[Q] ROM missing on /sdcard - HTC One X

Hello all,
I was following this thread after having installed Beanstalk 4.4 for my HTC One X. I wanted to return my phone to original again, but this seems a lot more difficult that changing the Beanstalk.
I have followed most of the instructions on this thread below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2675872&page=2
However at the part it asks you to remount the sdcard i seem to have lost the rom from my sdcard and now i dont know how to get it back on there?? please can someone help me?
phone is HTC_032 and the PJ4610000
I have flashed the boot.img from the ROM "One_X_4.18.401.3_odexed.zip"
I have flashed the recovery and now have Philz Touch 5 installed
But as i have no ROM's to be found on the phone i cannot install anything (OS/Rom).
Please can someone help me, seems i have done something wrong (noob) and desperately need some help. I use this phone for work as well so any help i can get to get me up and running again will be more than appreciated.
Please Help
Tom

It's all ok, no neet to reply to this post...
Mounted to USB in recovery and then copied the ROM over the the phone, Rom installed fine and phone now up and running again
:cyclops::cyclops::cyclops:

There is another way I use to keep flashing ROMs without copying them into my sd card, thats is more fun for me , which is sideload , try it, it seems faster for me

Problems flashing, need help please!!!

Ok, so here is what I have done: I have already rooted my phone, etc, and have flashed some different roms on my phone, and have not had any problems until now. I recently tried the miui rom, but didn't like it.I just flashed the newest miui rom, and it was acting really weird, so I decided to go back to the virtuous rom which I had used before. For whatever reason, I am getting this error: E: can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (file exists), and the installation aborts. I did the wipe data deal, and I also tried to reinstall the miui rom. It says that installs fine, but it won't get past the htc incredible screen. Any suggestions? Also, I didn't want to try this and mess things up further, but can I restore a backup I had done when I had the virtuous rom installed, or do I have to have the rom already working properly? Kind of a noob question, I know.

Hmmm... Do you have any Nandroids from earlier roms? That'd be the easiest route.
If not, since you can't even get to a homescreen, you might try an RUU reset, but let's hope it won't come to that for now.
I get that too, but only when going into the menu for Dalvik Cache wiping, and it never actually gets in my way, it just pops up and then I can keep going on about my business.
1. yes you can restore the backup whether a rom is currently working or not
2. post questions in the correct forum
If you can't get a nandroid backup to work, you may have to RUU back to stock.
Here's the older one that will still let you use unrevoked after. Just rename this PB31IMG.zip, load up H-boot, follow the prompts, and be patient. Then run unrevoked when it finishes and install rom manager to restore your backup. If the backup still won't work, try a fresh install of virtuous.
Sorry

My apologies, where should I have posted? And can I move the thread so it is in the correct place?

Probably in the Q & A General Forum, but don't worry about it this time, just as long as it doesn't end up being a frequent thing.
But I don't know about being able to move the thread, I think that's a Moderator power.
Regarding your issue though, either use the RUU link posted above, or try Nandroid-ing back.
No go
I tried restoring a backup, and got cannot mount /data, along with the previous error... It changed my boot animation, but has not restored my phone. should I do this RUU back to stock? Sorry for not being very good at this, and I definitely appreciate the help.

It's cool.
Yes, you'll need it on the root of your SD-card (not in any folders), run it through hboot, and then you'll have to re-run the unrEVOked tool from your PC. I would also suggest running the S-Off tool afterwards, just to be safe. That has saved me once before.
Make sure you have at least 50% battery before you do the hboot flash. VERY IMPORTANT. If your phone dies or loses power while updating the radio files from the RUU, your phone is as good as bricked.
If you get stuck with the unrEVOked tool at waiting for root for more than fifteen minutes, post back here again and we'll continue from there.
EDIT: Actually, run the unrEVOked Forever S-Off tool through CWM recovery before doing this, as a pure precautionary measure.
I'm an idiot apparently
Well, I am really sorry guys, I won't ask any more questions on here. Apparently I am super stupid. I figured it out, I left out some info because it didn't even register as relevant, but it was the key apparently. So I just go a new sd card, and I formated it on my computer, and just dropped the zip files on there, and was trying to flash like that, and apparently the phone didn't like the new sd card, or it needed info off the old one, because once I put it back in and tried flashing from it, it works fine now. Sorry for bothering everyone, I am going to go sit in the corner in shame now.

Glad you figured it out. Be sure to make a backup of your current rom on your new SD card right away haha.

[Q] Error while trying to flash ROM on rooted EVO. Help please.

