So we have an immersive view for pictures. Does anyone know what format these pictures need to be to be able to be viewed from the gallery?

Is there a way to hide a group of pictures and keep them from showing up in the gallery without downloading an app to hide such items?

Create a folder titled .nomedia on your sd card.
Place applicable pictures in this newly created folder and they will not be scanned by gallery.
Thanks Rod3 I've wondered this myself.

Quickpic is good for hiding picture folders. it's also password protection.

I'm having a problem with regards to the photo gallery displaying way too many photos and only want to display photos I have stored on the phone and the Instant Upload folder that google plus generates. What do I have to do to make this happen?
I've gone into picasa web galleries and deleted a ton of old ones which aren't relevant anymore, but no matter what I try my gallery app is a mess of photos from posts on google plus with no recognizable folder structure or organization at all.
Should I just give up and use gallery only for local photos and then the google plus app for viewing the instant upload folder?
Is there a third party app that will do what I want?
I really can't help you with the stock gallery app as it blows IMO.
QuickPic from the market will let you display or hide anything you wish.
I love quickpic but it's local files only isn't it?
Clear media storage data

Settings/accounts & sync / click on you Gmail account(s) and uncheck the photos so it doesn't sync with your device.

One X is a great device. So is this one.
Can anyone see if they can reproduce these results? If you sync your Picasa webalbums and try to create either a MMS or Email and then attach a picture from within the email or sms app -does it take forever for the albums (gallery) to load???

The only option you have to reduce the size is the crop options. Using 4:3 or 1:1 will reduce the file size.
I can disable the gallery app, but for my pictures to show up in Google photos, I must have the gallery app. Any way to link the camera with the Google photos app? Like make it the default?

We can select which folders to backup into G Photos and so they can be viewed there.
Will check this tonight anyway
But if you're trying to save your photos straight into cloud instead of local, its impossible.
