Hello guys!
I'm thinking about buying the LG optimos G, but some people tell me very bad things about the LG brand. Well, i want to know if the phone it's good, in questions of performace, relation in price and quality and in durabillity.
It depends for how much you can get it?
In general it's a good phone. For me the only downside is camera, which pretty ****ty.
I think LG makes great devices, but their feedback sucks. It seems to be changed since G2, but OG seems forgotten. OG is great device, fast, capable, but camera is very bad. Other aspects are almost perfect, HD for 4.7 screen is perfect, image quality is gorgeous. I would say it's definitely worth money, especially in my country where i can buy it for 200-250$.
Well, I picked a refurbished one for 200$ - great value for the money.
Now it's running KitKat (PA), was surprisingly easy to install.

I saw a video and the camera seems very capable for my needs. Thank you for the feedback... I was scared because it's a low price compared to the specs.
Its low price is due to its age. The device is from late 2012 which easily beats some brands phones from late 2013 and even 2014. By the way, it's a flagship phone and is not forgotten. Kitkat is on the way for it. check my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2652276&page=8
It's worth every cent

I've owned quite a few smartphones, but have never been as pleased with any as with the OG. What I wish it did have though is FM Radio and an IR blaster, but in terms of performance, this is a beast and rightly so because it was the most powerful smartphone released in 2012.
To be honest, there is few things that really irritate me.
- one of the worst cameras I've ever seen, which should be at least average since it was LG's flagship smartphone. In addition to that lens gets scratches really easily which causes photos to be even worse.
- no 5V output through usb (which means no otg without external power)
- really bad sound recording with microphone (it's ok with normal voice, but anything louder makes distortion).
And because of those, I regret buying this device. It's true, it has nice SoC for it's price, but for me it's too much, dual core would be just enough to handle android without any problem. As for durability, it's rather more vulnerable to drops than other phones because it's got glass in the back. Mine phone doesn't look like new, although I keep it in case all the time.
The best thing about this phone? Definitely screen. Is it worth buying? In my opinion - no, I'd rather have nice camera and/or microphone than powerful SoC, but it really depends what you expect from your phone.

Well dude, i apreciate your opinnion. It helped me. And i won't buy this phone. I don't wanna buy a phone only because his cpu, ram and screen... The other things are realy bad for the opinion of the guys here. And i want a phone with a good camera (not that high quality but a quality that make a good picture) and i just want a phone with a good battery, good cpu (i want to buy a Galaxy SIV Mini, and he have a dual core 1,7 ghz krait) and i want a phone with good features and with a good compatibity for headphones(i bought a Steelseries Flux in-ear and my old sony xperia arc s didn't suport it. Now because of that i'm using a GIO because it's nice to change the rom, don't have blocks and Samsung suports almost all . So it's because i don't want Sony. The phones of sony are realy bad for their price and the system it's realy ugly. Well, thanks for the feedback, i won't buy it like i sad :highfive:
Good camera is only on Nokia devices. Can you find a pleasing device in Nokia phones? I doubt. You still don't know about camera quality after 4.4.2 update. And the eco mode which turns two cpu cores off is there in the device which is so nice. Yet again, As you wish.
I bought ,new F180L (Korea version) for about $180 half month ago.It is a perfect phone for me, really faster than LG P880 ,because of 2GB RAM,Now my system is native f180L V20T KDZ Korean ROM,still perfect, and battery is very good ,I can screen on 5 Hours for a day with brightness 82% automatic.but the only problem is SMS has 80 characters limited, not 140 characters,Who can help me ....