Hey people!
I read a few posts dealing with same error below, but the descriptions of the problem was a bit different so I wanted to be sure.
I'm quite new to this so bear with me. I got an EVO last month (dec 24) and have since wanted to root. I've been reading up on it, and finally decided to root using Unrevoked earlier today. The root process worked perfectly, so I proceeded to create a nand backup and flashed the CM6 Mod using Clockworkmod rom manager app.
I was a bit excited played around with it a bit, and decided to flash the Miui ROM. I placed it on the root of my SD card, and this is where I lost control. I tried to flash using the ROM manager and it never completed, citing an error. I tried to reboot phone but I didnt get past the white HTC EVO 4G screen. I entered bootloader, and I tried to restore my original Nand backup but I keep getting this error, "Error while flashing boot image."
What would be the appropriate (or least risky) course of action? I can mount my SD card on computer through ClockworkMod recovery, should I try placing stock ROM zip or cm6 zip file and try to flash?
I do not think this is a battery issue, I had my phone plugged to charger while trying to flash nand.
I appreciate the help, I know I probably sound like a noob, but for almost a month I was reading, learning and trying to be careful (obviously not enough), once I rooted I got overzealous.
MOD Version is 2.5.0.1
Thanks for all your help,
DJ
I flashed a the recovery, after a few issues...my phone is back up and running...DISREGARD. Sorry for the noob ?.

[Q] Messed up my device

Hi to all!
This time I really think I have ****ed up my device, and I would really appreciate some help when trying to fix this.
At first I was running Oxygen 2.1.2 with the Data++ table. My device became slow (lots of apps) and I wanted to start fresh.
So I downloaded the new oxygen rom, and the new Oxygen R2 partition table.
I did a full wipe, installed sdk and android driver and tried to flash the new partition table. In the command prompt I was hanging at : Waiting for device...tried from a diffrent PC, same.
Who cares I thought, let me skip the partitioning. I tried to install the rom with the DATA++ table, rom install was hanging, I pulled out the battery and again rebooted in recovery..
To be sure, did a new wipe, deleted all from the phone and tried an other rom (CM7) this one installs but the phone wont boot, i ony see the spash screen (why so serious apharev -> did not change this).
What can I try?? Really want my phone working again!!!
You have not messed up a thing the roms probably just don't run on the partition you have, so either:
1. find a rom made for data++
or
2. Manage to flash the other hboots
feel free to pm for help on the second option(no need to have it in the forum, as it has been explained over many times).

[Q] Stuck on HTC Logo Screen

Hi there XDA Developers
I have a problem with my HTC Desire, that it gets stuck on the white screen with green HTC logo.
I have been using Neophytes AuraxTSense 8.1.3 for a long time, due to this problem. I wanted to test the new "true" Gingerbread ROMs, so i flashed a new ROM and the recommended radio.
I wipe everything - Data, cache, dalvik and battery.
When i reboot it get stuck on the logo screen as before mentioned.
I made a new partition on my SD card, because i read somewhere that it might be the problem that i was having. It formatted my SD card. So i don't have my recovery's anymore.. i thought they were saved on the phone itself :/
The ROM i have recently flashed/is flashed now is Leedroid 3.3.5
I hope you can help me..
If you need further information, ask me to elaborate
Thanks

I have been using the search, but i did not seem to find anything that could solve my problem.
Hold down and power, wait a moment then choose 'recovery', does this take you into your recovery? If not, find the right ruu for your desire and flash back to stock. Unless you are s off, and have sdk installed that's your only option I think.
Yeah, it does take me to recovery.
But, wipes doesnt work.
Nor does Clear Storage
Did u restore ur system in recovery?
Ur phone seems to turn into semibrick.
There are some ways to fix it,use google.
There are no recoverey, due to the format on the SD card.
I made a log, and mounted the USB storage from recovery

I can't.
That guide needs the phone to be fully booted :/
EDIT: Reason
... No one !?
I would like a working phone soon
You have a few choices:
1 - Restore your phone from a Nandroid backup using the recovery console.
2 - Restore your phone from a Nandroid backup using Fastboot (if recovery doesn't work)
3 - Download and Transfer a new ROM image to your phone through recovery mode / by putting your SD card into your computer. Re-flash the new ROM and see if you get any further.
The issues you are describing are all too common, which is why you have received very little help. Do some searching with google and sort as much of it out for yourself, you'll learn much more that way.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Slow Internet

Hello everyone and greetings from Finland
First i must say that this is my first android phone so i am a total newbie.
I have the Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 and its updated with the Kies program from gingerbread to jellybean 4.1.2.
After the upgrade the internet is very slow (i dont use wifi), sometimes i cant get the connection at all and overall the phone is not working properly.
I send the phone to service when i have warranty left. The circuit card was changed to a new one but the phone acts the same way, i have also made factory reset but nothings helps. I dont also have many apps etc. installed so that cant be the reason.
What do you guys think would be the best solution ? Internet was working better with gingerbread so should i downgrade back to gb or maybe try a custom rom
Many thanks in advance guys
About downgrade to GB i also think about it every day, because it works best with GB. But I'm already used to JB. If you wish to stay at stock 4.1.2 try Kyrillos V9, great rom, ore Team Canjica CM 10.1 those two are bugfree as far as I know, maybe it will help.
Thanks for your reply !
I forgot to say that i use my phone almost for basic use sms, internet, photos, music editing , gmail etc. and of course i want to try different apps. But Galaxy ace 2 has so low memory that it barely runs even for basic use
I would like to keep jellybean 4.1.2 and try a rom but it has to be stable so i dont have to panic if something goes wrong
nusko_x mentioned Kyrillos rom and Team Canjica CM 10.1, are they stable and easy to use for a newbie like me ?
There are sooo many roms out there that i get confused

