Return to stock - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I am trying to return to stock my US, WiFi Note 8.0 so I can return a defective unit.
Please direct me to a firmware please.

Give this a try http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Just type in your model number and flash thru Odin.
Hoping this helps

Will this remove rooting info?

Its should, as you'll be returning to bone stock, you can always check after you flashed it, by going to download mode and there it will tell you if it has "triggered" the binary count.

Which country do you use, from the link above, if you live and purchased from United States? That option isn't available for the US.

You can use United Kingdom (GB)

I am not able to install the CM 11 mod I tried I followed the CM rom installation procedure I've don it on all my phones and friends phones.
But when i goto install on my GT-N5100 which has the 3g feature I use everyday it says this model is the GT-N5110 which it is clearly not as clearly labeled on the back and the fact that I use it on the ATT network everyday.
But it messed up the tablet so now I'm struggling to find the stock firmware to reinstall and put it back to normal so I can use the damn phone.
If anyone knows how to bypass this let me know.

I am back up and running on my highly personalized version of the Torok nor rom and I know I'm gonna catch hell for spelling it that way. I really appreciate every one who pointed me in the right direction. The United Kingdom (UK) Firmware was perfect. After flashing, rooting via safe root and TWRP via Odin, i'm golden again. Going to forget about the dual boot option until they make a video or at least explain the install and flash a little beter lol. All in all it s still my fault though and I know and accept the risk.

So anyone having battery drain problems its probably because of this file taxing the CPU at 100%. All I did was rename it to include .bak and removed the execute permission. Phone is now sleeping and virtually no lag. All that urks me now is that wifi direct is disabled in this build.

And it might trip it (I never paid attention) but if it does get tripped, Triangle Away by Chainfire resets your flash counter so no need to worry there.

Yea, should be in Q/A.
Anyway, have you tried to get a free unlock code from ATT?
Firsty, wrong section.
Secondly, search on xda or google for an answer to your question. Already too many threads on the internet.
Thirdly, if you are frustrated about AT&T charging you like crazy then switch providers.
Lastly, if you still have any concerns, read this post all over again.

Not sure that will work and might brick your device. The hardware is different so even an unlocked AT&T phone will only get edge on T-Mobile.

[APP][WINDOWS] Android Rom Migrator

I have created a windows app that will port roms somewhat automatically.
Please keep bases the same.
ie- CM10.2 base and CM10.2 port
There is still some user input required so it is advised that you know your way around the android OS.
This program REQUIRES that you have the Java JDK and JRE installed.
Having adb installed is not a requirement, but some options in this program utilize it.
This is my first development project so bare with me.
If you have any requests to be added, Shoot me a PM or comment about it.

It's cool that you made this but I have to admit, I am a bit confused...
Your title calls it a Rom Migrator, which I took to mean that it can help someone jump between roms by making it easy to restore apps, settings, etc.
But your op says it will port roms, which says to me that you can take a Sprint or AT&T Rom, and using this, port it to our T999 fairly easily.
Either way, I can see it as being useful to different groups of people, but perhaps it's not getting much response due to similar confusion.
You may also consider a quick step by step guide in one of your reserved posts. Nothing fancy, but a quick how-to can go a good ways toward making folks more comfortable with trying something new.
Hope that helps, and thanks for sharing your work!

If this app ports as it says it does then I guess there would be no problem porting from other S3 variants.... I assume this tool, will auto swap out drivers and set partition parameters that are compatible with T-Mobile S3.... If it can't do that then the next best thing would be that it uses a compatible base and add the rest of features similar to how Aroma works..... If none of the above, this probably doesn't do what it says and might brick your phone.....
I've used this a couple times it works, somewhat i.hade manually switch out a fre things in the actual final port ROM but other wise it's good

If anyone else is interested. ..

I wasn't doing much today, now that the semester is over. So I felt like experimenting with our great phone. I think we all notice that the international models offer MUCH more currently active support. So I wanted to find out how much some of the mods and such were compatible. I flashed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2721839, and surprisingly, so far, everything is working out ok. I would highly advise to backup a current nandroid just in case. Obviously this isnt my work, nor am I publishing this mod as in a specific ROM other than the creators. Completely on my time and my risk.
So tell me what you guys think.

Data issues

I constantly have to toggle airplane mode on and off for my data to work. When I'm using my phone all of a sudden my data will cut off and the only way to get it back on is if I reboot the phone or if I toggle airplane mode. I think I read that the issue is from android 4.4.2?? I'm currently using W03 Slim v17. I had these issues on Darthstalker v6 which was android 4.3.
Anyone else experiencing the same data drop out issues as I am? Anyone found a fix?
Thanks in advance!!

You are dealing with an issue familiar with the Note 3 on JB. You, if you so choose to decide need to update to kitkat bootloader, and run a rom made for kit kat. Running older (jellybean) roms on your phone, you will get this problem.
We also experienced, this problem with the original KIt Kat update, but found out it was a problem more with the phone then with roms. Updating software has seemed to fixed this for alot of users.
Hope this helps.
Looks like my data issues are over. I updated my phone to KitKat using Jovy's guide and haven't experienced a data drop out. I would recommend everyone who has data issues to upgrade immediately. Thanks for all the replies.

I've been having the same problem as you and others for quite sometime now with data drops and it showing 4g lte but nothing loading. Im on 4.3 MI7 though, did a lil research and someone said to add a new apn and change it to IPv4 instead of IPv6 and it should help. Made the change and I havent had a single data drop yet in 2 days and I usally already have like 5 and having to toggle data and airplane mode to get it back. Might be too early to know for sure but it wouldnt wouldn't hurt to try and see. You need to turn off your data, go to more networks, mobile networks, access point names and create a new apn then save it and select it. Add only whats checked marked in red. Hope this helps...
