First of all I want to make some things clear:
This is my own custom build I made with the help of this great tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775505
This has nothing to do with the offical nightly build from Cyanogen and his team.
I won't provide any support for this. If you want to flash this you should know what you do. Don't ask me anything like "How do I flash this?".
This could be even more unstable then the official nightly build since I add commits that are not merged. It's a great feature preview, but I can't guarantee anything. I can't tell you if the features you see here will make it into any official build.
What is it?
Its a custom build of the latest Cyanogen sources spiced up with some not (yet?) merged patches.
I don't know how often I will make new builds, it depends if I find new things I want to try. If there are no new commits that interest me I won't make a new build.
I will only upload builds that work for me. So the basic stuff should work for everyone, if it doesn't try to wipe before flashing. If it still doesn't work use the official nightly/RC/stable/whatever... (Thats the point with "I won't provide any support").
Difference to the official CM nightly

MD5
I made something like this already for the Nexus One and many people liked it.
And since we don't get official nightlys since a long time already I thougt I start making my own nightlys again.
02/10/2012: new build, added latest commits from cm + cherry picked commits (again with AROMA Installer to choose WiFi calling)
02/04/2012: same build but with AROMA Installer. You can choose if you want to have WiFi calling or not before flashing the ROM.
02/01/2012: new build, added latest commits from cm + cherry picked commits
Thanks dude, good work.
I compiled my own CM7 Rom, but not sure how to apply those unapproved changes from the review platform, would u give me a hint ?

Why is anybody still screwing around with Android 2.3? This line is finished/dead/obsolete. Let it go already.

How is it dead? 2.3 is what our phones can run most efficiently with speed and smoothness, 4.0 is still choppy and major graphical glitches. Not everyone wants an unstable rom which will not be at it's optimum until a while longer.
On the other hand, I will be trying this out and thank you for putting in your time and effort to bring us another rom to choose from
I noticed no wifi calling....
I noticed in your docs that wifi calling is not included, any chance of getting this added back in?

Since ICS ROMs don't have camera fully working I wouldn't consider 2.3 dead. Many people including myself require a fully functional camera.
With that said I actually couldn't get camera and gallery to work on this ROM. I flashed it on top of stable CM 7.1.0 wiping only cache and dalvik.
I'm not going to do a full wipe at this point, neither am I looking for support but thought I would mention it.

The Cyanogenmod team is still going to release CM 7.2. So they're also still "screwing" around with it.

What???
You say that the version which works best on our phone is dead?
You mean 4.0 which brings us graphical glitches, no fully functional camera, bluetooth issues ... is better?
Lets talk about this in half a year again, but for now Gingerbread is the most stable and best performing version for our phones.

Maybe I'll make an additional zip for wifi calling, I won't include it in the rom for sure since I can't use it.
Just a heads up...for some reason removing the wifi calling files breaks my APN connection with AT&T. Makes no sense on the surface. Put back both the apks and the libs and I've got signal again.

Did you change something in the build.prop too?
Everthing works fine here, making calls, data connection...

No, I didn't touch build.prop. I thought I may try it again tonight, removing the apks and libs one at a time to see what breaks the connection with AT&T.

Weird, without changing the rilpath in build.prop the libs you pushed won't get loaded...
I'm curious which file is making you connection work again, please tell me when you found it out. Thanks!

The key word you've used is STABLE.
No need to keep dicking around with what already exists. If you want to use it, fine. But there's nothing left worth adding to it, and DEVELOPERS NEEDED ON 4.0!!!

Hi peep. I decided to start this thread because I don't wanna go OffTopic in the CM10 Quarx thread.
The fact is that I own a RedLense Defy, and since the first time I had it, I always tried to use Cyanogen. It was first the CM7 release, CM7.1, Cm7.2, now CM10 Quarx and Epsylon3... and in all the CMod ROM's I've had, they have the same trouble: filming quality is not good at all.
The only ROM that fit my necessities about the Defy's camera, is Walter's MS2GINGER. He did a great work there, and I've been using it for some months so far. But is a stock-based ROM (thats maybe the reason of why does it works there).
I would love to have a Cyanogen ROM with a nice filming quality. Even if its not 720p, at least a good wide 480p image. The first thing I've obviously tried is moving libraries from the "HD" zip to CM, the media XML, and some build.prop configs, but nothing happened (bootloop). So I ended thinking: its imposible to use those on CM.
So did someone try to improve filming in CyanoGen? Do anyone of you know a way to make it work, or the reason of why is it impossible on Cyanogen?
Thanks.

