[Q] no sim and whatsapp - HTC One X

Hi guys, last week, my HOX out of warranty, suddendly decided to stop reading any sim card. I've tried different methods that I've found on XDA but none of them worked (disassembly, reset, other roms, other sim). Actually it worked in 2g for a couple of hours and then it stopped every sim related connection. Now I sadly use my HOX as an ipod touch and a nokia c5 which hasn't got wifi as normal phone. It would be very useful for me if I could use whatsapp on both devices at the same time with only my phone number (c5 with sim card and HOX under WIFI). I've googled the problem and the only solution I've found wants mac adress of the phone with whatsapp and sim but my c5 hasn't got it as it has no wlan card. Any ideas about my problem? Solving the sim problem would be accepted too .

To use whatsapp you need sim in your HOX Go to some private service..^^

Update: now, if I put a sim in, everything works for about 2 minutes and then no signal again. I've reflashed radio with ril but no luck.
Need for an advice

Strange problem with my Artemis

Hi,
My Artemis is got a strange problem
Its from O2 - Orbit called...
When I'm inserting Orange, Vodafone sim cards I get the error - Sim invalid - fine.. that's means is locked
With O2 is searching for a network but is searching for ever...can't find anything.. when I'm going in Network settings and select manual is saying something about Cannot read setting from network...
With Virgin/Tmobile sim card is finding OK the network and connecting to it but cannot make any phone calls or receive.....
Has anyone had a similar problem? I have tried to send it back to O2 but said they will send me send me a new one... they sent it but I never got it... it got lost in post etc... they didn't ask me to send the faulty one first... I contacted them a lot of times but they don't want to send me another one so I'm stuck with this faulty one.. I have reinstalled windows mobile 5 then upgraded to 6 but I have the same problem...
Did you try out the simcard in another device/phone? If it still fails then just ask for a new one.
yes I tried that sim card and works fine in another phone
also I tried lots of simcards in the xda but none works
I do have somewhat a similar problem. I am using an O2 SIM card on the orbit. A number of times the phone keeps looking for the network. Initially I used to wonder whethe rthe signal is weak - but if I soft reset it (and sometimes takes a couple of times), it finds the network (all bars in the signal) and works OK.
I have changed roms and it hasnt helped.
Since both of you are using the O2 Orbit I guess it must be something with the device. Any chance of finding out when your devices were manufactured?
i have the same problem with htc p3300 - have got signal with some of my sims, but can't make a call - what coul this be? I have 2 devices with these faults!!!
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem on my XDA orbit. O2 and orange sims, just keeps searching for a network with vodafone and t-mobile getting a signal but not allowing calls.
I thought that the phone was locked so I used the IMEI-check web site to download the unlock codes etc. This appeared to run normally, but made no difference to the operation of the phone.
I've done hard and soft re-sets but these make no difference either. The device has rom 3.4.206.2WWE (dated 4/18/07) installed on it and I would need some advice on what to change it to and how to change it.
Thanks for any help that anyone can come up with.
Blocked?
Try updating\upgrading radio ROM. If that does not work then I can only think that the phones have been blocked\barred by the network provider. Try calling them and asking them.
I have been informed that if your orbit is still on contract then it is still under warranty even if it is 2+ years old.

[Q] No Service / SIM card not detected

Hey guys, shortly I'm having troubles with my HTC Desire.
Everything worked fine, got it rooted and flashed about 3 weeks ago, but since yesterday my phone is constantly telling me not having a SIM card inserted.
I've tried several things, such as taking sim card out etc, flashing new rom / changing roms, wiping everything (factory reset), but it still won't work properly and still telling me "no service" / no SIM card inserted. The phone is starting as it's usually done, white/green HTC screen and then starting like normaly, except I have no signal (no calls / txts / mobile network).
My phone is fully rooted, using ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0, Gingerbread 2.3.2 and my ROM is the current Miui.
I hope some help me, cause I can't find anything proper that's bringing me any further.
Thanks alot.

Test the sim on another phone. They die sometimes unexpectedly

How old is your Sim their normal lifetime is aprox 3 to 5 years. Then they most likely die.
Praise the lord, you were right, the SIM is broken -.-
Stupid not checking that before :>
Thanks alot.