It's related to your network.
I think it's wonderful despite its downsides
Hi there,
I just got this phone after some research. I was considering Sony Xperia Z, Galaxy S3 and this one. All of them within the same price range due to they are all now kind of obsolete, and despite its not-so-good camera I got the Optimus G. To be honest with you, I was going to buy a Moto G in the first place, but although I know some people who are quite happy with that, I think it's quite low range still.
To me, camera is not the main thing of a phone. Of course, I can't always take my DSLR with me, so at some point, having a phone with a decent camera is important. But I am going to use the phone mainly for Internet, apps, and so on... and I appreciate a good design as well, so having an S3 just because its camera is better?... no thanks. I've used an S3 for a little while (a couple of weeks or so) and I didn't see it as a huge step forward (but that's my impression). Lots of people have an S3, and it's not that I want to stand out, but I want to buy a phone that I like.
The camera is definitely its worst feature, but it's not that bad. It can take better pictures than previous generations, the problem is (in my view) that it's not as good as other high end devices. And technically speaking, the dreadful megapixel war, it happens on digital cameras as well. When you put a lot of pixels in a tiny sensor it sometimes creates more problems than benefit as each individual pixel may create electrical noise that will be translated into more "grain". And regarding videos, to me the most annoying thing is the micro-stuttering that sometimes happens. Maybe the bandwith needed for processing is too much for the encoder...
Anyway, so far I'm quite happy!
(BTW, there's a mod that apparently improves video/stills quality, although I couldn't install it properly on mine)
Regards
Congrats Dadivx! I also had the same choices as you did + nexus 4 + G2 16g! I chose G and I'm quite happy with it ^_^. I can't find anyone not pleased with it. Catching 4.4.2 wikk add to the pleasure for sure.

Well I buy this phone just a month ago, true the camera not so good for 13 mp. But there's camera option to choose HDR, it helps you get better picture. For me camera not most important, because I use my phone mostly for internet, Movies and games and this OG never upset me:good:
The screen also very nice for watching movie even hd video in youtube look very crisp. That my opnion about this phone, now I should go before you call me salesman:laugh:
camera...
but...what version do you have?
I have E975 (european version) with 13 mpx camera... and photo have a really good quality... way way better if compared with phone like htc one m7, glaxy s3, galaxy note 2, xperia Z, nexus 4, nexus 5, iphone (version < 5), moto x and all the other phone before 1/2 2013......
naturally last sony, nokia with 500mpx camera, s5, iphone 5 or other newest (and much expensive) phone have better camera.... but really don't think that without magnifying glass you can appreciate them....

Troll?
Sorry but people say even optimus x4 takes better pictures than our G. If it comes to camera our phone is real mistake. I know it won't have quality like normal camera, but at least in daylight it should capture some details, but it doesn't (not to mention when contrast is too big it looks awful). Photos might look good on 4,7" but not on something bigger or when you zoom in a little.
Phones you listed take the same or better pictures. Before posting stuff like this, check it earlier.

well I do agree with nobooya, the camera is the downside. even when I change the camera xml file.
If you are using this phone for everything except using the camera, this phone is really good.
but if you do taking picture most of the time, you probably can get G2,
at the end, of course if you can get this less than $200, I think it worth the money
I bought the Galaxy SIII. Thanks for answering

Hello Prowd G3 Owners,
How are you all?
I was wondering to buy this beautiful phone, but I thought to ask you owners two things which are bothering me very much.
1. Battery Issues. Presently I use S2 and will be switching to G3, If I am getting better battery backup. i dont know, I have read mixed views about battery from websites, so I wanted your personalized views on battery. My usage = When I dont use, I rarely picks up the phone, just to check text messages. But When I use it, I make sure the usage is heavy(Games mostly, or hours of chatting, minimal browsing though).
So kindly assist in this matter.
2. Will there be any need of ROM changing? Presently I am using CM11 on my s2 as I was fed up with touchwiz(yuck),
Even if your answer is yes, then I still not see any development in this sector as compared to other competitors?
3. If you had the opportunity to choose any other phone, what would that be (with similar g3 specs, you can choose g3 also )?
4. Does Quickcircle case provides impact protection?
5. Does LG causes any hassles if you want to replace your damaged screen under one-time screen replacement scheme?
I thank you in advance,
Neeraj.

