Quick question, from what I've noticed in reviews, the Gunmetal M8 is the only one that has the brushed look.
Looks like the Silver and Gold versions have the same finish as the M7. Is this correct? I haven't found a review that states this explicitly :\

Hi guys,
Got my hands on the CandyShell Grip case, from Speck at my local AT&T store. This is a one-piece hybrid style case that incorporates silicone and plastic in one. So while you get a sleeker case (since it's not 2 pieces) while obtaining the benefits of both materials. It's pretty simple to put on, and I love the look - but removing this case is very, very difficult.

The downside (and the reason why I am not buying that one) is the volume-rocker and power button
I really like the look of the case! Interesting to see it on a white One X.
BTW, Speck's website claims that the case will be available in mid-June, while obviously they are available right now. Pretty annoying.

I have that very case and I think it is great. I have no problems at all with the on/off and volume switches. They are firm but not difficult to press as the video seems to imply. Nor was it particularly difficult to remove if you start from the stretchy earphone jack area. I particularly like that the case is just thick enough to protect the camera lens when lying on its backside. And for me the look is strikingly good.

does anyone use the gold variant(or any other color) of the slim armor case on his silver M8? I´m not quite sure what color to get. I can´t find any pictures it seems like everybody has the gunmetal m8.

Hi, in fact I also own the gunmetal variant of the HTC One M8 as well as the corresponding Spigen Slim Armor in gunmetal grey. Looks great es it blens in with the M8 perfectly. Looks as if it is a part of the Phone as far as I think.

Had a tough time deciding. Silver looks super nice with the silver band, and will make me feel a bit better about replacing my silver Rolex. Silver with the leather band is kind of meh though. Black looks nice with the leather band, looks doable with the black metal band but not quite classy for a suit IMO, it would be fine but not have that slight edge of classiness.
In the end I ordered the silver one. Hopefully the metal bands won't be delayed too long. What did everyone else order?

black on metallic black is super sexy.
but silver on silver is for the monday to friday up to mid day wear for me at least

Haha, don't think I didn't consider buying 2 of them. In fact if I like it I will do EXACTLY that and swap them out as I like. They are cheap enough where buying a couple of them isn't a big deal.
Got silver as well.
Silver, with a black metal strap. When the metal straps ship... eventually. At least that's what I ordered and what my plan is.

Took me a while to decide, but I went with the silver bezel because it offers more contrast than the black on black. Not planning to get the metal strap.
Black looks sick.
I was all about the black version but Best Buy seems to only be carrying silver, at least in my area. I grabbed a silver and there's no way i'm going back. I think it's gorgeous and distinctive.

1- looks more shinny and classy
2- it will not drive me bat-shet crazy like the black would once the first scratch on the black finish occurs.
Silver for sure. I wish it came with a brown leather band... I already have a black sports watch (suunto core) so I needed/wanted something I can wear that is more formal looking.
Silver + Suede Gray looks boss!
I went with black ordered from BB. It's expected this week. Not sure at this point if I'll change the band or not.
I plan to use it at work (Plumber) and also for casual to a full suit.
Hopefully it works out. But I may also end up with the R watch when it's released.

Silver but only because it looks better with a variety of of different colored watch bands. Black your options are def more limited.

Silver. In my opinion, it looks more refined and understated. Reminds me of a classic watch whereas the anodized black is more trendy and modern. I also agree, the silver model is/will be far more versatile when it comes to strap colors.

I thought I was going to go with silver, as I definitely liked the look of it in pics better than the black. Then I tried them both on at the store, and I actually liked the look of the black on my wrist better than the Silver. Very tough choice, but I went for black. Love that gray band on the silver one, though.
That watch band is the best damn band I have ever worn. I would probably pay $70 just for the band. LOL. I usually swap to NATO straps, but I will keep this one as is!

I'm the opposite lol I want the glacier and black front and I hope thats what I got lol US here and preordered on the website. The white front is ugly to me lol so many sensors visible

I don't remember which site I read it on but the statement was that Gold and Glacier Silver/White are not available for the US.
The US website we all ordered from shows Carbon Grey/Black and Glacier Silver/Black as that's all that is currently available for the US. Personally I chose Glacier Silver/Black :good:
As you can imagine this may change in the future with Carrier Branded versions like the M7 did when it ended up available in Blue and Red.
The only choices currently available on the website are Carbon Gray and Glacier Silver. I pre-ordered the Glacier Silver.

I am also confused about this. Here in Denmark the glacier silver apparently has a white front. But I also see some videos with black front, wich looks way better IMO.
how can one get the red version?

Cases are so ugly and bulky though. I haven't used a case on my phone in ~5 years. I'd rather light wear and tear than an unsightly case. Obviously this is a matter of personal opinion, but mine is very much anti-case.

I want to avoid a case this time but slippery phone is always an issue. Do you put skins or anything like that?
I don't. We'll see how slippery the 10 is. My first M8 was in the gunmetal finish and it was definitely slippery enough to drop. My current M8 is red which has a more matte finish which is much easier to grip. It looks like the 10 has the same matte finish but I can't confirm.