[Q] [q] no sim - not registered on network

Hello. I've read many threads like this but didn't find a solution for my problem, so I start a new one, my first thread.
I've bought a Note II (N7100) international version months ago and suddenly I got the message "not registered on network", "no sim", can't access to mobile networks and so on. Further, it is impossible to access to settings>more settings>mobile networks> "INSERT SIM CARD TO ACCESS NETWORK SERVICES". For a better knowledge I found a video on youtube it explains the exact issue I'm suffering.
I got this error when I was on stock rom, so in order to fix it, I thought it was the modem, so I rooted it, installed the criskelo rom v.17 and v 18 and didn't worked. Then I installed the file "modem.tar.md5" and no results. When I try to flash that file trough odin I got a message "removed" and then the phone reboot before the "pass" message.
I have tried my sim card on a S3 and it works, have tried the s3 sim card on my note 2 and it works too. It is like my phone does not match my own sim. When I went to the carrier they tried another sim and it works on my device. I have bought a new sim card and it DOES NOT WORK. I think it's a software issue because the phone worked with other sim cards. It is quite frustrating 'cause I have this issue for about 5 months and no solution come to me. I'm consider the hammer test for my Note II if I don't fix it during this month. Can't sell it, rent, borrow or give away because the phone DOESN'T WORK AS A PHONE.
Please, some kind soul, HELP ME!!!
Sounds like a hardware issue with the SIM card reader in your phone, not making a good contact with the first SIM.
Can't you just get the first SIM replaced?
Indeed, I thought it was the sim reader so I changed it, didnt worked. As I said the phone read some sim cards so I think its not a hardware issue. Please check the vĂdeo I left. Thank you for your response.

SIM card works only few minutes (Any ROM)

Hello!
I have problem with SIM card in my d855.
I'm on Cleanrom from September, but a week ago SIM just disconnected.
No tweaks, clean install.
I reinstalled whole phone to stock (Stock ROM locked my phone using killswitch, so I reinstalled it using BoardDiag)
Flashed CleanRom again, SIM works for few minutes then disc.
Also tried cm11,13 and few modems.
On cm11 SIM working whole night and at morning after some use disconnected.
SIM works normally in another phone.
I record log, which happens every time i turn airplane mode off, reboot or similar "SIM connect try"
Maybe my SIM reader just stopping work, but why after x minutes?
Uploading logs from phone failing, here is G Drive link:

Sorry for my bad English, I'm still learning.
Hi,
Lot of people are having this issue in the last couple of months.
It's not the SIM reader, it appears to be something related to heat in the transmitters area.

More than once an hour 'no signal' and back button acting up?

Hi, I've problems with my device I bought online. Mainly the cellular signal keeps dropping to 0 rendering the service to be unusable. I wanted to make a thread to know if we could fix this ourselves because I didn't want to send this back to the store.
Here's the list of failures I've tried:
1. Tried to insert my sim to either slots
2. Inserted another sim card
3. Inserted both sim card and tried to swap it's slots
4. Deactivated Volte
5. Tinkered with cellular data APNs. (Mainly copied the settings from my other phone)
5. Restored factory settings
6. Repeated these steps after restoring factory settings
Also, Whenever I'm browsing media and whatnot, the back button seems to trigger itself. (once or twice every 20 minutes while watching a video).
Miui 9.0.2.0 (Philippines, Globe sim card [Other networks have the same problem])
I haven't unlocked bootloader, rooted or installed custom roms because I didn't want to void warranty and waste my time and money.
I'm hoping we could fix these problems ourselves. Any thoughts of what I should do? Should I just return this?
my "no signal" story: after 3 weeks my new mi6 got no signal anymore. i read many topics on xda, and thought it might be a software issue. although i decided to head to my mobile provider and asked for help. i got a new nfc simcard which solved the problem till now. it seems there are some issues with old european simcards on new chinese mobiles. the simcard just crashes and you loose signal.

Thanks for the reply, I'm gonna have to try and change my sim. The back button is probably a defect. It's getting worse.
