That depends. The xtc clip might not work on a unlocked hboot for security reasons. You could certainly try but its not recommended.

Well by default HTC disable certain things from working on an unlocked hboots like a RUU for example. This will only stop the xtc clip if diag.nbh files are disabled by this. It won't cause any harm to try, the warning more specifically applys to having a custom hboot/radio/Recovery. After the unlock the diag file factory resets your phone using the stock recovery. If it's not there some issues may arise with the wipe. Same goes if you were to have a custom hboot or radio firmware it could cause issues with the unlock. Your phone won't be bricked by this sort of thing, worst case scenario for your phone would be either the unlock fails or the more likely unlock succeeds but the factory wipe afterwards fails.

I think I was able to successfully update this using htcdev bootloader, I said I think because I left the house before I left the house the phone was rebooting and on my pc it shows that its erasing data. When I came back the phone is already fully rebooted.
How would I know if I was able to successfully unlock bootloader?
I tried rooting the phone and I got an error using Wildfire S manager.
Hope you can help me .

I've followed the instructions at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/ruu-downloads which, for my network (O2UK), instructs me to "update" my ROM to 2.13.206.1. So I've updated OTA and find I have 2.26.401.3.
The problem is that the RUU from the above website won't recognise this 2.26.401.3 ROM as 2.13.206.1 and insists I "update" to 2.13.206.1 which I do not know how to do.
Is there any other way I can unlock the bootloader? Or can I get the 2.13.206.1 ROM from somewhere else and install that?
Just proceed to step 1..............If your version is higher than specified, you can unlock your phone's bootloader
You cannot install other ROM into your phone without bootloader unlocked.root permissions and CWM recovery.
If i helped you, click the "Thanks" button.Sorry for my English and have a nice night !

I think you're already have HBOOT unlockable (xxxx99)
Go to steps unlock bootloader without download ruu from htcdev.

You really don't need to update the boot loader and search for RUU when the HBoot ver is 1.08.xxx or later.
Just go thru this guide, will help you

Hope this may be useful.

buuuuuuuut
every Rom i installed is not capable to make or receive phone calls. Every time i try to do a call, the wfs says:
android.phone.prozess is shutting down
Did i forget anything or did anything wrong?
Got any help?
@clusternate, if your phone is MarvelC (cdma) then you have to flash ROM that suits your model.

I've got the europe (germany) version. so i think i need the GSM version.
I'm quiet new to rooting this devices. Are there different versions of every ROM?
I tried about 6-7 ROM's and not one of them worked. (MIUI, CM7, CM9, everyone from the wfs section of this forum)
A co-worker told me something about updating the modem of my wfs.
Is this true and is there a way to do it?
PS. Which ROM should work on my device?
PPS. There is another prozess that is failing.
Prozess.android.acore is also crashing.
I got a wildfire that works but no rom and they can not be anything instalirati.Ima S-ON, I tried calling him bootloader unlocked using HTC Dev but constantly throws some errors, I tried RUU but even that did not give results as well as attempting to install via SD goldcard.Vjerovatno card and someone in it something wrong flash.

Does the phone not go past this screen?
Did you update the phone before this happened? It looks like someone's tampered with the phone and tried to relock it while running a custom operating system, in return the phone will throw a Security Warning.
Head over to www.htcdev.com and sign up, unlock bootloader.

Can't be, the bootloader is still originally locked, the flag on the bootloader should say relocked already if they did that. I think it's a issue with the battery as it seems very low looking at that message a bit down below.
Never advise people to unlock a "locked" bootloader because it could break potentially good warranty !

All very true, knowing how hboot firmware works; Security Warning seems to show up when the /system partitions been altered. But this seems new.
Here Katie, try to install this on your phone: http://androidruu.com/getdownload.p...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe you will not require a bootloader unlock. You're going to have to run this using a computer, if you get "phone not detected" issues, install this: http://www.mediafire.com/?eqrqb44r3ot18g1
Good luck.

You can't mess with a system on a s-on hox without a unlocked bootloader or s-off, so it should say relocked in any way. Even if it was s-off, making an s-off hox back to locked and s-on will proper brick the device !
That ruu will not work. The device is s-on and has a hboot of 1.72 and you can t downgrade a hox that is s-on. That ruu contains a Hboot of 1.39.
@katie1
Save yourself the hassle and don't try the ruu, i already know the outcome. You have 3 choices
1: turn the phone off via the fastboot/bootloader menu, if it doesn't turn off or charge you can try the battery charge script via fastboot. Download the following file and place it in the fastboot folder on the pc and execute it with the phone in fastboot usb mode (bootloader)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/aaah8gqz8j024xz/Batt script.bat
It will continuously reboot the bootloader and charge the battery. It's worth to try......
2: claim your warranty at the seller (at least contact the seller about this issue because it can't be your fault at all)
3: unlock the bootloader via the HTC dev site (which may break your warranty) and flash a custom rom. But you need to get the device charged first, see #1
I would go for option #2 first

You already had an unlocked bootloader so unlock it and flash a custom recovery, from there you follow procedures to install a new rom.
