Ok so i was running the note 2/3 rom I forget what it's called and my phone was randomly rebooting itself. So i wiped everything did a factory reset and went to install my old apps and i kept getting this stupid error when stuff from the market went to install. The same exact apps that were running on the same exact rom. So then i got fed up and wiped everything and installed the sks mk4 rom and I still have the same issue. What is going on with this?

Did you wipe the internal sdcard?

I found a little trick on the interwebs. Open up TB. Once it finishes loading, hit the menu key. Select batch operations. Scroll down and select the orphan data choice. Fixed me up a few times.

Well try the titanium backup method mentioned hopefully that will help. When changing roms it is alwats best to wipe your internal sdcard to avoid these kind of issues.

I had this last week. Couldn't get gmail to install, then a different app. Since I was using philz, there wasn't a fix permissions. If you're not using that recovery, try fixing permissions. If you are, use the app rom toolbox lite to fix it.
Ok so the titanium backup method worked as far as I can tell. Everything has installed since I did that. Now my problem is for some reason xda app keeps disappearing. The icon stays on my home screen but disappears from my app drawer. When I click on the shortcut on my home screen it tells me app isn't installed. Then I have to go to play store re install it and click the same shortcut and it opens

I've tried going to setting ms and clear the data for touchwiz. But to no avail... can anyone help me out? Are there any apk. File for me to reinstall? Much appreciated.

Is it giving a force close error, or just does it just re-launch touchwiz?
It doesn't even work. Each time i select touchwiz it will just freeze and shut. It won't launch. Any idea what went wrong

He said he new to android and not rooted.
Phone Settings > Application Manager > All ....
1. Go to Apex Launcher and clear any "default"
2. TouchWiz Home > clear data / cache (this will reset/wipe settings of your hide screens etc and you'll need to set them up again)

Non-rooted: just copy any important folders etc from the internal sdcard to PC. You'll need to setup again, so make sure contacts are also backed up etc. a You may also lose allot of app data, and most can't be backed up without root. Ensure you have copy of your APN and wifi settings handy.
Rooted users: Titanium Backup app (backup app and system data) and make a nandroid backup with CWM recovery. And also copy to PC. Before restore any system app or data (red colour) with titanium, just asking for bugs.

Both wont hurt. Make sure use use TDJ's cache wipe to properly fix permissions too.
Use Darkside Cache Wipe and it will fix the hang problem.

I'm wondering if any body is experiencing a notification issue/bug like me. I never receive the push notifications like I'm supposed to. I've noticed this happening with instagram, snap chat, twitter, and Facebook so far.
My brother, who has the same phone, receives notifications from instagram immediately. We're on the same wifi too.
I have no idea what's interfering with my notifications.
Can someone please help?
I've even tried flashing a custom rom and kernel. I think it's one of the things I've restored from titanium backup.
Should I try wiping data? Will it mess with my roms, or just all of the data I have on it (like apps and accounts)?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
i am looking for a solution for this as well.
i could narrow the issue down to titanium backup.
wiping the data of the app (via settings not titanium) is enough to get the notifications back. but restoring the data again with tb leads to some weird inconsistent effects.

Try reseting app preferences,
Settings/ application manager/choose all /hit menu/reset app preferences.
After you apply titanium backup update... everything is haywire. Usually that fixes alot.. normally youll receive a notif in from RED from titanium backup saying phone reboot recommended.
Just a idea to try

Kinda like clearing cache and resets them to original state, cleares bugs out.
Trust me it does good over harm, its a common practice .

Have you cleared data and uninstalled updates? Then reboot and give it time to reupdate?

Completely stock, nothing custom. I've tried clearing it from the apps. I'll try to uninstall updates.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Tried deleting the play updates, still same issue.. this is so frustrating.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
You may need to do the same on some other Google apps such as Google services framework and maybe a couple others that work along side the play store app. Can't remember them all right off hand.
When you say you're completely stock does this also mean you are not rooted? If you are rooted you can use titanium backup to backup all Google apps and data. Then clear data one by one till you find the culprit and then restore data for everything else.
Did you try deleting your account?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Completely stock, as I'm not rooted or anything. I tried everything, then I factory reset and its fixed.
