The case is made of a polymer, probably nylon. If you use water based dyes, it will not take and you will end up ruining your clothes and having colour all over eveything.
If you want to do it properly, with most plastics you need some kind of agent to activate the plastic to accept the dye, like acetone. Even if acetone was apprpriate, the flip case is made of 3 pieces glued together. The acetone will certainly disolve the glue and ruin the case.
Good luck though, let us know how it goes!
I am afraid the magnet give the bad influence for the syste. But is is ok ?

is there a way to put a cell phone strap on the Galaxy Nexus?
(anything short of drilling an actual hole on the Galaxy Nexus, of course! )
For me, i attached a charm around my phone's case between the camera and secondary microphone holes. Its nice since it doesn't force you to undo the charm whenever you are pulling out the battery door out =] all you do is remove the case and presto!

If you have one of the many Androidified Cruzer Lite case (with embossed Andy on the back) there's provision for a cell phone strap on one of the top corner.
There's no loop for a strap because it's not a clam shell phone, and nothing could be worse for the screen than precariously dangling it from your wrist/hip/purse to get banged around by whatever your body comes into contact with when you're walking around.
That's a $500 phone that you're considering hanging off of your body for the world to see, held on by a single strap. It's smaller than a purse, making it easier to steal, and worth more than most people make in a week. Think about that for a moment.
But if you're really that interested, case manufacturers often sell cases that come with a loop for attaching a strap. Google it.

But all other Samsung smartphones have strap holes..... The Galaxy Nexus seems to be the only exception.
I would just duct tape it to my hand.

If you get one of the cruzer lite cases as stated above, you dont have to drill or use a hole that it wasnt meant for. It has it on the upper right (if your phone's screen is facing you) corner.
As I am new here, I am not allowed to post links... Anyway, I saw a nice post by a guy in Japan with his brand new Docomo Galaxy Nexus. And in one of the pictures, you can see where he attached a strap to the small screw in the upper right hand corner above the SIM card.
If you search for "GALAXY NEXUS SC-04D で今日やった作業" you might be able to find it....
Hope this helps.

I think the fact of it being a $500.00 phone is why the OP wants a strap. I have never thought that they were solely for carrying the phone around, but to keep it from hitting the deck if it slips out of your hand while in use. Kind of the same way wii controllers have a strap to prevent you from impaling your TV.

Great concept, flawed product.
#1- The flap will be loose, so it needs to be secured. Best way is for a Magnet link.
#2- Placing your cards on the outer side means more chance of opportunistic theft
#3- Even adding one credit card will make the case thicker. Its usually not a problem, but since they will be "stacked" the inner side will get thicker in some areas and not in others.
This creates a loose "touch point" of the inside flap and the screen.
(eg/ Apple's Smart Cover, imagine the middle being quite thick and the borders shallow - it wouldn't touch properly).
I do like the idea of combining your phone + wallet into one package, but its not really theesable. Firstly, it will make the NOTE too bulky, and its already stretching out some pockets. Secondly, the amount of storage is low on the package. A wallet will hold more contents.
I personally have a skinny wallet with a ~3 credit cards and half-dozen business cards and ofcourse paper money. I place it in my ass pocket, phone goes alone to front right pocket... I tend to multitask easiest this way.
Would've got this but, I don't like leather and I want a pouch where my phone slides out, not stuck to the case. Also, no room for a usb host cable.

I'm using the Trident case but I could still use it to protect the game pad - and the battery cover even tho it's already protected.

ya theyre covered but they work flawlessly ...if u need it dont even hesitate:good:
i have it cause i was pretty obsessive with gamepad protection. it is amazing; the only thing is, when i tried to put it on it wasn't the right size and there was a piece hanging out on the top (and i couldn't close the gamepad obviously). i had to cut it with scissors. i also heard about people pushing it underneath the slider with a knife, i couldn't do it, it was too thick. when i cut it, it was still difficult to close the gamepad because of the sudden thickness increase. it's completely negligible, but it didn't work. so i just used some transparent scotch tape to smooth it out and now it works perfectly.
all of this is restricted to a small strip on the top of the gamepad, don't worry
I've been eyeing this for months now... But I'm only interested on the circular sticker for the D-Pad and PS buttons. I won't be putting on the entire sticker that will cover the word XPERIA on the gamepad. It looks awesomely sick I think!
Wow thanks! Didn't know they did things like that looks good, might have to get one:good:

