ROM/Radio for unlocked T-mobile s4? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hello,
Recently my friend gave me a T-mobile S4 which I successfully unlock using this ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068 )method. I aslo was able to install Chaos (universal) ROM and seems to be working fine, but I have a few questions.
Can I install an ATT ROM/Radio or I need to stick to universal ROMs?
Can I lose unlock status if I upgrade the radio?
TIA!

Anyone?

I've never tried ATT ROMs and haven't seen much mention of them in this forum, but I know i9505 ROMs usually work if the developer hasn't put specific device checks in the updater-script. I would guess ATT ROMs will work as well. You may need to flash a T-Mobile kernel though. Radios that are not specific to your device should not be flashed.

Why would you want an ATT Rom or radio? The Tmobile radio package supports more frequencies than the AT&T version. I am currently using my M919 on an AT&T mvno and my girlfriend has the I337 (AT&T S4) so Ive switched sims around on both and could find no significant difference.

Nice I did the same for bell, but the baseband is the same. Weird as I thought this device supports bell dual cell hspa+ which rogers doesn't have.
Anyways its attached.
How about someone putting a version of the at&t version if we need to flash back. Also anyone tested these modems to see if it allows you to goto the network settings and choose wcdma ie 4g 3g it lte etc.

Thank you for this! Any chance you can do a stock flashable Bell rom too?

The rogers and bell versions both allow you to specify the order for GSM, HSPA, and LTE.
Here are the menu from my *#2263#* service mode. The problem is, my phose is not unlocked ans I don't have the sim card to try the other frequencies and see if the antenna can actually connect to these frequencies.
With my i9000m I was able to chose WCDMA 900 which was not supported by the phone.

i have i747m bell Galaxy S3. I want to use my Fido Sim on it. Will it unlock it or is it different procedure ?
Is it safe to do so? I dont want to brick my phone. Thanks
It won't unlock your phone by flashing the radio unfortunately. Shouldn't cause a brick though.

The Telus Version shows I747MVLLE8 as the Baseband Version as well.
Also for SIM unlock you can probably search eBay and get it for about $15. I unlocked my Telus phone to work on Rogers.
would the rogers modem work for att model?
I was told that LTE toggling depends on the ROM, not the modem.

mine is locked to bell and they charge 33$ way to expensive.
did anyone actually try to flash this ZIP? it doesn't seem to actually work from CWM as it is not changing the baseband on my AT&T unit.
Like I said in the full dump thread, I don't think this is a modem dump. This was dumped using instructions for the international model which probably has a different partition layout.

We can get the modem.bin file from the Rogers ODIN package but how do we flash it?
Odin will not allow flashing a different model radio, so DD or a CWM zip will work (or mobile Odin once released for our model).

[Q] flashing at&t roms on tmobile galaxy s3

hey guys just wondering if it is possible to flash at&t GS3 roms on tmobile GS3 roms. i heard you could but just wanted to confirm it.
You can. Just DON'T flash any modems from there.
If I'm not mistaken, you can flash any ROM from any of the US variants. Not everything will work right, but it works.

Yes sir you can flash ATT. Everything works fine.

Flashing Different Carriors Roms: Successful vs. Unsuccessful

Normally I Would't Suggest Flashing another carrier ROM but For Some reason People have Figured it out on the Note 11 far the first time I'Ve Seen.So for my own curiosity and im sure others as well. Lets try to make a list of all the compatible non T-Mobile roms for the Note II.
AT&T - JELLYBEER
At&T - JELLYBAM
AT&T - CleanRom
N7105 - International LL1
AT&T - JellyThunder
If you are new to flashing, please dont be the first to try new Roms. And apparently no 7100 roms!!!
Ive read somewhere we can flash any US Variant Rom as long as no modem or radio is included. But I find that hard to believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If I'm missing any Rom's, will happily add to list
I use the international LL1 for the N7105. Works like a dream.

