I have been a little silly and managed to assign google to my home screen button. So now whenever I swipe up, google opens.
How do I remove this?
thanks

There was nothing selected originally, had the option to select "google" or my lock screen app.
Want to change

So what's that menu button on the bottom right for in the lock screen? When I press it, nothing happens. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.
You can't explain that. Really, anyone know?
It's just a weird bug. If you have an app running that has the menu button (not ICS-optimised), and lock the screen, the menu button also appears in the lockscreen as well. I think they already fixed this in the latest OTA though.

if you have an app open that uses a menu, you can access it directly without unlocking the phone if you do not have a pattern unlock.

I don't think so. Whenever it appears and I press it from the lock screen, nothing happens.
do you have a pattern or pin unlock? based on your screenshot id say you do.
That menu shows up using certain launchers, such as ADW.
Is there anyway to switch to another app while on a call?
On Sony Xperia, one can press "home" key to switch to the home screen and start another app while continue to talk on the phone, but on Note 2 the call screen stay on no matter which key is press. Can anyone tell me if this is normal.

Maybe a other dialer helps? I've not tested it on standard. Go Contacts EX (dialer and contacts). I can dial and press home there.

No, what I meant is when you are already in a call. How to you get to check emails, SMS message or even play games at the same time when you are speaking to someone. I can not switch out of the contact's screen as it simply locks up the screen no matter which key is pressed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
I am using the Note 2 LTE
I just tested my phone..while on call..I pressed the home button..my dialer went away and my home page appeared. I am using stock rooted rom with go launcher.

What I mean is that during a call I can just press home, then open what ever I like. It works with Go Contacts anyway. I just tried it. Opened up Gmail without issues. See the green area in the top?

I just upgraded to Jellybean. When trying to swipe up to use Google Now, absolutely nothing happens, no matter which screen I've tried it from. Is there a trick to getting the app to come up by swiping? I can tap on the Google icon on the home screen of course, but I'd like to use the swiping feature if possible...

You don't swipe uo to get Google Now to come up. You press and hold the Menu button while on the home screen. That should do the trick.

How can i add more apps to that CIRCLE?
I only have google now and there is a lot of space for 4 more shortcuts..
When my screen turns off and I press the home button to wake the screen, any applications or notification popups I had disappears as the home button is being too "aggressive" and immediately takes me to the home screen.
Did I miss a setting somewhere to prevent this?
Thanks.
It seems the only way to prevent this is by enabling Swipe Lock. I guess this is why it's enabled by default?
I'm having the same problem no matter what I do when the screen times out and I press home it takeme back to my home screen. ..Have you found a solution yet?

In S-Voice app, bring up settings, make sure option to "Open via the home key" is checked. This will allow the home button to only wake the device when the screen is off. Unfortunately, this also introduces some lag when pressing the home button, as the software is waiting to see if you register a double click.

I hate that lag, that's why I unchecked it and ran into this Home Button problem.
The lag is pretty bad, like 2-3 seconds. Not practical.
I apologise if there has been a thread on this but I have searched and all i could find was about unlocking the carrier.
My problem is that I can't unlock my S3 using the home button, I'm not sure what happened but it just won't work. The button functions perfectly and I can still use the power button, but I have an otterbox and it is rather annoying having to press that button.

10 or 10.1/10.2?
There's a setting directly in cm10.2 for that. Look under Settings > Buttons (in the Device section)
Then you should see "Home button wake" there, make sure it's checked.