Yes it is very cool but be careful while sticking it on.
As you can see I haven't done the best job with the sticking but it's still awesome.
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
do you have any problems closing the gamepad? i had to cut the thing to make it fit and used tape to smooth the sliding. it's almost invisible but i had to :\
Nope no problem with the sliding up or down and I never cut anything. It may be the tiniest bit less smoother than normal but it's almost perfect.
Maybe you never stuck it on properly like a bit of the sticker had to be pushed under the gamepad.
I dunno as you can see my sticker isn't perfectly stuck on but the slidings fine.
You should just keep it the way you have it though if the sticker is invisible it shouldn't matter
yea, of course i'm gonna keep it like this unless i'll want to take it off. when i tried to push part of the sticker under the gamepad i simply couldn't, it was too thick. strange... :\
anyways, do you think the sticker pushes the screen-gamepad gap? it seems that it just fit the small "void" that was there before, so it actually should be a good thing.
Just wanted to say i recently bought this and its mad. I would recommend it.
/==(CyberScopes)==\
Perhaps I'll buy it sometime.
Hi guys , i recently purchased the band mentioned in the title and have had it put on by my local jewelers which by the way slightly damaged the sides where the pins go in by marking one of them not sure how. Now i am paranoid it would make it crack i hope not.
My question is in the long run have any of you had any issues with that band at all seeing as though when on my wrist it really doesen't put pressure on the back of the watch as my wrist is not that small.
Some photos , not sure if you can make it out but you can tell where hes damaged the sides lol. Should i worry as per the photos?
Thanks
Anybody?

It seems that your jeweler filed the back sides in order to reach the lugs ? Yes I do believe this weakens the already poorly designed plastic back. I think that anybody owning the watch could have done a better job at this, because owning it makes one handling the watch responsibly.
Mine cracked a week after I put this band on. But I have a smaller wrist.

I have the same band in black. I put it on my 360 without SteelConnect lugs and knew immediately that the back would crack sooner, rather than later.
Got some SteelConnect M°180 lugs and now it fits and moves like it should. See below.
Also bought the black steel mesh band which imo looks amazing. Decided against buying the steel connects, just looks missed placed.
So what I did is use my dremel tool to file down the rounded plastic back. All seems well.

Yeah, if you don't get the steelconnect (or similar) lugs, the only other option to prevent cracking is breaking out a dremel and sandpaper. BUT, this would warrant denial of warranty should anything else go wrong with the watch, so I decided to go with the lugs. Black lugs on the black band looks good to me.

BLADE OR CUTTER
MARKING PEN
STEEL PINS
STEPS
1) REMOVE EXTRA SHEET OF PAD CONNECTED TO OPO CASE PRESENT IN U R OPO BOX USING SCISSOR
2) MARK EACH AREA GIVEN BELOW WITH MARKER PEN
SO U CAN CUTT IT CORRECTLY WITHOUT ANY MISTAKE
3) CUT FOLLIWING AREAS WITH BLADE OR CUTTER
AND WHERE ARE MIC POINTS JUST USE PIN TO MAKE WHOLES
1)VOLUME BUTTONS
2)POWER BUTTON AREA
3)SPERAKERS AND USB PORT AREA

Now my phone is 6 month old
Corners sand stone black is getting worse day by day it is getting removed
Again i falled my phone 2-3 times and it chromium film get some damage
So i thought till get my new back case i should make an alternate solution
It just for fun not fullproof solution as back case
But when u use it u feel very handy than sand stone back case
And surprisingly every one asking which phone this is ( but this is not case previously)
I dropped my phone a few times too, and it looked ugly around the edges. The Housing Frame is really cheap and is pretty easy to replace. The back cover can also be bought for cheap. Once I finally got the parts, it took about an hour and now my phone looks brand new.
But yes, if it is hard to order parts to where you live... make a box case!
