Proximity sensor not working during calls! Please help! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I'm not sure what's going on. I've had this problem for a while, but I finally decided to write about it. During a call my proximity sensor will turn off the screen like it should when I put the phone to my face. But when I take the phone away from my face the screen will not come back on. I have checked my settings and everything is enabled that should be.
I am stock rooted with Kit Kat. Is anyone having any similar problems? Please let me know.
Thanks

Make sure you have no dust over the proximity sensor . Use compressed air. I posted a similar thread .

That's the proximity sensor it detects things like u putting ur phone to ur face during a call and shuts the screen off. It's normal I see it on my stock rom from time to time

Do you hava viber app? I got the red led after the new viber update just remove the viber and everything working normally

Is it hot right there?

Any app that makes use of the proximity sensor will cause it to turn on. I think the last time I saw mine I was using a chat app that turned the screen on when the phone was touched.

S pen issues

Has anyone else had Issues with the S pen 'making contact' when its only meant to be hovering?
I had a N7105 for a week with no issues...sent it back and picked up this N7100 yesterday. Starting noticing the issue today with a drawing app. I kept making marks when I was hovering!
Any ideas? Do I need to take it back?

I'm getting similar issues so would be great to find out if this is a common occurrence.

I also face same issues and its practically UNUSABLE due to this issue. I found an advise on youtube where removing the cap on the button on S pen expose a potentiometer and slightly turning the screw clockwise reduces the sensitivity of the S pen and can fix the issue. I haven't tried it yet but will certainly do in the near future and update here.
I still have the N7105 boxed and ready to be returned... could I swap the pens or do they only work with the device they are shipped with?

Stylus sensitivity
This is fixable by turning the tiny screw under the button of the stylus there's a thread about it

Cheers, I should have searched for this first.
It was suggested on this thread...

That a firm tap on a hard surface can fix the issue. Some people seem to have had success with that. I've tried it, but its too soon to say if its worked.
I don't plan on tweeking the sensitivity adjustment, because I've only had the handset for 2 days and would rather just return it as faulty.

Well thats that fixed then, a notice board pin and a bent staple later my s-pen is working perfectly!

Was it that easy? Any issues with the sensitivity after you tweeked it?

Phone freezes after rotation...

I have a rooted unlocked tmo galaxy s3, currently running infamous 4.5. Haven't had any problems with it until today, twice now it's frozen upon rotation. Anyone else having this problem? Either with or without this rom, thanks in advance...

Update, happened again, seems to be happening when screen rotates, and them times out while in landscape...

Turn off screen rotation lol problem solved
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Need more info; it could be a kernel issue, an app issue, or a user error on the way you installed the rom...
Followed Jamison's instructions to the letter, full wipe, 3x for everything, with the kernel in his rom, I did turn off screen rotation for now, no problems since. Doesn't matter what app is running at the time, home screen, gmail, and messenger are what froze. It's didn't do it on 4.4, just on 4.5. Anything else that might ad helpful, let of know.

The only other option I would suggest is redownload and rewipe everything and don't restore stuff.
I'm using the same ROM and tried rotate with many different apps and experienced no lock ups. I too suggest you reflash again with full wipe

I'll try that later on, and like I said, only freezes if it times out while rotated to one of the sides

Oh ok didn't catch that, but I just tried it and let the screen time out with a few apps open while in landscape and nothing happened

Full wipe, reinstalled, no problems so far, but we'll see...

Think I figured it out, I'm using the aosp lock screen and somehow the ripple effect got turned back on, was still freezing after wipe, let's see if this works. Lol. Tested it a few times and no freezes yet.

Yeah that was it, having ripple enabled with aosp lock screen gives problems

I had it shut off originally, don't recall turning it back on, but maybe I did. Lol.

Stuck orientation in landscape

Sometimes when I'm using the phone to watch videos, when I back out for whatever app I'm using the phone will go back to portrait orientation when at the home screen, but when I open another app it goes directly into landscape even when I'm holding the phone in portrait. Is there something that I'm doing wrong? It fixes itself after I restart the phone. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Do you have smart stay enabled?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I just unchecked that, is that the problem?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
Well the smart stay senses your face and if it thinks that your looking at the screen it won't change orientation regardless of how it's rotated. I

I have also read in some places that it is a but that we got from the last firmware update.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I know it was doing it to me before I checkrd the smart stay. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't hardware related.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
The smart stay was turned off and the problem is still there.

[Q] NFC not working after turn on the phone awhile?

I have a weird issue with NFC. When I restart my phone, the NFC works normally. BUT after a short time the option cannot be enabled.
Tried flashing new rom with full wipe but the problem is still there.
Can anyone help me please
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Maybe some app is killing core nfc processes or something.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
It's more weird because after it's not working awhile, it starts to work again without rebooting. :/
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
So it might have restarted.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Now I'm on Carbon rom which is AOSP-based and the problem is still here. May I have to change something of hardware
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Maybe it's due to the fact that the sources for note 2 are incomplete which doesn't allow the nfc to work properly.
Try stock rom