Jellythunder from at&t works great also.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Thanks for input. Now have to ask why did you flash those specific ones? Does it say compatible in thread or just flashed and worked

I know for a fact (as I have tried myself) AT&T, T-Mobile (obviously), 7105, and Sprint. Sprint did require a kernel flash (boot.img). Otherwise a modem flash is required (unless the Rom does not flash the modem, then you need not flash a modem)
Basically here is how it works:
T-Mobile : ROM
AT&T: ROM, modem
7105: ROM, modem
Sprint: ROM, modem, kernel
I would guess, Verizon would work the same as Sprint.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
EDIT: had to add AOSP kernels are not the same as stock Samsung kernels. Basically for AOSP kernel get the boot.img from your CM7/AOKP/PA whatever AOSP ROM for your phone (I took it from madmack's CM10 and applied it to the Sprint PA ROM)

There is a dev, Teshxx who is doing a fine job of porting international and roms from other carriers. He uses the rom for a base and adapts it to the T889. The N7105 roms are stock samsung, no carrier bloat.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
Hi there guys. I too can confirm this. The all us carrier deal anyway. There are easy ways and there are better or right ways. The easy way only really requires a few lines swapped and or deleted on the rom you want and the rom your specific device requires. I've tested twice. Sprint and att via testing the two ports done by a few verizon users . However from what we've experienced ( mind you this us s3 and not note 2) you don't have to flash or worry as far as I've noticed any radios or rpm as those are written to the partitions via your ota or flashing seperately ..And we also flashed different kernel. This is just more testimony and not saying I know any facts or that I personally port or figured this out on my own. A couple of very nice devs in our verizon forum shared this info. And now many are succeeding. Thanks and hope I'm not jacking your note 2 thread. Lol

Great thread as I was wondering which ROMs I could flash safely and which I couldn't on my T-Mobile T889.
What kernel is everyone using on their Tmobile Note II, when its needed? Perseus?
Also can someone shoot me a link to the modem they flashed on their Tmo Note II?
Thanks

Okay, so when you go to flash a T-Mobile rom you should probably update to the latest radio right? Also how do you flash radios?
Thanks

I would probably try but I reverted to stock trying to fix my GPS issue but it still would not work. It may just be me with the issues. As for how to flash a radio. There are update.zip files that you can use in the dev section.

You can flash other roms on both versions M919V and M919. Just use your kernel for YOUR device.

yes, after you flash the stock rom, before you boot make sure you use the KERNEL provided for your device.
It will work.

I have downloaded the T-Mobile Rom. I need as well the kernel for my device ? where can i get the T-Mobile kernel ? What if i want to switch back to M919V kernel where can i find that one ? After i flash the t-mobile rom+kernel , i should be able to flash the T-Mobile Roms ( wicked, infamous etc.) ?
Thanks for your help.
I have a question regarding my SGH-M919V as well. After I upgraded to 5.0.1 I haven't been able to turn on my WiFi or Bluetooth. I'm brand new to rooting and flashing and am just starting to understand the difference between bootloaders and modems and roms and all that. Well, my question is how can I fix my WiFi? I've read a ton of forums where people have similar issues and there are fixes, but often for the american Galaxy S4 (as far as I understand it). Should I downgrade to 4.2.2 to fix WiFi? Is there a kernel I can install that will fix it?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate anyone who respond's patience,
D
Based on my research, that's a Canadian S4. They're intended for a subset of Canadian mobile providers: in this case, Wind, Mobilicity, Videotron, and Eastlink. There is also an SGH-I337M (this time a variant on the AT&T version) intended for use with Rogers, Telus, and Bell.

Lte on non-lte phone

Hi, I've just brought back to life my wife's old note 2. Now that it's going again, it's time to start flashing, but it has been so long and now my n7105 is also available with lte, which seems to be most roms.
What would happen if I flash a rom that is for the n7105 but is lte? Could I just flash the radio afterwards?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my GT-N7105T using Tapatalk 2
The n7105 has a built in lte chip. As long as you have the correct modem for your device and a lte enabled simple card from your operator you should just get lte

yep. N7105 indeed is LTE device. sawdoctor is correct.
Just an additional info, as long as you flash ROM for N7105 device, you should be fine. So far I flashed on my N7105, any roms, I do not need to care about the radio. So far so good, LTE network always work.
If you feel bored, you can try AT&T rom, but you have to flash modem for N7105.
BUT, don't ever flash N7100 rom into your N7105.
cheers.