I thought that there was a trick now to unload fixed modules from the kernel and upload new ones that might work for this too

It means that it is POSSIBLE, I guess. :victory: And I totally think so, I don't believe a locked bootloader can make it all imposible for those with an advanced knowledge on linux and Android development.
But isn't any developer actually focused on the camera here? I searched on the forum but didn't found anything. I mean yeah, they are all fighting with the bootloader, but not to make a better camera so far.

Sorry, I re-read the post and realized that it was only related to opengl stuff... it was not a generic workaround for kernel modules.
We still need the bootloader unlock
Cheers!

Ok I guess I'll have to say bye to a CyanoGen MOD with a proper camcorder. Stock's the choice for me.
So I tried out LiquidSmooth's ROM for the GN2. LIked it, but had some issues. The one feature I really really liked was the 4.2 Camera... it had some really nice (and a lot of) focusing features. Due to some issues and the wifi voip calling not working as I thought it would, I had to flash out and went to Tweaked 2.5 and really like it. I flashed the new 4.2 Camera, but it has almost NO functionality that the 4.2 camera with Liquid had...
So, are there two different 4.2 cameras? and where can I get the fully loaded one with all the nice options?

The one in the tweaked installer is the Google Edition one that people started posting a while back - not sure how that measures up to what gets put into custom aosp roms to be honest.

I did not use the Aroma installer... I did it exactly how the instructions and the video said to, but it was different on my phone -- I have CWM recovery and I installed the first zip, got the lil TWEAKED animation, then without anything else I flashed the ROM, asked for a few options but not the nice fancy screen, and that was that. Overall way easier than the video even made it sound... Can I get back INTO that to flash the camera or do I have to completely wipe and flash again?

DL the modificatinator - pretty much has all the options from the main install stuff but you can pick and choose which ones without reflashing everything.

Hello, don't know if the following topic has been discussed previously, but wanted to clarify if a solution exists.
It is related to the Face Unlock feature from SmartLock, it is working fine and everything, but it bothers me that after pressing the Power button it doesn't pass the lockscreen after recogninzing you, still you have to Swipe it to enter to the Homescreen.
So for me this feature on stock ROM looks half baked, seeing its implementation on other devices and it works like a charm with the ported pixel custom roms.
My question is, can this be made functional on stock ROM rooted/+ TWRP?
I appreciate your support for a solution or clarification.

Yeah there's a magisk module out there, one sec I'll find it.
It even has whitelists for music so you can still access lock screen if you are using music controls.
Edit: my bad it was Xposed. I have used this on stock Oreo and it worked well.
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/forum.x...d/modules/xposed-instant-unlock-t3688329/amp/
Unfortunately I didn't succeed with Xposed. Is there an alternative to it?
I don't know why Google hasnt implemented this in the stock builds, but I am very happy with my setup besides that one feature. I have looked into a bit, but honestly, I am way to busy to learn something new currently. Anybody willing to help me out for a beer?

No beer necessary bruh. If your rooted, just flash a custom rom...DU, Nitrogen, Aquarios, Validus, Carbon, all have LPBTK. If your stock, then I believe there's an app or 2 that will do that as well. :good:
I don't see the need to flash a custom rom anymore, stock is awesome. I don't have bull**** overlays like sense hindering my processes. I root, flash a custom kernel add adway and I call it good.
I looked and none of them specificed back to kill. I will look again.

I've run both DU and Aquarios. Your correct in that they don't specify the LPBTK. However, if you see, the smart bar with fling by DU mentioned, that gives you the ability to do just that
I'm running AquariOS right now and other than the lack of edge squeeze, there is zero reason Not to run a custom rom. It is very tight and running as good or better because I need less goofing around to make it exactly like I want. And yes the LPTK works very well. I can't imagine ever going back to stock unless I need to clean up for another ROM.

The reason why is that Google says it will mess with Google app and 3rd party app functionality. That's what they've said before

Bump, Just want to see if anyone out there has the nohow to put this together as a flashable? I understand that some custom roms have it, but I love stock, and I understand xposed has it, but xposed seems to break things I use (like Pay) so just hoping someone can point me in the right way or help me out. Thanks!
