Hi all,
Ever since I upgraded to 4.4.2 I noticed that the sensitivity of the notification bar is horrible, it doesn't get pulled down from the first time..sometimes I need to pull it like 2 or 3 times for it to get down..is this a common problem or is there something wrong with my phone? I never had this problem in Jelly Bean.
Thanks in Advance.

For some unknows reason my status bar stopped working.
All updates or mail notifications shows up - but it's inactivated
so when I touch it nothing happens.
Untouchable - a bit more transparent than normal.
Really annoying ...
Same thing just happened to me. I started a new thread before I saw yours. I can't figure it out. Did you try a factory reset?

Haven't tried yet - spent so much time with installing and transferring.
Maybe it's the only ...
I tried a factory reset....still not working. Can't find a lot of other people with this. But I am sure that it is just a software issue. Let me know if you find a solution..I will do the same.
are you guys rooted? if so try reflashing the rom
I'm not rooted. Not sure how..but it might come to it. I am sure that this is a software problem and if I might have to wait till HTC sends there next update. This is the only problem I am having and I purchased it at a local shop where I live so I can always exchange it but th there seems to be a lot of problems out there and if I "roll the dice" I could get worse. It's really annoying but I can survive for a couple of weeks.

Landscape mode
I'm not rooted either.
Found out that my bar works in landscape mode.
feels like the phone is working even if it gets hot from time to time
and loosing signal (need restart then)
Someone has a clue about this bar problem? Reason?
Great find. Does the settings when your in the camera app work? Mine does not. It's like the top 1/2 inch of the phone won't register any touch. I am starting to think that it might be a hardware problem.
I agree
The top section register no touch
I agree - but don't know what to do.
HTC support?
Give this a try.. Apps > Settings > Display > G-Sensor calibration > Follow the on screen instructions. Then attempt to swipe down to access your notification bar.
I contacted supportand this is what they told me but it was too late and I already dropped by my local shop and exchanged it for a new one.
Let me know if this works. I would like to know just in case it happens again.
I hope it will be that easy for you. I spent so much time trying to figure this out last night and I don't think that I tried this.

Didn't work
The calibration didn't work.
Will speak to my company on Monday and have a new one.
Wish you good luck with your new.

yes. same here.... did anyone try flashing a new rom to get it to work? i have tried some but still failed....
also I noticed that sometimes the screen just froze, i wonder if theres anything to do with it.....
flash other roms and restoring back to stock didnt work... sigh all this happened after 3 weeks of usage.... i am kinda disappointed.. dont want to switch to S3 but I guess I will now....
some found how to fix this problem ??? i have this also right now
Same issue here. It is definitely a problem with the sensor at the top of the screen. I am rooted and installed Landscape Rosie (allows you to rotate sense in the landscape direction) and the notification bar works just fine in landscape but not in portrait. I am on the phone with AT&T as I write this. My phone is about 2 weeks old.

It might not be relevant, but this sub forum is for the Tegra3 version.
this is the same problem of the same tech, but the problem is there are no way to fix this problom
I got hit by this problem this weekend. I am quite surprised. Mine is one of the first few HOX's and there has been absolutely no problem with the phone.
In my status bar, I had the GSam Battery monitor, Bonny Box, swipe pad and the Easy battery saver. The problems started when I installed Bonny box and it constantly moved up and down, inside the status bar....sorta kept flickering everytime I pulled down the bar. I uninstalled bonny box since I didnt really need it. Things didnt really improve...the flickering continued.
Then I installed Notification Toggle late last week and then this problem hit me. Had about 5 shortcuts in the status bar. The status bar just would not respond until I restarted the phone. So I removed the battery monitor and saver from the status bar. Problem persisted. I removed the notifications from the bar and restarted and no problems then. I ran it like that for a day and then put back only the notifications into the status bar and havent had any problems yet.
I am going to put the Battery monitor and saver back tonite and lets see then what happens...
I am not rooted and everything is stock. India version. Hope it helps. Let me know if any more information from my end helps.

