Good day Khotaghora, please note the following instructions worked for me after many hours of banging my head off brick walls and flashing different roms including going back to the latest stock from sammobile.
Make sure you remove the current gear manager.
Download and copy the following gear manager http://twosx.net/xdadev/Gear/1.7.031004/com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager_1.7.031004.apk to your device. Note, I have not supplied this, from what I can gather it was ripped off the s5 sources, thanks go to Omniwolf for supplying the apk's on XDA.
Ensure in your phones settings under security you have unknown sources ticked.
Install the apk, usually just click on the downloaded file from your favorite browser.
Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on.
I'm not sure if you need to, but at this point I paired the Gear2 with my phone, it will pair as a handsfree device oh the irony.
When you run the manager it will look completely different from the old image asking you to sync, I could see the device at the top of the screen, clicking on it fired up both the watch and the manager.
Good luck with your new device, here is hoping dev's start porting some apps to the Gear2, the store is looking a bit bare at the moment.

Hi trickyburn. Thanks a lot for explaining this into detail. I can confirm that I have managed to get the Gear 2 Neo working with my S4 following your instructions. I actual posted your URL on another forum and some more people have benefited from your post. I wish Samsung had released the latest version of Gear Manager before the release of Gear 2.
Cheers,
KhotaGhora

Check your versions before applying any old s5 based fix, the version 2 gear manager is based on 4.4.2 API's so wont work. the above mentioned 1.7.031004 does work on 4.3 however
4.4.2 based roms might be able to use the updates from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677686
However note I have not tested these as i'm on 4.3 stock at the moment

[HOW TO]USE Samsung Galaxy Gear with i9100

I recently came across...a possibility of making i9100 work with galaxy gear!!....I Did the following
1st: U MUST BE ON 4.4 OR 4.3 for this to work.
2nd; Bluetooth must be on on both devices.
3rd: scan for galaxy gear..when found tap on it twice to force pair...[ u may see an ERROR in pairing ignore it}.
4th: when done! check yo gear....a notification should appear telling u 2 reset the device press the reset button....:fingers-crossed:
DONE!! :laugh::laugh:
It´s fully working with i9100? Or some app does´t work? Like weather? Facebook notifications and messages working too? Sorry for bother you.
I think it should work shoudn't it?
gear manager device not supported exception
I know I'm asking about a very old question (first post is dated 9 moths ago)
Anyway I'm trying to pair a new Galaxy Gear 2 Neo with an GS2 i9100 without success.
I've tyed with:
- Samsung original firmware I9100XWLSW android 4.1.2
- SlimBean 4.3
- SlimKat 4.4.2
In combination with:
- GearManager1_2.apk
- com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager-v1.2.apk
None of my attempts was successful, I can install the gear manager app (both of them) and begin the paring, but I received a "device not supported" exception error and the procedure end.
Is there anyone who complete the gear manager installation and paring? Which is the correct Rom and app match?
Thank you in advance,
Flavio
Hi
Did someone manage to pair them correctly?
I tried a gear s with my s2
Cm10
No luck

[Q] Do any KitKat ROMs support Bluetooth Low Energy?

I have a stock, unrooted Galaxy Nexus GSM purchased new from Google currently running 4.3.
I have a FitBit Flex which will only sync with phones that have Bluetooth Low Energy support.
I can not find any information on any of the KitKat ROMs out there for Galaxy Nexus to see if I install it, will Bluetooth LE work?
If it does then work, my next concern would be if the FitBit app would recognize that the Bluetooth LE works and it would then be able to sync, or if it simply would still see it as a Galaxy Nexus which they do not list as a supported device: http://www.fitbit.com/devices
If anyone can offer me some advice here, I'd greatly apprecaite it!
Thanks.
(btw, sorry if this is in the wrong froum. please move it if it is)

With any kitkat rom I install only the modified apk from that thread and everything is ok!
Il you wanna stay with 4.3 you must install btle libraries as mentioned in the thread.
Gnex supports BLE with almost every KK rom.
(try BLE Checker on play store: on my Vanir says Supported!)
yes, and wrong place to ask this

