hello friends
I have seen too many users got problem using apktool for android.
I also got problem...
But i studied the problem n just tried to fix it & guess what..??
My thinking fixed that problem
Now i want to help you all
You want to download apktool & its data files ( dont ask me for that )
Also you need a rooted phone to use rootex & apktool)
Guide 1
Now the steps:-
follow carefully......
This fix is If you get error about Mydata
1) Download apktool & data files ( i have the apktool 4.1 armel version dont know it will work for another version
2) Extract it to Sdcard/*Here*
3) Go to sdcard/Apktool & install apktool4.1.apk
4) Open it Give root access..
5) Now in aptool go to Sdcard/Apktool & select any file( tap&hold for 2 seconds) & there will be a option of "Set as apktool data folder"
6) now use rootex or similar file manager & go to system/framework/ © framework_res.apk to ur sdcard
7) Tap on framework_res.apk scroll down & select "IMPORT AS FRAMEWORK"
8) Now copy framework-res.apk to your sdcard (via rootex) tap on framework_res.apk & select 1st option decompile all ( If you get any error in decompiling then follow next step)
9) Open rootex go to data/data/per.pqy.apktool/ now delete mydata file
10) Now open rootex & go to sdcard/apktool/ & use multi select option n select all files & folders & only unselect "apktool4.1.apk" now copy all that files to "mydata" folder (make new folder anywhere in sdcard )
11) After completing step 10 then copy/move "mydata" folder to data/data/per.pqy.apktool/*Here* via rootex...
12) you have completed all steps now no more steps just open apktool n modify your Device system files or any apk/jar
*+*+REMEMBER+*+*
This Errors was Fixed by me no one helped me to fix this problem or i not copyed someons idea (its my fixing style)

this tutorial will show u how to make your lock screen transparent to your ROM whatever it is..
it is easy method and I look everywhere, nobody post the method or the correct one at least
==================================
i will not go throw how to decompile and compile because there are many threads show how to do it
==================================
* decompile framework-res.apk from your ROM
* go to res/drawable-hdpi
* delete zzzzzzzz_default_lockscreenw.jpg
* place new transparent image and rename it as zzzzzzzz_default_lockscreenw.png
*go to res/layout/zzz_keyguard_screen_lockscreenwallpaper.xml
*in line 2 change
Code:
android:background="#ff000000"
to
Code:
android:background="#00000000"
*compile framework-res.apk again and don't forget to delete the necessary files and folders from KEEP
*move to ur device to system/framework
*reboot, ur done
this is how it should be look like

u r welcome mate
Thanks, looks cool and I may pluck up my courage to try over the weekend.
I have been wondering why the phone doesn't support transparent/translucent lockscreens. It'll be nice if there's an app that can somehow or other do that without having newbies (and scaredies) to decompile and compile the .apk!

When i get back on a stock rom, and i try to make this mod tell me if i am correct.
1. Decompile on framework-res
2. Go in Drawable-HDPI delete and copy next zzzz***
3. Go in to Drawable and edit .xml to 00000**
4. Compile with APK manager
5. Hit yes when prompted if it is a system apk
6. yes or no? when it asks if i want to copy over additional files that i didnt modify from original apk in order to insure lease # of errors?
7. i if i hit yes do i delete the two files i changed and also delete resources.arsc?
8. Do i need to sign it?
Also what should the compression be set at in apk manager? My is set at 9. heap size is 64mb.
If you could give me some feedback on this i might be able to get it working on my own, hopefully

No, I don't have RCMix Tweaks... In my case the only way to remove the recent apps is to modify the SystemUI.apk
I've followed several guides, but unfortunately no one worked for me...

