I recently updated my CM install from 10.1.X to 10.2.1
Shortly (Immediately?) after doing this, I noticed my network connection speed “E” (edge) and horrendously slow as you know.
I tried everything I could think of but nothing was getting me back to 3G.
So I decided to revert to 10.1.X to see if the update was cause of the problem I had issues reverting back – bootup got stuck at spinning CM logo. So I decided to just go back to 10.2.1 at that point and figure out why I was stuck with “E” on that build
Successfully went back to 10.2.1 – including the update gapps package.
I can not figure out why my phone is stuck on the Edge network at this point. Entirely unusable.
Side note: When on WiFi, the "E" goes away, but obviously it doesn't matter, and I'm guessing this is just a cosmetic thing.

I can't seem to fix my signal after flashing a ROM anymore. only get 1x which is only better than no signal at all. At one time in the earlier releases of M.O.A.R I was getting LTE and 3G with no problems then later releases I've lost both. I unrooted and went back to stock and my 3G was back and rooted again, went back to MOAR and still no 3G. So now I'm on beenstalk and still cant get a signal. I love both of these ROMS hands down and would like to fix this issue without experimenting with every ROM in the forum. Has anyone else had this issue? I've resetted radios flashed different modems (except MK3) and I still end up with bad network. I need help
Open the dialpad, and then ##72786# . The Device will reboot a few times. Just let it do it's thing. It will go through the Handsfree Activation Process. This will reset your Data.
Hello Everyone. I've searched XDA and the net high and low trying to figure out what is going on here, but it has come time to post. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Bought my S3 from T-Mobile a few years ago, have installed a number of roms on it, but most recently updated to CM 10.2. I started having boot issues (phone would stop booting after a couple of restarts, not a sudden death syndrome phone, BTW). After using ODIN to load on root66-UVUEMJC (tmobile 4.3), and running into more issues, I ended up loading Stock 4.3 from Kies (yes, I realize this is a horrible mistake now).
That got me on my feet again, I used ODIN to install clockworkmod rom manager, then re-installed CM10.2. It was at this point where I noticed that I no longer had cellular network connectivity anymore. I've tried another t-mobile SIM in my phone to make sure it wasn't that, and it had the same problems:
On startup, my phone will connect to the cellular network and fill in all the fields under Status (including IMEI), but after a minute or so, I loose that and the device goes to "No Service". Nothing I've tried has been able to get this fixed. I have attempted to flash the latest modem as well with no luck.
As mentioned, any help would be greatly appreciated on what to look for / do to get this thing working so I don't have to drop a load on a new phone.

ok so basically im running cyanogenmod latest nightly and i went to upgrade to 4.3 rom touchwiz and this is both of the latest 4.3 roms on the forums. and booth of them when i get them installed each time i dont get 4g or 3g. so
i dont have a clue what this could be. so i thought i would run it by you guys
is there a certain way i have to go about flashing to 4,3 touchwiz
when i try flashing the new mk4 update its successful but when i load up to the setup screen i dont get any data until i set the network mode to 3g but thats all i get i get full 4g service in my area and this is not normal. when im running the latest cyanogenmod build i get 4g and 3g no problem. lookin for a fix to this
Yeah.... So I updated my ROM to the newest carbonROM nightly.... Suddenly I couldn't pick up lte, only 3g. So... I reverted to a previous backup. Didn't fix it. So... I flashed to a touchwiz based ROM, updated prl and profile. It said I had 4g but I'm pretty sure touchwiz just lies and says it has 4g. So I flashed back to the version of carbonrom I had been using previously without issue, still only 3g. Flashed mk3 modem, booted back up, no connection at all. Flashed back to md4. Still no connection. So I restored to a backup of vanir ROM. No dice. Still no connection at all. Flashed back to touchwiz, no connection. So I updated profile and prl. Nothing. Flashed mk3, nothing. Used the code to factory reset and reprovision the phone. Got data back. Again, touchwiz lies about 4g. So I restored my phone to an old carbonrom that I had had no issues with, and I'm only getting 3g. Seriously, what happened and how do I fix it?

Of course, after I take the time to write this, I get a text saying my provisioning was successful and it starts working
I have spent countless hours restoring the stock firmware, re-rooting, updating, and even replacing the SIM in order to figure out why out of the blue during a simple reboot my S3 decided not to communicate with anything but Edge and an ocasional call. The IMEI was set to zero and now is reset (using QPST) and the phone is talking to the network just fine (according to several senior level support techs!). WIFI is working. The modem signal strength is weak.

I am back to running @PwnCakes193 4.4.2 Quantum ROM and I am at a loss! No LTE, 3G, and poor signal quality.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated! I have been flashing ROMS and android devices for YEARS and never have I been so stumped!

I am having the same issues after flashing Validus 5.0 RC1 (Kitkat 4.4.2) I am back on CM 10.2.1 now and it has been holding signal, but it still drops occasionally. I was wondering about flashing back to stock and re-rooting re-flashing.. But, not sure if a) that will work b) which stock to flash back to (I originally rooted from 4.1.2 if I remember correctly
