Using ODIN to install stock rom = soft bricked phone - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I wanted to install (some other rom) since I had battery drain issues with Stock 4.3 so I decided to root the phone with the MrRobinson method.
1 - I installed the Samsung drivers
2 -Set the phone to USB debugging
3 - Used volume down+menu button to go into download mode.
Then plugged the phone in and waited for the drivers to load.
Then loaded Odin, went to PDA and loaded the file for Fido (my carrier).

The check sum came back okay.
I clicked start and then this is the message log from ODIN:

I've tried the process a dozen times with the exact same result.
On regular boot the phone goes to a screen with "Firmware upgrade encountered issue - please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Kies says it can't communicate with the phone.
If I press Volume up + Menu I can't get into recovery mode, I get the same error screen as regular boot.
Help?

You have the i747 from AT&T? If you do, you cannot downgrade the 4.3 bootloader. Any attempts to flash an older bootloader will brick the phone and this seems to have happened to you.
.

Sorry wasn't clear, I have tried to root following the MrRobinson method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Uninstalled Kies
Restarted the PC
Pulled out the phone battery for 24h.
Installed the latest drivers from Samsung
Ran ODIN 3.0.7 as Administrator
Same error on ODIN as before.
Phone says:

Do you have an i747 or i747m?

i747
Update: I went and downloaded the custom ClockWork Recovery CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-V5.Tar.Md5 (http://d-h.st/am8)
Flashing this file with ODIN did work
I am able to enter recovery now by pressing volume up + menu
I put TeamEpic-Root-From-Recovery-V5.Zip (http://d-h.st/Gax) on my SD card
Booted to recovery.
In recovery>choose zip from sd card> install zip> I ran the TeamEpic-Root-From-Recovery-V5.Zip
The root worked.
I then did a factory wipe from recovery. The wipe worked and my phone has rebooted.
My phone has started working again.
I am getting a message "An attempt to access a secure area on your phone has been blocked."
Everything else is working again.

You have the 4.3 bootloader with Knox? This may explain why you got errors using Odin. The fido firmware is for the i747m, not the i747.

[Q] Stuck on Bootloop (logo flashes), and odin fails.

Hi all,
i'm new here and i need serious help here.
I just bought a verizon note 2 SCH- i605 from craigslist. It worked fine but the previous owner had it rooted, i had no idea where my mind was cause i just decided to unroot it and now it's stuck.
After I try flash in a stock rom using odin, it worked because the top left box on odin shows pass, and the message box says "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)". After that i don't know what went wrong, my phone just won't start. The logo "Samsung galaxy note II" blanks every 3 seconds besides that there's nothing i can do to make it turn on. I can't get into recovery mode using [vol up + home + power], BUT i can get into odin/download mode.
I've tried using odin v3.07 to flash in other stock roms or rooted roms, nothing goes beyond :
<ID:0/004> Initialzation..
<ID:0/004> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/004> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/004> recovery.img
<ID:0/004> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/004> FAIL!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Please let me know what I can do to fix it.
right now i don't even care if i get it back to stock rom or rooted state, i just need it to work.
Thank you very much.

Could you tell me which Stock Firmware did you flash was it for your device or some other i suspect you flashed the wrong firmware please download the correct firmware for your device based on your mode as it says SCH- i605
As aukhan said. Try flashing stock rom for YOUR MODEL SCH-i605!. NOT GT-N7100 or GT-N7105 or other.
1.Download this file Click me! and Click me!
2.After this, unrar these files. So output file will be .tar or something like that.
3.First file put into PDA and .pit file put into PIT.
4.Now just flash it.
5.Should work!
Please tell me if that worked for you.

If you want to revert to stock rom the best way if you use 3 or 4 piece flash file and a PIT file to reformat the whole flash and if possible higher version than the current bootloader to avoid a similar mistakes

It's running Stock ROM (Android 4.2.2), the files that i get when extracting the .Zip are:
I9195UBUBNB1_I9195ZTABNB2_I9195UBUBNB1_HOME.tar.md5
SS_DL.dll
I select the options in Odin as mencioned in the first post, but I can't make ti to flash the ROM.
Also, I don't know wich (higher level) bootloader should I install, nor where to get a PIT file.
PS: Zorry for my english.
Thanks in advice,
Ok.. Let's take it from the start and follow the sequence below to the letter..
1. Make sure you have the correct rom file for your phone model and that Samsung drivers are installed on your PC.
(If in doubt about the drivers, install Samsung Kies, restart and continue from there. Drivers will be installed with Kies.)
2. First start Odin (run as administrator, very important!)
3.Then start the phone in download mode.
4.Connect the phone to your PC.
5.Press volume up.
6.Wait for PC to recognise the phone.
7.Add md5 file to Odin in AP
Flash it..

I have the drivers installed (Odin recognizes the phones when connected), also I have installed Kies and Kies3.
Launch the Odin (v3.09) as administrator, select the ROM in the "AP".
Connect the phone in download mode (Press Menu + Down Key + Power, then Up Key to confirm).
Press Start and get the error mentioned in the first post.
I'm using the ROM named: ZTA-I9195UBUBNB1-20140414141930
When I see the information in my phone it says: I9195LUBUBNB1
Thanks in advice for helping.

Those two mean that your phone gets connected to Odin and then disconnected..
Also, I think your phone is the I9195 LTE and you are trying to flash the I9195 rom.
<ID:0/005> Get PIT for mapping
What PIT? You say you load only the rom, in AP..
<ID:0/005> sbl1.mbn
mbn ??? where did this come from?
I9195L is a different phone, as far as I know and read....Download the appropriate firmware for that and try again.
There seems to be a general difficulty with this modelhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2676271
Could the phone be locked to a specific provider? I don't know what else to propose, my friend..