Standby time on the LG G3 is immensely good. As you can see from my signature one of my previous phones was the LG G2 and that was the king of battery life for me, both stand by and regular usage. I've been using the G3 for some time now and the battery life matches the G2 which in itself is impressive considering the higher resolution screen. At first i was a bit disappointed but it took a few days/cycles for it to settle.
For instance, on days i get to work at 10am, usually have 2 email accounts pooling every hour, Google services all auto-syncing (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Keep, Photos backup, etc), Whatsapp, BBM, Weather every 3 hours, etc, i'm usually still at 90% by 2 pm when i go for break. Kill it quite a bit on break with news reading, games, web etc, and still in the 70's when i knock of at 6pm. Kill it some more on the train ride home and in the low 60's by 7.30pm.
2. Will there be any need of ROM changing? Presently I am using CM11 on my s2 as I was fed up with touchwiz(yuck),
Even if your answer is yes, then I still not see any development in this sector as compared to other competitors?
I've always been of the opinion that the best ROM is always stock rooted, and that's what i run on mine. The stock LG G3 ROM is just fine and runs really good. I freeze whatever bloat i don't care for with Titanium Backup. As luck would have it, bootloader unlock (and hence custom recovery needed to flash custom ROMS, if that's your thing) just became available for the LG G3 device-wide. So have at it when the ROMS start flooding in.
3. If you had the opportunity to choose any other phone, what would that be (with similar g3 specs, you can choose g3 also )?
By far, the Sony Z3 or Z3 Compact. Solid battery life, water proof, great camera, etc. Always wanted Sony Xperia devices but sadly they have a phobia for Sprint as a carrier. Nexus 6 only if it was 5.2 inches or less, Moto X 2014 only if it had a better battery (only 100mAh more than 2013 model, yet bigger 5"+ 1080p screen ) and camera. I have the Moto X 2013 currently as well, impressive, but terrible camera and battery could be better.
4. Does Quickcircle case provides impact protection?
Have the case, but don't use it (got it free, definitely wouldn't have paid for it anyway). Like any other case covering your phone it's something that would save it from scratches and nicks and dings if your phone fell out your hands and was otherwise naked. I personally don't like it and use another case.
5. Does LG causes any hassles if you want to replace your damaged screen under one-time screen replacement scheme?
Not sure/don't know about this specifically.
I thank you in advance,
Neeraj.

If you can find a good price on it, go for it.
1. I have a similar use case as yours, and I've never had any issues with battery so far. I get through a day pretty easily with screen on times of 5-6 hours which is good enough.
2. Stock ROM with minor root based improvements is quite decent with not much lag. I've used Touchwiz before and I find LG stock UI much better than Touchwiz. Ofcourse, fully functional CM & AOSP would be far better and I plan to switch to it immediately when available. The bootloader has only just been bypassed so ROM dev will kick up soon.
3. HTC One m8 or Nexus 6 (depending on how big it actually feels on hand). But I had that choice with M8 while going for the G3 so that's my take on it.
4. Yes and No. Depends on where the impact occurs. The cutout on front leaves that area of screen damage prone but the back is pretty well covered. A little less than a proper case though since the Quick Circle case essentially replaces the back cover.
5. Not sure about that. Thankfully I've not had to deal with them regarding this & hopefully I won't have to.
Thank you.

Here prices at online retailers is around 34k after all discounts. That's best in terms of spec/cost ratio.
Also LG India giving free 6 month insurance i guess, circle case and discount on lg g watch worth 10000 INR.
Also can you please post your gaming experience in words, or any performance grudge you hold against g3.
I know no phone is perfect, but I'd like to weigh my options here.

Please tell me more about your experience of gaming on g3? Is it better, worse, or average. I do plan to use this phone for atleast 4 years, if I buy it. Hence, I hope it does not get outdated. What are your views on this? (Know H/W wise it might be, but still my s2 works like a charm on CM11 and is able to play asphalt 8 flawlessly, though on low settings. )

N6 is quite costly as compared to other nexus devices. Although, it is for the specs its offering, I personally dont feel that s801 soc will be outdated soon enough. One M8 is big, specially those front speakers, added to its physical area. I personally dont like on-screen buttons, so was less oriented towards m8.

1. Absolutely no problems with gaming performance wise on the G3. The only issue is that is gets heated up if you're playing a games with the brightness cranked up. Personally, I play games at ~50% brightness which is good enough and doesn't heat up as much.
3. Same here. 801 definitely won't get outdated anytime soon, but since you're picking up a new device at full price and planning to keep it for 4 years I'd suggest you wait a bit to get a feel for the N6 atleast before making a decision. As for the M8, yeah I know where you're coming from. I had to decide between the M8 & the G3 too and I went for the G3 mainly because of the much better design at a larger screen size. Although durability wise the M8 will definitely handle some rough usage better than the G3.

Yea, I was thinking the same but N6 is approximated to cost ~42K INR. While G3 is ~8k less.
My first bike costed 49k. So I dont want to go beyond 35k for a phone as of now. I hope you understand my conundrum.

