Does it light up when set to auto and you're in am area of low lighting? Does the flashlight app light up the light?

It works all the way fine when in auto and the led lights up when using the flashlight apps...only in cameta mode .when set to manuall on .,it doesn't lit up.

Er, seek and ye shall find.
You can use apps such as Screen Filter or Screen Adjuster.
Try lux it has sub zero brightness (lower than lowest normal brightness)

mods present in most roms have a setting to lower the brightness settings. at least arhd and viperx do.

why would you want it disabled?
Because i like to put my hands in my pants pocket and it keeps vibrating. So it would be more power saving if i disable it

Probably some aosp thingy, it's the same on miui roms.
