OMH or RUIM data - Sprint LG G2

G2 used to work with Cdma sim out of the box. Now with the KK4.4.2 it does not.
It says "Service Disabled" on lockscreen, anybody has any idea about this ?
Also if GSM is unlocked, when the phone boots up, for a second the lockscreen says Service Disabled then shifts to No Service & finally it lokcs on to the GSM network.
NV data ONKY works if GSM is locked.
If GSM is unlocked, CDMA NV mode calls and sms work but data it says "unable to establish a wireless data connection "
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk

I assume that you made sure that the APN settings are correct?

well i replaced the whole build.prop from another working phone ..
but i still have " unable to establish wireless data connection "
.

If you have your phones SPC or MSL, Then connect DFS, send spc, goto NV tab, read from 39939 to 39940, select the NV thats showing below and see the first value is 01 or 00, if its 01, change value to 00, save and write that NV and mode reset. Data should work after that.

hi vinod ji,
I have seen your precious inputs in XDA developers.com and riweb.
really thankful to you.
I have LG LS980 sprint phone and its works fine since 2 years with GSM network. It's already installed SuperSU.
Now I want to use it with Reliance CDMA network so I have followed your instruction of NV to RUIM conversion. After doing this its work but after one call network is disabled and I need to restart it.
I have tried to disable bloated apps from sprint but not succeed. after reboot my phone shows Hand free activation message continuously.
I tried to root it also but I think its already rooted for GSM and because of that it is not going to root. Also I want to inform you I updated my phone with lollipop version.
Please give me proper instruction so I can use my phone with CDMA as well as GSM network.
I am waiting for your reply. you are only one who can help me out of this.
Thanks & Regards:
Darshan

Don't bother! APN has all to do with getting your data connection up and running, but nothing to do with locking on the network in the first place (which is a pre-requisite to getting data service).
This is between your phone, the SIM card and the cellular network.
What, if anything, have you been doing with the phone to get there? More specifically, have you played with the service menu (*#1973* etc.)?
What happens when you do a network search? Is any operator network listed in the result at all? Have you tried the same SIM in another phone that is known to work to check if it sees your operator network and with what strength? Have you tried in different places (places known to be close to one of your operator networks antennas, where coverage would be optimal).
I would first use another phone and look for one such place, with 5 bars signal strength, then try again with the Note 2.
good luck

hupe u can help me thanks .......
Are you sure the Note II supports the same frequencies that are used in your country?
I would suggest making sure that you have 2G/3G/LTE enabled, and not just 3G or just 2G etc.
If that's not the issue, then I would suspect your SIM is faulty, or there is a problem with the phone's antenna.

[Q] [Stock rooted 4.1.2] I can't set my phone on 4G (LTE)

Hi XDA members !
I need your help about an issue I encountered on my Optimus G E975.
I'm French, my carrier is Free and I recently activated the 4G (LTE) option proposed in my plan, no problem.
I then wanted to enable the 4G network mode in my stock ROM, here comes the problem !
The LG's ROM only let me choose between 2G, 2G/3G or 3G networks. My phone is compatible, my APN are ok, Free's settings are ok too... So I decided to modify the build.prop file to force the 4G choice. I edited those lines :
- ro.telephony.default_network (changed value from 9 to 10, referring to a Google Code thread)
- telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1 into telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1
I can now choose 2G/3G/4G setting and it seems to be working, but after each reboot, it doesn't stay checked and goes back to "2G/3G".
Can you help me please ?

Well, in any case, this is not a big problem.. You can also enter the secret code which i dont remember now, and force LTE, without any build.prop line. The problem is i dont remember the secret code menu.
EDIT: *#*#4636#*#*. Tap the first option, and scroll down. You will see a list. Tap and select LTE or 4G. Reboot and try if it works.

I have the same problem. The 4G option just wont stick!
I'm on stock 4.1.2 and have not changed anything - had the 4G option from the get go. I also can't access the "secret menu" when typing in *#*#4636#*#* - I'm getting the same error.
Been looking for a solution for days, but nothing. Talked to LG - they suggested to reset the APN and then do a factory restore of the phone if that did not work.
Anybody found a solution?