Is there any real user review of the device as whole. (Not of tech sites) on youtube or blogs??
Thanks for help again.
I have been using Galaxy S3 for the last 2 years, along side 7000 mAh zerlolemon battery.
overall my experience with it, considering it was my first smartphone, was OK.
but now I'm looking for:
a bigger screen & a good looking one! (5.5"+)
better camera (S3's camera sucked!)
better speakers & sound quality overall (i watch YouTube a lot at work, some /movies/TV show as well)
newer & less laggy hardware (S3 is just to old, although i run custom roms on it!).
removable battery & SD card storage.
the LG G3 seems to answer all of my wishes from a new smartphone. but i read about a lot of bugs & defects complaints using google search, which scares me a bit!
what do you guys think? would love to hear your opinions, which will be more valid then online reviews of short use since you had the phone for longer time! good & bad stuff.
I probable will buy the 32GB storage unite, since it has bigger ram & the extra 16G will do only good since the camera files will be heavier compared to the S3!
thanks in advance .
I had used S3 for nearly 2 years as my daily driver and it was a pretty good piece because of it's customizability. But, recently I received the G3 as a birthday gift and even though it's design and hardware impressed me, i felt like something is missing. Sure, it has that beautiful screen, sexy curves, overall amazing design, and an amazing camera but the UI tends to stutter a lot which is really wierd considering the amount of power the snapdragon could deliver. It should have been a child's play, but apparently it isn't. Also, the display has an exagerated software applied sharpening, which to this day i still can't see the benefit of it making your fonts at different sizes look ugly. Furthermore, the hardware gets sometimes so hot from simple tasks making it simply unbeareable for your hands.
When i encountered ocasional lag with my S3 i understood that I was asking too much from an old hardware, but i never expected a new-gen phone to behave like this. We will have to wait and see what improvements the custom roms could bring to the table.
If you spend a lot of time watching and listening videos, the speaker does it's job honorably while the so called premium headphones felt less dynamic than the S3's. At this point, the M8 could be a better deal it's only downside being the display size (- 0.5'' ).
To be honest, I still dont know what to say. I guess i have big expectations from a flagship.
I strongly suggest trying the phone before buying it.
Since S3 is only phone you had any upgrade will be good. Just choose what do you prefer in phone. Htc for speakers, G3 for screen, samsung for water resistance. Battery life and performance are pretty much same for all of them. Try them out all and you will see which one suits you best
I used to have S3 too, only thing I miss is very black screen. But that's about it. G3 is better in every way.
If you dont care about your phone being outdated fast, you can also get Z3

I myself have switched recently from S3 LTE to the G3.
On the S3 a lot was possible with mods, ROMs and solutions from this great community :good: , it was and is a great phone.
My impressions on the G3 in comparison to S3 LTE are:
+ good speed and responsitivity
+ larger screen is nice
+ input handling (touch screen) seems more responsive to me
+ good signal qualities
+ excellent battery life
- community much less developed (no wonder, its pretty new and bump! is just out)
- wireless charging much more fidgety
- considerable more bulk (well, can't have it all )
- display is not as crisp and bright as with S3
Overall I am happy with the new phone and not looking back.
Axel
Great summary ccs16rocks. My feelings are exact to yours. In order to reduce many of the issues you identified, I had to root, modify, etc but this has not fixed all of the issues. I've changed my framework to ART and launcher to Nova, disabled all animations, scaling, etc. as well to help with stutter and slow downs, that helped dramatically.
After all of the work that I've put into the phone, there are still some things that I cannot fix or improve and I don't think they can be.
-Camera speed: I'm used to iPhone 5/6 performance/speed. There are apps that can speed up shooting, but none can reach the speed of an iPhone. Luckily there are tons of apps out there, if you have the time to try them and find the right one. I've been through a bunch so far and The apps that do work well (speed/performance), usually don't have any other features that seem practical to have integrated into the app. (video, square, panorama, etc)
-Battery life: I'm using a variety of tools/task killers/etc to minimize what's running, eating battery life or slowing the phone down. This varies and I can't seem to find a real solution to extending battery life any longer other than just not using the phone
That being said, I'm happy with the phone. The hype over the quality of the camera is odd to me though. Primarily because it's nice, but it isn't that great. Maybe it's better than other Android camera phones?
Another major concern is, with all the rooting/hacking/modding I've done to get the phone to operate more efficiently, I'm curious as to how I can upgrade to Lollipop when it comes out, since LG G3 handsets are getting it soon
Just want to thank everyone who replied .
after reading your comments, i decided to stay with the current S3 and skip the LG G3. although it's specification sound perfect for me, i just don't want to risk getting a new phone with all this possible bugs and defects! I will just wait until the note 4 or nexus 6 drop to a normal price in my country, don't mind waiting 6+ month for that. it's not like the S3 is a bad device, it does the job well enough for now.
If you read enough stuff on the internet ALL phones have stuff wrong with them - To me the G3 has some minor software hic ups with its launcher, nothing that makes it worth not buying.
Make sure not to buy the 16GB version, because the lag is REAL. The colleague from the USA might be delighted with the their 32GB beasts, but as for european costumer who are offered only the 16 giggs... Id be better without it. Seriously guys the europeen version is crap without any serious modifications!
The G3 is a wonderful device. As well I just wanted to say not everybody's phone laggs. I've had my G3 since launch and I only experienced very minimal lag and once I rooted and made a few small changes in trickster mod it's been nothing but good times.

