[Q] Sprint Galaxy Nexus upon activation "update failed"

okay, i searched, i swear i did - i just need a little help, my wife's phone updated to Jelly Bean OTA the other day, and she was playing with mine and saw i was running Codename Android 3.5.0 - she loved the added profiles in settings and wanted me to throw the rom onto her phone, so i did.
now i never had any problem with mine, but hers started up, went through the Google restoration prompts, and then went through the Sprint profile activation as always when you activate a new phone/new rom, except hers said it failed to update the profile.
i'm not as familiar as i'd like to be with PRLs and profile activation and date profiles, so i just went into settings>about phone>Sprint system updates and tried to get it to update the profile, multiple times in fact, but to no avail - it keeps saying it failed on her phone.
i tried mine and it works flawlessly, same set up, same phone, same rom - i took all the same steps to update hers as i did mine and i don't get it.
any ideas?

Wipe cache and dalvik in recovery and fix permissions. Then make sure you have a network connection and update profile. Then power off for 2 minutes when you turn it back on all should be well. This happens to me all the time.

thanks for the reply!
i tried this out, twice, and it didn't work - so i decided to reflash the new radios (FH05 zip) i found on here through clockwork, and BAM! - worked immediately upon reboot of the phone.
seriously thanks for the help though.

I am experiencing this problem too, except a radio re-flash did not work. I'm gonna upload what i'm seeing. I can't send or receive MMS, but data still works.

Phone info setup as a device administrator

Hello,
I have had my phone for a while now, but today was the first time since I got the phone that I looked at the device administrators area (settings / security / device administrators) and I noticed that there was an item called "Phone Info" that was activated by default and after reading about what it is supposed to do, I decided to deactivate it, but I was unable to do so. My questions therfore are:
1.) what is the purpose of this item?
2.) why can I not deactivate it?
3.) is it normal for it to be activated by default?
4.) if is not needed than how do I get rid of it?
In case it helps, my phone is rooted and I am still running the stock 4.1.2 ROM that came with the phone.
A few days ago I tried out the "All In One" 4.3 Stock ROM from Thunder Stick, but it was not working for me to well so I restored my nandroid backup of my original stock ROM so I am not sure If the other ROM has anything to do with it or not or if the setting has always been like that, but as I said before, I just noticed it today and would like to know what it is and how to deactivate it if I can.

Here is another one that shows the permissions dialog and where I should be able to deactivate it, but pressing the deactivate button has no effect.

That is weird. I am checking my s3 now but this is all it shows on my optimus G. Maybe it is a Samsung thing?

Edit: here is what my s3 shows under those settings, but remember, my s3 isn't activated. Maybe it is just the activation stuff?

Thanks for the reply. After doing some research I have discovered that it is part of some corporate security thing that sprint has on some of the newer s3's (see the attached screenshot) Anyway, I have frozen the app since there is no way to disable it. That will work for now until I change my stock ROM in a few weeks.
If anyone else has this app setup as a device administrator and wants to disable it than you can use the pro version of titanium backup or the free version of sd maid to freeze the app like I have done. Note, your phone must be rooted to use these apps.

[Q] issue with verizon lg g3 custom roms

Hi xda ! I'm hoping someone can help me ! I have a Verizon LG g3 I was messing with custom rooms and I flashed cm11 I believe and decided I didn't like,it ( I know weird) but I flashed back the the Rom I liked prior and realized my phone didn't recognize the SIM anymore. So I tried different rooms and have come to the conclusion it won't read Sims anymore. I want to uproot and go to complete stock, I have tried the different ways online and I can't find how to change port settings. If someone could assist me in either flashing back or any ideas on why it won't recognize Sims because I want to fix it that would be great! Have you tried turning off your phone > pulling your battery out > pull out your SD card and SIM > Clean them up nicely, blow a few times in the SIM/SD card hole on your phone > re-insert > Boot up your phone.

Anyone know this popup? I thought it was some third software problem. But after I factory reset, this still happen.
It happens like 3-4 times per day. It doesn't seem to effect anything but it just annoys me sometimes.

Never had this with WW version, do you have the Chinese version? You can translate the message to english.

It looks like it might just be pulling a string from an app somewhere. I would suggest reinstalling the system partition from stock.

And I already tried factory reset.
Now I'm trying to see if the problem caused by sim card or not.
I tried disable sim card yesterday and the popup does not show. I will try putting it back today.

FYI... this message is gibberish.
I had two people that are fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as well as someone fluent in Japanese look at this. It means nothing. There are no legible words in this string of "text". No idea what's causing this. Perhaps try a different language pack and see if that helps.

Yes you have a ww version base on your o.s but the original phone you have i think is a cn version with a ww o.s installed...have you checked the box ? What does it says ww or cn?

If you have been getting OTA updates then it is WW. If you have not been getting them and have been updating manually then it's most likely CN, but it could be a TW version as they apparently update to WW at the first update.

This stiil happen after I change sim card. I even have the new chinese message now. Looks like disable cellular data make this popup gone.

Now I found the way to reproduce this. This pop up always show when I switch from 3g to wifi. Switch off 3g first and then switch on wifi will cause this popup.

Question 9 Pro doesn't have access to all storage?

I'm at a loss here. Updated to c61 today, and it's been goofy. I can't install local upgrade (was gonna try to dirty flash), I can't enable RAM boost (not a big deal), and I can't save cropped pics in the gallery app. I'm not sure if it's related, but apps are randomly cloning themselves, too. Does anyone have any ideas?

Stay on OOS 11, nothing compares, no custom ROM nor ColorOS comes close. Custom ROMs are riddled with bugs, and COS is the same.

Also, flashing custom ROMs might introduce more issues at times. I flashed one and couldn't update properly. Then my phone broke and can't use T-Mobile MSM, it's permanently set to IN.

the c61 itself has a local update in it, with the c61 you don't need the local update.apk and that the RAM boost can't be activated for you (I think you're rooted) with root I couldn't activate RAM boost either.
just as with the c61 the RAM see your pic and mine is displayed in a different place if you have root, just like then (without root) another menu opens if you press the 12 GB Ram woman then extra RAM (this menu is not there with root )
