I haven't seen a category for Sprint m8 setup yet. Is this coming soon? I have a gold one on order and a friend who got one activated on Sprint today (not gold, ordered directly from Sprint).

I purchased a T-Mobile touch pro 2 from a "friend" of a friend. I'm considering putting this phone up on ebay or selling through another method. My question is if I sell it, will the person purchasing it have any problems activating the phone? I see that T-Mobile uses SIM cards for their phones so can the buyer just pop in their T-Mobile SIM card and have it be fully functional? I would highly consider keeping this phone but I'm not a T-Mobile subscriber. I've been with Sprint for a long time and I'm not planning on switching. Any input is highly appreciated. Thanks.
yes, if the person has a data plan on their account then they will have no problem, if they dont they just have to call it in to customer care and they can add it over the phone. either way they will just pop in their t-mobile sim card and be ready to go
You have some nice friends.
I notice today that HTC added the Touch Po 2 to their US site list. T-mobile will be the first to release it and apparently it's going to be soon. I'm guessing 1 month as its not on tmobile's site yet.

Ok, thanks for the info fellas. Looks like the phone is going up on ebay today or tomorrow. Anyone interested in purchasing a T-Mobile Touch Pro 2?

If your friend got it the way I think he got it, he signed a release not to sell it.
The flip side of that is ... I don't know how much tracking they're doing on these devices.
If he's asked to produce the device and he/she can't, it will raise some eyebrows.
(That's just me knowing what I know)

I don't have any documents to post or sites to confirm, but I've called 3 different Tmo stores (chicago) and all 3 tmo peeps said the same thing: One S first and then very shortly after the One X will release. One guy said april but other 2 said May. I asked why u no put online? And they said tmo won't but tells them roughly but not specific date and def won't put online.
Thank god. I was pissed I had to settle for one s knowing the one x exsisted.
Can't beat Simple Mobiles unlimited everything for 40 flat 60 for 4g so ATT was out of the question

You do realize the Tmo 1X won't be having the same specs as the international version right

Me personally, I would be happy with any One X variant, quadcore Tegra 3 or dual core S4, even if I only got 16 Gigs vs 32, as long as I have that 4.7" 720p screen, I would be very pleased.
TABLESPOON of salt time. Salesmen will tell you anything to get you to call back or visit the store.

I don't think tmobile will have one x when they already announced one s is coming to them.
Salesman will say anything I bet they don't even know difference between one s and x.
only the One S will be coming to Tmo sorry whoever told you that is wrong.
One X is coming to T-Mobile in the UK, not sure if that makes any difference.
some salespeople will tell you anything no doubt, i used to work for att. some are honest. and some are in between like the rest of the world. but 3 different tmo workers from 3 different stores said the same thing and that seems like a good indication to me. and i did make sure they understood i was talking about the one x and not the one s. obviously we will all know for sure in 2 months whether yes or no. i figured if anyone else was searching as much as me to find a way to get a one x running 4g on tmo then this would be good to share with them

Given that T-Mobile hasn't even announced the One X in the US market, any answer you get is a work of pure fiction.

1. Definitely not a quad core
2. Probably a 4.3 touch screen
3. Only 16GB

As for me I'm getting the international version..
1. Definitely a work of fiction.
2. Probably fictitious.
3. Only fictional.

I've spoken to T Mobile twice over the phone and once at a physical site regarding the One X. My main question was regarding the 1900 MHz band. All 3 specialist I had spoken to (I had tech support on the phone twice) stated T Mobile was not operating 3g over 1900 MHz and had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the refarming in a few cities on the West coast.
The sales rep at the T Mobile store pretty much had no idea if a refarming of the 1900 MHz would actually happen but did confirm it was out there as a 3g network in a very limited market, Boston, MA is not one
My point in all of this is, not one rep mentioned the One X coming to T Mobile USA.
Just read on CNET that HTC will start making the unlocked version available on its site at midnight tonight. A little digging seems to confirm that the model is based on AT&T's SKU. So, this won't work on Verizon right? (well I guess the 4g LTE should, but no voice?)

No, it won't since Verizon uses CDMA, which unlocked and developer variant don't have.
What I'm worried about is that they didn't announce a Developer Edition, just an unlocked one. I don't know how hard it would be to unlock the bootloader (never had an HTC device) but it's been difficult or impossible on past phones of mine.

Yeah I see now it's super easy on HTC phones. My Moto X 2013 AT&T on 4.4.4 can't be unlocked (according to an XDA sticky I read somewhere) so that's why I was worried.
Pretty odd that it would be limited to one carrier (at least in the States.)

I posted this elsewhere. They have this posted on their G4 tour date page.
Not totally surprising really as many times we've seen a back color or phone color specific to a carrier.

Are they selling an unlocked version with all the US bands/GSM?

gsm yes, problem can arise with LTE frequency, at least for the international model which is already out now.
I have already seen, on eBay, virtually all of the leather back colors for sale out of Asia. So, for +-$70 USA (I bet prices will come down) you can score about any of the colors you might want. And then sell yours
Hey all - I haven't seen anything regarding carrier exclusivitivity. I'm on T-Mobile, and would get this at launch - assuming it's still a VZW Exclusive?
TIA!

Well don't make the mistake everyone else made with the pixel 2.... If you want an unlocked bootlloader and plan on doing custom ROMs and stuff don't get Verizon version.... buy the unlocked version from Google store.

Not sure if it is a VZ exclusive but T Mobile said yesterday they would not carry it. I would be surprised if any other US carrier does. I expect the exclusive deal VZ and Google have will carry on for some time.
It is a Verizon Exclusive. Only sold through Verizon's stores and even at Best Buy's it is sold through Verizon. You could order it unlocked from Google though and activate it on any network
I was hoping that at least this year the google store in New York would have the unlocked version. Seems silly that the googlle store would only have Verizon version.... That's the purpise of the Verizon store!!

Yes, but Google may have an agreement with VZ to only sell unlocked versions online only for the exclusive (just speculating).

True but whats the purpose of a google store then....you could just go to best buy or Verizon to see the google displays.