Well its not available in SPAIN and Bulgaria carriers.
Hi guys, i have a friend who bought G3 not long ago, and he want to replace it with Galaxy S6. let's assume if he would, outside of lower battery, does it really hold any substantial benefit over G3?

Derping asked: "Does it really hold any substantial benefit over G3?"
I would say no.
What t-shock wrote is mostly true if we compare technical specifications, but hardware benefits are not noticeable in everyday use, and software quality is matter of individual taste..

I own both devices and I will say that s6 feels a bit better that the g3
Screen and camera is the main differences
PS You're absolutely right
My cousin came from the states a few days ago and he has the s6 edge i have the s5 and g3. To be honest i didnt saw that much difference. Well the screen on edge rocks and the camera ummm. Took a pic with my s5 and ne with the edge the same position 4 seconds of difference and i cant say theres a difference. Yeah its new but for me its just that.

I'm looking at going backwards actually. From S6 to G3 (or even G4).
"Stupid!" Some would say....
"Ahh, I see what you're doing there..." others would suggest...
I've never had an iPhone (outside of work) and never will. Absolutely hate them. If I want to blend in with the mainstream 'zombie' public, I'd buy one...and so, I pledged allegiance to the Samsung Galaxy flagship on the release of the S1. I Loved the SGS1; thought the S2 (and S2 in 4G) was brilliant in every way and the best in the series. I didn't like the bubble-like screen on S3 (you cant use a screen protector properly) and the S4, S5 and S6 were getting bigger, heavier, more powerful (killing batteries quicker) and lacking in key features that I considered "important" as a user.
My complaints:
1. S6 build. It's advantageously a disadvantage...
The best thing about Samsung for me, was it wasn't Apple. It was on the andrio0d platform and the phone internally and externally was customizable to how the user saw fit. Now, you can argue the battery-encased in the shell, lack of SD card expandability and "all metal/glass" surroundings is great (you are probably an Apple fan), but to me it works against the S6....customization lacked big time. Let's not forget the S5 was dust/water resistant for a plastic back/removable battery and all ports on phone weren't covered! Also, keep these stupid nano sims for the iPhones, please...We have micro now #smallenough
2. Power/Battery:
I don't "multi-task overload" and usually only have a few apps running at the same time. Not really a big gamer outside of the occasional Angry Birds, yet I was STAGGERED learning how much my battery dropped from LIMITED use. 10 minutes looking at my phones messages and emails and 5% was gone in the blink of an eye. I can't get a full day out of it and I'm the furtherest thing from what would be considered a phone-a-holic. So again, such advantages of this phone in it's ability to cope with the most demanding apps, and graphics in high end mobile games, is biting it in the ass as its OVERLY using too much of the available battery.
3. FM radio
If you're like me, this makes you laugh the S4 and S5 had FM radio chips installed, but Samsung de-activated them. Why?! Who the f*ck knows. They present you with a ferrari and remove the engine...kinda makes it a moot point. I want to listen to live sports on radio...I can't do that unless I can tap into specific 3rd party apps and in some cases, certain times/streams aren't even available....use a LIVE FM RDS radio and it is. The S4-6+ missing this makes zero sense.
I could go on, but I won't. I will admit that in the hand, the phone feels fantastic. As did the S5. The processor of CPU/GPU are far superior, the camera is better and ultra-responsive, the UI might be new to you if you're not familiar, but easy to use. 4G speeds are SUPER fast, WIFI connectivity a breeze, but the more Samsung liken their phones to Apples and cut out common features and shorten battery lifespans, the quicker they will lose customers like me. If you add in the extra horsepower, compensate with either a bigger battery, or more efficient battery sucking less power.