Updated my S4 Mini with the latest stock firmware from Samsung

Hello!
I just "updated" the firmware after i got tierd of postponing it every 3 hours, but after the uppdate, i get com.android.systemui has stopped working.
The thing is that i cant do anything, i get to the "start" screen but the systemui keeps bugging out, so i cant access settings on the phone to turn on USB debugging, and cant seem to flash it with odin either,
What i have tried is:
wipe cache and factory reset
copy the I9195 stock rom to external storage and tried to apply it, just went back to recoverymode after 10 sec.
Download mode, Odin cant find the phone even though the drivers is install.
i can access the phone and external SD card when the phone is booted. But cant do anything.
Any tips?
Vince

re-part with pit file, still failed, with same error.
Don't add any PIT files. YOu will loose all your data with the following method.
- Download the latest unbranded 4.4.2 firmware for your phone from SamMobile.
- (if you have cwm recovery) Go to CWM recovery... (BE CAREFUL WITH THIS! IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, SKIP THIS STEP) mounts and storage and format system.
- delete cache and data from recovery.
- reboot your phone to download mode (if its telling you to press volume up or volume done, press the one needed to continue)
- go to odin, insert the .tar.md5 file into PDA/AP (choose the one that you got in your odin version)
- make sure ONLY 'F. Reset Time' and 'Auto Reboot' are ticked.
- start
- wait for 9mins30sec for the flashing to finish, then some more time to fully boot up.
Press THANKS if I helped!
Tried cf auto root, which worked, but still get the same error when i try to apply stock ROM

Try this to get into recovery:
- Remove the battery and keep it removed for 30 seconds.
- Place it back in and DO NOT turn the phone on.
- Press the Volume up, keep pressing it, press the Home button and keep pressing it, then press the power button and keep pressing it. DO NOT release any of them until you see something.
You should get 'Recovery booting...' in blue, and if that's the case, continue with my tutorial above.
If that also didn't work and you are sure you did everything right, I suggest you give it to customer service near you and let him fix it since it's bricked.
Or if you want to try to fix it yourself, read this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751224 and do the steps needed.

Note 2 seems bricked after trying to go back to stock firmware. Help needed!

Hi all,
I was using my Galaxy Note 2 with the latest Resurrection Remix ROM, but wanted to revert back to the stock firmware .
I downloaded the latest stock firmware and tried to flash it directly with ODIN.
Unfortunately, the process stopped at about 3/4 of the progress bar. I tried several time, changing USB ports and slots; even computer. After one try, the messages changed and the process stopped event before trying to write with the message : "There is no PIT partition".
The download mode shows the usual warning and download screen. But if I try to go in recovery mode or just boot normally, I get the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue...".
What I've tried so far:
. Flashing several stock firmwares via several version of ODIN.
. Kies upgrades (tried about everything there).
I also tried a PIT file, but got the message: "Re-Partition operation failed".
I really don't know what to try anymore
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
(edit -> oh, and I've also tried with firewall and antivirus out)

What you're trying to flash firmware 4.4.2 i hope, because if you're trying to flash a 4.3 is impossible the downgrade to do so because of Knox!
I was trying 4.4.2.... Does it matter if I was on a 5.x ROM?

Did you try a different USB cable or different Odin version?
Yes, I tried several USB cables and USB ports and PCs and about 10 different Oding version
I'm starting to think it's hopeless
I flashed CWP recovery from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000138
And it worked (at least Odin finished saying it was flashed ok). But if I try to go into recovery, I now get a 'Downloading' screen. When going to download mode, I have the normal screen, with a number of custom binary download increased by 1.
Anyone could advise on next steps I should try?
Thanks!
I managed to get back TWRP v2.8.7.0.
What would be the next steps to try and revert to the stock firmware?? Thanks!!
I used TWRP to reset and wipe everything, then ODIN to flash stock firmware.... And everything is now fine I've got the phone working perfectly with stock firmware!
Thanks!

SGH-M919: Complete(Write) operation failed when flashing stock 4.2.2 rom by Odin3

I have a Samsung SGH-M919 T-Mobile S4 phone which ran stock 4.2.2 firmware. It was brick when I tried to root it. It is able to go to download mode.
I downloaded M919 4files repair firmware (Odin3 v3.09.3, AP_M919UVUFNB4 stock rom , JFLTE_USA_TMO.pit..) from TSAR3000.com. I uninstalled Samsung Kies. It passed when run Odin3 with JFLTE_USA_TMO.pit. But it failed with message showed: Complete(Write) operation failed when I flashed downloaded stock 4.2.2 rom.
Do you have any experience to resolve this issue?
Do I use any wrong version of Odin3, M919 stock rom or .pit file?
Do you have exact worked SGH-M919 stock 4.2.2 firmware, Odin3 and .pit file so that I can fix my phone?
Thank you very much!

Try the stock firmware from sammobile.com. The pit file may not be required unless Odin cannot read the partition table from the phone.
I'd recommend flashing the lastest stock firmware:

Odin v3.09 has never given me problems. Follow the directions in the first post of the thread.
Can Not Enter Recovery Mode By Three Keys
Thank you very much for helping. I used another computer to run Odin3 and flashed full version 4.4.4 stock firmware successfully. Now the Samsung S4 is able to run 4.4.4 stock rom without any problem after root and TWRP 2.8.7.0 installed. I am able to reboot it to recovery mode from TWRP Manager which was downloaded from Play Store. But it NOT able to going to recovery mode by press Vol up+Home+Power buttons, even stock recovery installed before TWRP installed. It still is able to going to download mode by press Vol down+Home+Power buttons. How to fix "Can Not Enter Recovery Mode By Three Keys" issue?
Thank you very much!
