Hey guys I came across this website today and was wondering if anyone has applied this to any of their previous or current devices. This company States that they can water proof your phone completely inside and out.

Ah yeah I actually saw that video yesterday. There really aren't many people with reviews out there though to get a good opinion. The product is almost too good to be true though.

my buddy did this to his N5 and said it came out great. i never asked if he ended up testing it, but he's had no issues with it.
I read somewhere that the texture of items with this treatment feels somewhat different. I can't find the link the the source, but someone had mentioned that it felt grainy. Something like that is scary to me- anyone have any experience?
They accept no responsibility??? $60 buys you jack ****! For $60 I would expect some sort of warranty.

Yeah! Cause your phone won't be completely submerged but it would have slobber on it. Are you considering getting it? I can't really justify the cost because I baby my phones and only have water damage one phone while was my tmobile sidekick 3.

Can you get him to post a mini review on here or pass on his knowledge to this thread? Would love to hear how his device feels and how it's holding up.

There's plenty of videos on YouTube about this. One of the more normal ones (meaning not from a known personality) is from some Asian guy who said it actually didn't work with his iPhone. Water sensor was red. But then his phone ended up fine. Something like that.

Na, I don't think I would get it. It looks pretty cool, but it's a little extreme for my needs. Neat concept though.

There has been a thread or two. Not really what I was aiming at. I clicked the link and saw "angry birds in the shower, at last". Really? Lol. I think people would rather have turd resistant phones if they want to play games when you should be doing your business. This is all a gimmick anyways. Too many variables and would be best performed by design by a manufacturer.

Truly waterproof gadgets are one of things like incredible new types of batteries/mini fuel cells and wireless charging that have been tipped to be the next big thing for years now, yet never quite seems to take off.
I mean, nearly four years ago now Golden Shellback was doing the rounds on various tech sites and that seems to have been that - never amounted to anything.

I don't think you are spamming but I don't think I would send my phone to someone to have them do it, this is something I would rather buy a phone straight from the manufacturer with this as a feature. Kind of like the Droid Razr which is about as water resistant as I would need a phone.

They don't promote it as waterproof. It clearly saying water resistant. But in a perfect world its undetectable and it coats all the moisture stickers so warranties stay fine

Personally i don't understand the concept of making your phone totally waterproof. Water resistant to spills or rain yes. Accidentally dropping the phone into a puddle but pulling it out real fast yes. I mean I dont know of any situation I will be sitting around and find myself pouring a water over my phone right after i stuck it in a glass...
This is what liquipel is good for and why I'm waiting for them to do the Nexus:

Wasn't there something at ces that will make it water proof but has to be done during manufactureing?

If they have to open it to apply it, it would.
When I watched the demo at CES they stated they do not need to open the device. They put the phone into a machine that released a 'fog' which spreads through the phone which waterproofs it.
looks neat and if you are one of those people dropping $40 on a case you probably wouldnt mind dropping the $60ish it looks like it costs. I'll be considering this.
How do water damage indicators work with this?

Not really happy that it's only Level II, but my phone is on the way.
I wish with this kind of technology, phone manufacturers would just add this to their manufacturing processes. obviously no one would because it would be higher cost and less revenue from non covered accidental damage.... Sigh

Liquipel...
I got Liquipel on my iPhone 4 back in June and it’s saved it from getting destroyed at least three times. I even dropped it in a bubbling jacuzzi and it survived. I’ve been a believer ever since. You can’t tell anything has been done to it either, it comes back all clean in a nice metal container with a microfiber pouch. None of the water sensor stickers changed color when it got wet so even if it fails I can get a new phone on Apple. All in all I’d say its worth the $59. You no longer have to worry about losing a phone over a spilled drink or a little rain. Just makes you feel good.
Liquipel is going to be at CES again this year can’t wait to check out the show, I hear rumors of a machine doing free treatments at the show. :good:
I have always owned and loved android devices since the g1. I always got carrier branded devices and switch every so often. I thought it would make sense to grab a gsm nexus so I started researching, and boy did I research. I thought that the price of a gnex from google is not bad and i had enought money to get one, but for whatever reason i figured i'd check ebay, but they sell for the same or more used. so I checked craigslist- on payday i saw what looked like a great deal... new gnex with extra battery 300, so i contacted the dude and met up about 40 minutes drive. the phone was in new condition there was the extra battery and vanilla ics, tried it made a call so i took it. while driving away i started playing with it.. i went to the camera app, got a message stating to insert sd card, i was like wth a gnex with an sd card. then i got a call the there was a flashing led at the bottom. i got home and examined it well, turns out its a fake ( my fingernail can operate the capacitve sereen) it looks so damn real... now im screwed out of 300 bux. I was so upset i went to google and got a new one, so I should have it soon... learnt my lesson well.- i really didnt think that fake phones existed and damn they did a great job... i think ill just give it to my son- he will by happy to have it
Pics or it didn't happen LOL. Can we see it? Wanna see how good of a "job" they did.

You didn't notice the feel of a resistive screen? It is distinctly different from a
Capacitive screen. Also always check the about phone, storage, EVERYTHING. I hope you learned your lesson, sucks for you :3
PS fingernails can't operate capacitive screens

Yeah that's a fake. The site even looks like amazon, with the way it's laid out and even some of the graphics.
This is why I like buying things eBay over CraigsList. eBay has gone to great lengths to protect buyers. With that being said it is such a pain any more to sell things on eBay (major hassle listing/shipping items, excessive fees, picky buyers) which is why I usually won't sell things on eBay any more.
In your case though you got a fake phone, which may have been hard to tell when you bought it but hypothetically if it were a Verizon phone for example it could have been completely real but may have been stolen and had a bad ESN. Even then though I believe you can check with the carrier to see if the ESN is clean. I guess what it boils down to is you just have to be very cautious whenever buying something from an 'un-trusted' source.
On a side note, I just received my Verizon Nexus that I bought on eBay for $240. This thing was listed at 'Used' but it is seriously in like new condition, not a scratch or scuff on it (and it came with a nice case). I am absolutely loving the phone so far. Only thing I don't like is that I didn't upgrade to it sooner.

I'm staying away from eBay and craigslist from now on, just for certain things I guess- i got a sweet shih tzu puppy for 300 bux on CL so I guess in the end it all evens out. I'll just get a simple mobile sim and give it to my kid, so its not a total loss, he will be happy with it. I'm just amazed of what a good job they did with it. and the fingernail test is how I narrowed it down - compared it to my girl's SG2. Im getting withdrawals waiting for the real phone to ship from google.

Hi there, the device has some curvature that can develop if you sit on it, put it in your pocket, and through normal wear and tear. And if it's within our manufacturing tolerance, then it's okay. It should lie fairly flat.

I originally just thought it might be the battery but after researching and watching some videos realized it's just the plastic from the heat of the chip!

If they just decreased the battery capacity I think it would fix the problem. And I for one would still take a Note 7 with a 3400, 3300 or even 3200mAh battery. But alas I've pre-ordered a Pixel Xl already.
There ae vids out there that drop the Note7 from 1000 feet on to asphalt They pick up the phone and start using it.
It's possible it's just random defects and it could be any phone.
I think the reason they dropped the note 7 is a marketing issue. The model is tarnished so they are just cutting their losses.
