me out here!

Someone just made me realize that there is not "black" version of the one x, just the grayish one. So its the grayish one that you prefer over white then? The problem is that i haven't held both of them side by side, so it keeps crossing my mind that the white one probably looks better! lol
I had the white and hated it. Looked crap imo. Got the grey and love it. Looks smart. Best bet is look in the shops to compare. I found the white showed grime more

The blue looks unique. Hoping it's the same soft touch grippy material like the N5. It seems, typically with cases and phones, that only black offers the soft touch/feel

I hope so, although not a deal breaker for me. I never held a white or red N5 but heard they were not of the same soft touch grippy material on the black which I still have.
The spigen and ringke slim cases were the same way. All their colors except black were not the soft touch. Their black cases are. I have a few N5, GS6, & N6 cases in both spigen and ringke different colors and this is the case.

Black is soft touch. White and Ice is more plastic, like the white n5. My source is a user on reddit who felt the dummy phones in Japan that was on display. It's possibly accurate
I got black in case it's the only one with the "true" soft touch coating as LG and Google did with the Nexus 5. However in Anandtech's Hands On they said that white and black had the same material, which is bare polycarbonate and no soft touch unfortunately. They did not get hands on with the Ice blue but I imagine it's the same.
So they should all look and feel similar to the Nexus 5 white and red, which means less grip but also less finger prints.
Also black seems to have the shorter shipping times in my region, looks like more people are going with white and the new blue option compared with 2 years ago.

I originally ordered the white but cancelled and switched to the blue after seeing more pictures and videos of both. The white one just looks cheaper to me. It's not that the blue looks more lux but the color at least gives it some character to help offset the plastic build.
I just went with Carbon.
Once you go black....ah nevermind.
Anyway, Phil at Android central said the material was a little different feeling to the 2013 nexus 5 but he wasn't sure if it was because it really is different or if it was because his nexus 5 was just so old and used. Either way, the fact he was sort of wishy-washy on it means it probably feels pretty good/similar to the 2013 model.

If you like Ice, don't be afraid to rock it. I am buying the Ice and I don't give a f*** if it looks girly to someone else. I would rock the Rose Gold too and it actually looks nice @EeZeEpEe. Blue is my favorite color so having a different shade of it is no problem to me. In hands-on pics and videos, it doesn't look bad. A commercial on a TV will look different because of how it's calibrated