Hi guys!
It's been a while since my last message here.
Just back to say my problem was solved by a little OTA update which probably brings valid LTE/4G configuration for my carrier (Free).
Today, I'm facing the same problem but on the GEE 3 ROM freshly flashed. Things are progressing but some problems stay the same x).
I'll contact devs about those problems.

3G data issue after MM upgrade..

Hi,
I used Odin to flash MM image and everything is good, except the 3G data.
It will only turn on if I run "Activate this device" from Settings menu.
If I exit from "Activate this device" menu, 3G turns off while data toggle still on!
I'm not Sprint user and everything was ok with 5.1.1.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks,

I've tried changing many things by DFS, but with no success.
I think this issue is related to Sprint's bloatware and it's configuration on MM.
Because 3G data was fine with OJ1 then OK1 with same setting on DFS.

How to use dual SIM on H930DS with H930v20d and no 2G network.

Hi all, I flashed the update from https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/h930-lg-v30-european-market-h930-t3779076 and upon flashing I noticed that only the SIM that had data activated could connect to a network, I dug around a bit and found out that it was trying to connect to a 2G GSM network which no longer exists on my carrier.
I found no other tutorials so if you are stuck this is how I fixed it on my phone.
You need to do this every time your phone restarts until someone finds a way to make it stay like this
1) Open your phone app
It does not need to be the stock app, you just need to open it
2) Enter the following hash code
*#*#4636#*#* THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM THE NORMAL LG HIDDEN MENU
It will look like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then go to phone information
It will look like this
3) Change it from GSM only to LTE / WCDMA
You should now have your service back
i'm unable to go into Phone Information. It shows "This application does not work on this device."
i'm using Singapore variant H930DS. Revert back to Nougat due as i need dual sim to works.
If I only use one sim at a time, would I still have issues with the data connection?

Your APN is correct and enabled?
Try adding another APN.for your carrier (look up settings online), reboot, see if it acts different.
Try flashing your old modem in dev patched LG LGUP (modem only). May not work as it's Nougat and you're on Oreo now and for a "different" model number, but in Motorola your could flash previous versions. Not sure about LG.
Flash back to Nougat in LGUP.

Bought in USA, can do something to use in EU?

Hey,
I bought an LG G7 ThinQ (LMG710TM) in the USA, and i does not connect to the LTE/4G mobile data network here in Hungary. Since it's a T-mobile version i thought if i could unlock it, it may work (i can use my Telekom SIM since the beggining to call/send msg), but i can't get the unlock bin trough LG site, because it says it's an LMG710TMP version which is unlockable, but the phone itself says it just te TM version withouth the P on the end.
Anyways should I even bother to try to unlock it, because i didn't really find any infos which frequencies are supported by my own device, so it maybe just blocked by the software or not.
Thanks!!

It's not rooted right?
Enter the service menu and check the bands. If it says "SUCCESS" then that band is supported. If it says "FAIL" it's not.
Bands 2, 4 and 12 are the ones usually used with GSM LTE in America.

Thank you for your help!
And yes, it's not rooted.
I checked the service menu, the listed(pic1,pic2) bands are all working, at least it said "SUCCESS" when i clicked on them, and in Hungary they use band 3,7 and 20.
I set it on 3, tried to reinsert simcard and restart phone, and airplane mode etc,etc little tricks to get it work, but still no mobile data.
The weird thing i found is the LTE Carrier Aggregation(pic3,pic4). It says what is says on the picture and i can't change it, because it tells me i need to restart my phone. I did it but no changes, so it just stuck at those options. I suspect the problem is there for some reasons that i don't know.
On pic5/pic6 those are some infos about the LTE stuff, sometimes it said Not Supported Mode at the Mode Pref, sometimes it said Automatic. Sadly i don't really know what that means, maybe it will provide some infos to you.

Did you contact the mobile provider and ask them to add your phone's IMEI to their service?
In USA, some people who bought the LG unlocked international phones did not have mobile data until they called the carrier and had them register the IMEI number.
You'll most likely need to setup your APN manually. Go to settings-network and add APN info for your provider there!