For me, the G3 or G4's camera of 13 or 16MP will suffice...I'm a photographer with a great DSLR, a phone will never replace it and the RAW shooting option on the G4 (possibly G3) is a great option. The phone is a little BIG for my liking, but again, that's LG trying to copy the latest Iphone sizes for you...the GB RAM and storage are on par with market leaders at the moment and the option to use your own battery, manually reset the phone, add a SDHC card for photos/video (particular for RAW images) are just more reasons why I'll go for the option that gives you greater flexibility.
RoOSTA
Really interesting views and thoughts in this thread, gonna jump in....
Ive owned all the Samsung Devices (except the S6), IMO, samsung are pulling an Apple and the prices are starting to creep up, S6 or IPhone 6, Iphone 6+ or S6 Edge, yes its starting to happen.. Samsung are pulling their way back after the S5 flop and boy, are they letting everyone know about it.. oh and charging for it as well
Now that we have 5.0 L, I personnaly think the G3 is awesome. Its had it problems.. the OS being laggy, which Removing Smart Notice cures, the camera taking time to mature and lack of basic manual controls (EV, ISO, WB, Manual focus, Bracketing, Shutter speed etc) and LG still havent fixed the headphones hiss / distortion even after 2 massive updates (4.4 & 5.0), although there are workarounds, but I still love the G3.. why...
Beautiful Big Screen, Great Camera with one of the best OIS systems around (even better than Nokia at times), beautiful audio, great button placement, lovely sturdy robust build (even though its plastic), nice Themes and OS cutomisation, and now under Lollipop (20h), a great OS experience... lets just say I ditched my HTC One M9 for the G3.
Until they release a Tizen powered device, Ill never buy Samsung again.. because no matter how much they slim it down and dress it up.. Touchwiz is still Touchwiz and its like a kids cartoon. The camera looks impressive however, and now theyve added OIS, it seems impressive..
IMO if I was you, Ide get the G4, which is released on the 28th, which is much cheaper than an S6.
Hey guys, my local MicroCenter has these phone for just under $300 and i'm tempted to purchase one but wanted your opinion on if its a good deal or is there some catch as to why they are priced to low!
Price is low because razer doesn't support it anymore. Last update was late summer last year. Security patch is June 18 I think.
Also Bluetooth codecs like aptx and ldac are not supported and can't even be enabled on a rooted phone.
That's too bad because looking at the specs, this phone should still be beast even a year later! What about the Modding community? Is there still decent support for custom roms/mods/kernels/etc?

Good phone, but buy it only if you like it as is.
I like mine very much, bought cheap used last fall.
Just don't expect any updates or mods.
There is one custome kernel on Nougat and one custome rom on Oreo and both are not supported anymore.
Very few Pie GSIs work, there is root support but not via magisk and you have to fix a few things first to have them ready for daily use.
The 120hz are still great, speakers are awesome, only very few preinstalled apps. Google Cam app is available and that one still is being maintained and allows for quite good pictures. And as you alrdy said SOC with 8GB RAM still rocks every game.
Nice! I think I can deal with it not being on the latest and greatest OS. As long as its stable and has root access I think I will be happy.
Oreo.1 with magisk is super stable. Enjoy your 120hz, there is no going back btw.

It's worth it, but you may be stuck with Razer Stock Oreo.
Good thing is, it's a good ROM! This is my first phone that hasn't really gave me such a huge desire to replace it's software because it is good. They even give you an app to control CPU speeds on a per app basis and it's not bloated. My biggest gripe is the lack of a headphone jack, but most phones now do that, hence I still have some of my older phones.
I haven't gotten around rooting this phone. All my past smart phones (galaxy s2 and Oneplus one) were rooted. The community support for this phone is very little.
Stock unrooted is decent battery life, rarely do I worry about getting through the day. All other screens will seem choppy compared to the 120Hz.
Downsides include the missing Bluetooth profiles mentioned above and the stock camera is utterly useless (my Oneplus one has a better camera) but with the Google Camera app it takes very decent pictures.