you can get cyanogenmod 10.1 for a really bugfree and smooth experience and yes you can always swap your memory to get rid of the low memory issue
@NangaParbat75: Do you get HSDPA when browsing? (You see a "H" in the statusbar when you have HSDPA connection).
Thanks guys !
I will try the cyanogenmod 10.1 , isnt this the right link for install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452315 ?
But before that i have questions. I have searched about what to do before installing the new rom but i have got mixed answers or then i havent understood it.
So, after rooting the phone i back up data etc. and for me especially back up the whole rom i have before installing the new one.
But regarding this "backup" progress, in what particular order is it done, do you guys maybe have a good link ?
Then a stupid question about the SD card , all i have is the microsd that came with the phone when i bought it. Is it enough ?
@Frankie73 , i have the "H" in the statusbar when surfing so its ok i think ? Here where i live the connection is not so good but it worked quite good before upgrading..

OK, when you see the "H" then the connection speed should be ok. So maybe the problem is the browser itself? I noticed that some browsers, that worked very well for me on GB, didn't do well on JB. Dolphin for example. So maybe just try another browser. For me the best is Next Browser, but there are a lot to try out / choose from.
@Frankie73 i have now nextbrowser but its the same and i have tried many others, thanks anyway.
I have done more research and if i have understood it right the Team Canjica cyanogenmod 10.1 doesnt require root access ?
So basically i only have to unlock bootloader to flash the custom recovery and get nandroid backup, and then i am ready to install cyanogenmod ?
Is this safe to do , i mean think if something goes wrong and i loose the nandroid backup ? Then the phone is gone ..
AFAIK you don't need root for CM. Just install temporary CWM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141395) and you should be able to flash CM10.1. And yes, I think it's save when you do a backup, although I never had to use it myself since I never had any problems when flashing CM10.1 or CM11. Besides backup you can always use odin to flash the official JB.
Thanks for your reply !
Now i know that CM has root-access but i am still confused how to back up the whole device if something goes wrong.
So please, what is the best way to do the whole backup ? @Frankie73 , what do you mean with "use odin to flash the official JB" ?
And then there is the Bootloader thing. Should i unlock it ?
Can i try non-rooted roms in the future even if Bootloader is locked ?
-I dont think our bootloader is locked :/
-Do a nandroid backup lol
-Odin is a windows app for samsung devices to flash stock firmware files :/
Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
Yeah, as Teddy said, no need to unlock bootloader on our device.
And what I meant was that if anything goes seriously wrong and you can't restore your backup, you still have the option to flash the stock Samsung JB through Odin.
Please hit the "Thanks" button if my posts were helpful for you
Sorry guys, now i hit the "Thanks" button for you !
I still have issues to clear out so please be patience.
Ok, so no bootloader unlocking.
At very first i will do a Nandroid Backup via Recovery and ROM Manager, but doesnt it require your phone to be rooted ?
Regarding the nandroid backup, it will be created on the SD-card , but does my phone have a SD-card ?
I havent bought any separate SD-card , the phone has a microsd card that came with it when i bought the phone.

Just open the slot on the side of your Ace2 and check if there's a sd card inside If not go and get one - you will need it if you will use custom ROMs.
I don't know if root is needed for doing a full backup but rooting from stock JB is really very simple:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139263
It's done in less then 5 minutes.
Ok, i will buy a 8gb Sd-card, that should be enough
So, I will do the following:
1. Root the stock JB
2. Make a Nandroid Backup via Recovery and ROM Manager
3. Install Cyanogenmod 10.1 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452315
Is this correct ?
1. Root not needed for cwm to work
2. No theres a temp cwm in dev forums. Dont use rom manager
3. Btw backups are usually 800mb-1gb+ so make sure you have space
Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
I am confused
So what is the difference between permanent and temporary CWM ?
The words 'permanent' and 'temporary' are in dictionaries :/
Perm- forever(until you change)
Temp- stock recovery installed so you must flash temp cwm everytime you want to use it.
Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
Thanks again for reply !
So with temp cwm i also get the nandroid backup ?
Lets say that something goes wrong and i want my stock jellybean back, what do i have to do then ?
Yes you can backup with temp cwm
Flash stock jb via odin