Have you tried to decompule the systemui and DO NOT make any changes and simply recompile the apk, then push to your phone? Try this and see if the systemui still force closes, I have seen APKTOOL mess up a LOT of HTC apks when recompiling , try that and report back

Okay,
in this zip is four SystemUI.apk
each one is in its own folder, there are two sets, one set i made NO changes to the smalis, just decompiled and then rebuilt, one is a distro, and one is a little bit of a different way to use apk (but i have noticed it to work best when dealing with HTC)
try both, remember to set your permissions correctly on the apk after you move it to /system/app then reboot.
if one of the ones that i did not change the smalis on works, use the corresponding files in the remove recent apps folder
for example
if the no changes distro build works and does not casue force close, go straight to the removed recent apps folder labels disrto and use that one.
hope this helps you out,
by the way, what part of Italy are you from?

ok, then clearly the same mod does not work as it use to.
but atleast the recompile works(kinda)
once u build the apk, open the original apk in 7zip and open the file directory in apktool /systemui/build/apk and copy everything but the AndroidManifest into the archive of the orginal apk.

-Systemui.apk decomilation and recompilation method:
Required softwaregoogle for the tools to get them):
- APKtool (apktool1.4.3.tar, apktool-install-windows-r04-brut1.tar)
- an enhanced text editor to edit the XML/smali files with (i use Notepad++);
- *Root Explorer or any other root explorer out there (i use ES File Explorer);
- any archive utility that can open .ZIP files (7zip, WinRAR etc.);
- Windows PC.
*Note: yes, you have to have root.
Step 1 (installing the tools):
- Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (APKtool needs at least ver. 1.6);
- Download "apktool-install-windows-r04-brut1.tar" and "apktool1.4.3.tar" and unzip
them into a folder of your choosing;
Step 2 (preparing to decompile):
- In order to properly decompile/compile SystemUI.apk, you need to install the framework with
APKtool;
- Open your root explorer of choice and navigate to /system/framework;
- Copy both "framework-res.apk" and "com.htc.resources.apk" to the SD card, then move them to
your PC either via cable or via a software of your choosing (i use AirDroid);
- Put both "framework-res.apk" and "com.htc.resources.apk" into the folder where you've
extracted APKtool;
- Open a command prompt (Windows button + R then type "cmd") and navigate to the folder
where you have APKtool and the framework APKs;
- Type "apktool if framework-res.apk" then "apktool if com.htc.resources.apk". Your files will be
processed and the required bits will be "installed" in "C:/Users//apktool
/framework";
- You can now delete both APKs from the folder.
Step 3 (proper decompilation):
- Copy your SystemUI.apk from "/system/app" to the folder where you've extracted APKtool;
- Open a command prompt, navigate to the APKtool folder, type "apktool d SystemUI.apk" and
wait 'till APKtool has finished. You should get no errors whatsoever and your APK should now be
decompiled into "readable format" in "/SystemUI". Edit the file StatusBarFlag.smali with the text editor of your choosing.
Step 4 (proper compilation):
- After making the desired changes in the systemui.apk, it's now time to compile it;
- Open a command prompt, navigate to the APKtool folder then type "apktool b SystemUI". Your
APK will now be compiled to "/SystemUI/dist" (again, you should get no
errors whatsoever). DON'T USE IT YET!
- Being a system app, SystemUI.apk must first be signed with the proper keys else odds are it
won't work. To do that, you need to rename the SystemUI.apk you're editing (the original one)
into SystemUI.zip, open it with an archive manager then extract META-INF and
AndroidManifest.xml to the "/SystemUI/build/apk" folder, then run the
"apktool b SystemUI" command again. Your APK will now be built with the proper keys included,
and is now fully functional. You may "pick it up" from the "/SystemUI/dist"
folder;
- You can now flash the resulting (modded) APK to your device either via ADB or via a way of
your choosing (.ZIP from recovery etc.) or just replace the old systemui.apk with modified systemui.apk using esfile manager, rootexplorer etc.
Enjoy

(Note:this notification bar transperancy is Moded by mee)
Its actualy sense only not sense 2.1 only as it worsk on 3.5 too.
Also confirm it works, though I had to make a flashable zip. I had previously tried to use a file manager as soon as the new apk overwrote the old I was spammed with FCs (rebooting, setting permissions, and rebooting again did nothing, the whole notification bar wouldn't load). So, if you do encounter errors, try it as a flashable zip.