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
I used The Nexus Root Toolkit (by WugFresh) to Unolock and Root my GNex. Then I used the link you gave me to get the BTLE files and the FitBit apk. I installed everything and it freakin' works!!! I'm so happy!
I'm so annoyed at Google for letting support of this device go after only 18 months. I bought it because they praised it as being thee flagship, unaltered, always up-to-date phone to have. I figured I'd be on the latest version of Android with this phone for many years. I wanted to keep it stock, but they've forced me to now go rooted. I suppose I could now flash a KK ROM, but I'm not sure what that would benefit me at this point.
Thank you again SO much for your help and fast reply! (Even if I did post this in the wrong place!)
Love XDA!
Ok, so I have to update what happened. Everything seemed to be working fine until I got into my car. My GPS has a bluetooth connection. It would connected, but then almost immediately the Bluetooth service would crash on my phone. Happened over and over again. Even after a reboot. Then when I got home, I tried it with my bluetooth speaker. Same exact thing. I figure the bluetooth binaries that I installed screwed up my connections that used to work. I even tried re-pairing them. Didn't help.
I gave up and decided to wipe everything and flash KK. I used CM11 nightly. Now everything, so far, is working as expected. GPS, speaker & fitbit. CM KK takes some getting used to over stock JB. I don't know what changes are KK and which are CM.

Confirming lack of ability to upgrade past 4.2.2 on Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110/SM-T111)

Hi all,
Just rooted my device for the first time today using TWRP and flashing SuperSU. I was hoping it was going to give me the ability to upgrade my device to a stock android version of Lollipop. As I'm looking around it seems like that is not supported by the community. I have used the search bar and haven't come up with much, except a few old threads when Lollipop was just released.
I found this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755532 that suggests nobody has modded it past it's final android update 4.2.2. The only difference it seems is it gets rid of some of the uninstallable Samsung and Google apps.
I just wanted to confirm that there is no development going on past 4.2.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) before I flash a new ROM from the list.
Thanks.
bump
I would also like to know, I bought the tablet today for my son, but never checked about the android version, and now i can't update the kids mode on it,so being to get it to update would be brilliant, if not i'll have to take it back and exchange it for one that has a newer version.
Maybe in the future:

Does Cardboard Camera work on a Note 2 running KitKat?

Hi guys,
Wonder if someone could do me a favor and try installing Cardboard Camera (Sorry, can't post links yet) on their Note 2?
I have an SGH-T889 running stock Jelly Bean and it tells me that it is incompatible with my phone. Read somewhere that it needs KitKat, but my missus runs KitKat on her (cheap) phone and she can't install it either.
Just wanted to check whether it could actually run before bothering to try flashing a 4.4. ROM.
Many thanks

Thanks but Cardboard Camera 1.0.0.110334691 states Android 4.4+ as minimum, and will not install on my 4.3 Note 2. "There is a problem parsing the package".
Are you saying you can install it on 4.3 or 4.4?
(Note this is Cardboard Camera, not Cardboard which runs fine)

Try it. And if work is not updated to TouchWiz 4.4. You have a T889 t mobile and therefore you are in 4.3? I have this and as no official 4.4 rom use the eclipse v6 4.4 and the phone is faster and has more features
Just to update in case anyone else wondering about this. After 2 solid days of reading, I rooted my phone and installed a 4.4. custom rom (jedi).
Cardboard Camera then installed ok!
Try and take a photo "Unfortunately your device does not reach the minimum requirements" :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Restored back to stock.

CM13 also doesn't work. I've read somewhere that it's available from Note 4, Note 2 is a lil bit old and specs aren't so great now.

galaxy watch 46mm conect to Phone problem

Hi people I'm facing one problem with my galaxy watch 46mm I have one s10 plus with android Q havd root and custom rom and after I install the custom rom the watch won't connect anymore I have galaxy buds and they work fine but the work on my girlfriend and my sister phone but in mine don't
Galaxy Wearable and Plugins for Samsung devices has been built with specified configuration & registered to used some specified function with Android Framework, which may be not allowed, in the case of custom rom.
At first, u should try to install non-samsung version of Galaxy Wearable and Plugin, then try to connect. If it still not work. Take logcat, maybe I can help.

try the one from Google Play Store, as I remember, latest version for non-samsung is deployed there.
After install Galaxy Wearable, it will download the plugin for Watch 46mm, but I doubt that since Galaxy Wearable check your OEM is Samsung(even that the Rom is custom rom), it will download the plugin version for Samsung device.
U can ask for help from someone with non-samsung device to export their plugin apk to try (sorry I cant help, since I'm using iPorn...)
Problem solved was the rom
