New way to root without unlocking bootloader
(1) enable development mode in settings
(2) then go here and download saferoot.zip extract to desktop
(3) connect phone to pc and run install.bat
Wouldn't it be far more easy to install framaroot? Your bootloader will also still be locked.

I used the GAIOv1.50 toolkit (Great tool! I just obviously don't know what I'm doing) to root my LG Optimus G I also used it to unlock the bootloader but I did not use it to install the custom recovery or restore the unlock stock boot. After doing what I just mentioned I restarted my phone. I was able to access the bootloader menus, but after realizing that I didn't install the custom recovery or restore the unlock stock boot, I performed those steps from the backlight screen. Now the bootloader screen loops and I can no longer access the menus and I don't know what to do from here (Or from the beginning obviously). I am definitely a NOOB and need help.
Please help!

As per bootloader unlock instructions make sure that you have installed
The android sdk
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Moto USB drivers
https://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/solution/MS88481
Follow the rest of the instructions on the Motorola bootloader unlock site

Dear all,
I'm stuck and I don't know what to do.
I can't root my LG G3 D851 (T-Mobile) phone.
Recovery mode is only deleting the files (Original LG screen).
Purple, oneclickroot, kingroot they all fail cause they can't start in Recovery Mode.
I think that my Bootloader is blocking this, but LGUP doesn't recognize my Phone.
LG Flash no working DLL? I'm stuck and I'm starting to miss ODIN.
Is anyone able to help?
Cause I don't see it anymore
I have a variant of your phone, the LG G3 D858HK, I sort-of had the same issue and also found that KingRoot, Purple, etc failed, but Towelroot worked when I took the phone out Recovery Mode ..... after about the 10th attempt at trying to root using it that is...... Apparently it can take several attempts using the app before you obtain root

You can't unlock the bootloader. You have to downgrade to a lower version of lollipop, root with kingoroot, and run autorec.