Anyone else having sleep of death issues recently on JB? Im running the stock JRO03C Build rooted, busyboxed, and deodexed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849), and only MOD I have on top of that is a battery percentage mod(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738335). Recently in the past week or so I've had a few sleep of death incidents. This morning was one of them where my alarm didn't go off! My notification light was on, and my phone was plugged into the charger, but couldn't wake it. Anybody else experiencing this issue, or have any suggestions of things to look at/try? All the other threads on this are from ICS, so not sure if they would apply since this in on pretty much stock JB.
I don't know but think people either don't know the meaning of stock or I have to learn the meaning
What you described is not stock Rom.and to your answer no I don't get sod.
True. I'm not on stock, I guess I meant to say that my ROM was created from stock. Good to know that someone else is not experiencing this though. Thanks.
The only issue I have is that the phone freezes after recieving or making a call.
That happened about two times only.
I only have about two weeks with the phone and I upgraded to JB as soon I got the phone. I didn't even run the setup wizar in JB: just unlocked the bootloader and flashed 4.1.
I though it was a bad flash and applied the yakju 4.0.4 factory image and the flashed the OTA to get stock JB 4.1.1. I had the issue only one time with that setting.
Right now, my phone is completely yakju. I don't remember my variation. I just recall it came with 4.0.1 and upgraded itself to 4.0.2 and no more.
Cheers!

I was running stock 2.3.2 on my Evo Shift and was experiencing this issue. try backing up your sd card onto your desktop and then formatting it. it worked for me. I run an unofficial version of cm9. the only issue i still have is that my htc logo that shows at boot is still gone, and with that gone I cant easily select items in hboot/fastboot on the device. but thats for another forum for another day.

1. 2.3.2 isn't JB.
2. The GNex doesn't have an SD.
3. It's also NOT an Evo shift.
4.Nice first post.

good point. i also was wrong about the sd card anyways. i flashed cm9 back on it. turned auto brightness off. it had the issue. rebooted. turned it back on. re-enabled autobrightness. no issue.
thanks for the compliment.
I'm on 4.2 and have the issue. A few times a day, I'll pull it out of my pocket and I see the "backlight" turn on but screen is on. (I'm not sure how there is a backlight if is amoled but i do see some kind of something very very faint )
In Developer Options put all animation scales to .5x.

I experienced a similar issue on 4.1, but it would happen almost once day (very annoying). I'm now on a 4.2 rom and I haven't seen the issue in weeks.
So apparently from these two threads
:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/33834-screen-is-black/
http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...5-screen-randomly-goes-blank-since-4-2-a.html
some people have been experiencing problems after moving to 4.2 with the screen randomly going blank while the device is still functional. I'm hoping the problem will be addressed and fixed when 4.2.2 comes out but until then are there any roms left that still use 4.1? Has anyone experienced this problem on a 4.1 rom?
Wheres bk when you need him?
those threads are from last year.. Our fine devs have taken us far in that time.
a simple search would show you that 4.1 roms are still around and also answer your second question
second thread was only two months ago and i experienced the problem with the 1-18-13 build of blackbean7 & JBSourcery V4.4.
Hopefully I dont have the same problem with blackbean6
havent had the problem since switching to blackbean 6 (4.1.1) so i guess i wouldn't be able to use 4.2
Hi,
I experienced all issues related to galaxy nexus charging since form 8month, namely
Thunderbolt always apeears on battery icon
Randomly screen back light turning on
Phone think it's charging when not
Also i tried all the things mentioned on the forums, but any of it unable to solve this permanently. Yesterday i flashed google new stock rom 4.2.2 (JDQ39). Happy to inform you all issues related charging goes away.
If any of you facing above mentioned issues, try new stock rom 4.2.2 (JDQ39), definitely it will solved your problems.
Thanks google for solving this.
Not exactly. I had Phantom charging problem on my Gnex. And yesterday i installed JDQ39. Now battery icon stop jumping on charging and back. but also screen backlight problem stayed...
Hey Guys,
ive flashed the WanamLite Rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928227) and everything seems to work fine.
But recently ive noticed two problems.
The first is a notification about the SE for Android. That it has been deactivated and i have to tip for more information. Whats up with that?
The other thing is that i cant use the encryption functionality. It seems to start but then suddenly i got a black screen and after some seconds the device reboots normally. Any ideas? Solutions?
Thanks in advance.
Seems= sim :what:
How should that help me out?