[GUIDE][poll-added][No-PC]How to sign an apk file & make a flashable zip without PC
Hello, Many we need to sign apk file such as :-
[highlight]1)while converting amrv7 games to amrv6.[/highlight]
[highlight]2)after changing icon/modify any apk.[/highlight]
[highlight]3)after editing systemui.apk or framewprk-res.apk[/highlight]
[size=+2]And make a flashable zip for upload on Xda !![/size]
[highlight][size=+2]But many of us don't have pc(using tapatalk or Xda app) or may be we live out (such as me) and leave pc at home!![/size][/highlight]
So we can't sign apk with apksigner, apktool# or 7zip!!
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
As we know
[highlight][size=+3]NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION.[/size][/highlight]
[size=+2]So, After some time I find a way to sign apk and make a flashable zip with our android without using pc or Mac!![/size]
''''''"""""""""'''''''"""""""""'''''''""""""""
[highlight]REQUIREMENTS:-[/highlight]
1)Root explorer (buy it on play store or u may have)
2)ZIPsigner (free)(download it from playstore)(or u can download directly by clicking here
3)any existing flashable zip (to make a flashable zip)
(u can download flashable sample zip by clicking here )[highlight][size=+1]*UPDATED(03/10/13)[/size][/highlight]
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
[highlight][size=+2]Process:-[/size][/highlight]
[A] Sign an apk !!
------------------
1) At first extract ur newxyz.apk by root explorer that exacted apk will be in speedsoftware > extracted > newxyz .
2) change/modify ur apk as u want!!
3) after editing that apk zip that whole newxyz folder!! This time ur folder will be in speedsoftware > zip/archives
4) Now from here u will need the help of ZIPsigner.
Open ZIPsigner > choose input > give address ur ziped apk folder.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then go to output and give address sdcard/signedapk.apk
5) choose key/mode as
Auto-testkey
6) press sign !!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
----------------------------***********------------------------
Flashable zip
-----------------
1) Download and extract the
sample.zip by root explorer.
Extracted folder (sample) will be in speedsoftware > extracted
2) Now open folder sample you should see two folders: one called "system" and one called "META-INF".
3) Let's start with the "system"
so open it:
In there, will go all files that what
you want to add or replace to the
system. So let's say for example that you want to replace the bootanimation.
4) Make a "New Floder" in sample> system > newfolder* ,name its as "media" *(make sure its aint in CAPS nor with in quotation marks)
5) now simply move the file in
their respective place:
the bootanimation.zip file should go in '/system/media' folder
**If you have more files to add, just follow the logic above; I'm sure you get the idea by now..
[size=+2]Hints[/size]
/system/app - all the system apps (SystemUI.apk etc)
/system/framework/ -framework-res.apk,android.policy.jar
/system/media - bootanimation.zip
/system/lib - libraries (*.so)
6) The other folder included in the folder sample(sample) is named "META-INF". So, [highlight]You may have to Replace the update-binary[/highlight] (if ur flashable zip is not working) inside the META-INF folder with an update-binary got from a zip that works in your phone.
7) if ur work with that folder complete then zip that folder.
8) now open ZIPsigner
-choose input
-Give address to ur zip u have created
-Give address to output where the flashable zip will be saved!!
(as explained above in SIGN APK)
9) Choose auto-testkey as key.
10) press Sign !!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
"""""'''''''''"""""""""'''"""""""'''''''""""""
[size=+3]CONCLUSION:-[/size]
working and installable signed apk file!!
&
Working and flashable zip!!

Link updated in guide!! u can also download zipsigner by clicking here!!
In many cases there is no need to change updater-script !! It can only edited by notepad++ or high end text editor for android 3.0+ !!
But any one add his/her signature in updater-script then that signature will appear while flashing that zip!!
So its important to don't change it if u don't want another's signature in ur zip!!
Thanks 4 ur support !!
Editing update-script is really necessary for flashing zips like pushing/replacing apps in system and you can add there an auto-mount feature. Anyway, nice guide. :cheers:
