Hi all, I'm new to Inc 2, coming from Droid x2(fml). anyway.. im running latest miui, and cameras dont work properly.. anyone have a working camera zip that i can flash? much appreciation
Have you tried clearing the cache and Dalvik cache?

Which MIUI build are you running? There's more than one port floating around right now that seem to be actively supported. If it's an ICS/JB build, there have been known issues with the camera in the past (I haven't kept up with it too much as MIUI builds never seem to play nicely on my device). Also, what do you mean by the camera "not working" properly? Is the camera app Force Closing, are the images saving with a green or yellow tint to them, or is there ripping or tearing on one side of the image?
Like mentioned above, try clearing the cache/dalvik cache in Recovery, as well as clearing the cache and data from in Settings->Apps.
Ill give that a try

Well seems as if the problem is back. When I take a picture, it has yellowish green lines up and down the screen. Although they are clear when I look at them in gallery. Also, instagram has the same problem while taking photos.
I'm running miui 1.8.26
Well on miui's thread it says 1.8.26, but in my phone it says build number 112300 (1.12.30 ?)

Instagram didn't work for me either. And I realized that camera shutter bug that has those lines appear. So, it must be 'normal'.

For a gb build 1 12 9 is last stable build or you can go to the new ics build it works great also.

Yes, I'd either go back to 1.12.09, which was the last stable build with data, or upgrade to the CDMA version of the ICS MIUI. That's the version I'm on, and I have almost no complaints. It is based on Sense, so the camera and ffc work great!
How are you getting data or phone on 1.12.30? People were experiencing phone force close issues with all buildbot versions past 1.12.09 of GB MIUI.
i tried this and it didn't help me for long on MIUI. I finally gave up and went back to a Sense ROM.
Good morning all.
I recently flashed Sky Note 3.0 Base with 3.1 update, and When ever I try to take a picture with the 4.2 camera app it freezes, then the flash will go off while its frozen, and then the gallery will FC with a message stating gallery stopped working..
I've tried this same app with attcleanrom and I got the same error message.
Please help me to fix this issue?
I have not used those roms. Are you flashing the camera post rom? You might be missing libraries..

Its a known bug. You can't touch to focus on the 4.2 camera with flash on. If you want to avoid it force closing on you, you'll have to only press the blue capture button on the bottom to focus and then, let it go to snap the pick.

Thanks I'll try that.

Recently I have noticed the rear facing camera doesn't focus. I am not sure if it is hardware or software related. I have had the phone for a while and the camera has always been great. Not sure what happened to the rear facing camera though. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a similar issue, mine focuses, but the flash sometimes doesn't go off. When auto focusing the flash will light up the scene then when I release the soft button to take the pic, the flash doesn't fire. I'm on CM10.1 (latest nightly), but issue has been evident for a few months I'd say.

You try enabling HDR in the camera options?
How do I enable HDR? I am currently on the stock ROM.

I think its a 4.2.2 only feature and your ROM must have it built in and your gapps must not overwrite it with its own camera app.
I think

Well unfortunately for me I have the Verizon gnex. So I'm like 4 updates behind :-\ although I am rooted and my boot loader is unlocked.

I just found this thread on the international s iii forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146428
I didn't think it would make much of a difference. I have been debating going back to touchwiz lately so I would have better camera quality, but flashed this ported camera and BAM, works beautifully. Even works with the stock gallery perfectly. I'm running Carbonrom nightly's and can confirm it works spectacular, if you've been having troubles with stock camera, try this out and thank the developer!
Thanks for sharing. Running on BB8, when I switch over to video recording the camera crashes. Might be rom specific as you say yourself that it works fine for you.

Just tried video and crashed for me too, maybe they'll be a fix? But for photos it has done such an incredible job for me! Hope that it helps some of you out there!

This is an excellent camera. I seldom take videos, so for me, this is perfect. Thanks for the find!

Should work on all 4.0+ aosp ROMs. Just delete/rename gallary2.apk in system/apps then install the apk like normal
I'm posting this because I'm running it right now with zero issues on thddudes beanstalk rom
This isn't actually a leak is it. Its just the camera from the Google edition s4 isn't it?

But when it uses 25% of your battery overnight there should be something wrong. I tried it myself. Photosphere is not worth the no deep sleep new feature, lol.

I tried this running CM 10.1 and it seemed a little laggy for a while. Also, the quick settings did not match up. i.e. I would try and select one scene mode and it would actually pick another. If it was more stable I would use it. I prefer this new quick settings menu over the radial menu
Works well on stock Rom too. I also have problems with settings not matching up.

Meh... It's ok. I still prefer the MIUI camera, even if I don't have front camera support with it. IMHO, it's better than CameraZoom as well.

I am on AOKP and this only half works. It does do photosphere, but it only does 1 picture then it is fuzzy thereafter and the video is horrible and not usable. Does anyone have a .zip to flash back to stock camera and gallery? blah. i did a backup before but it was a a couple weeks ago and I am just not getting around to trying the camera.

Your best luck is to flash the ROM again without resetting data (no wipe)

This works great. It's how I restored my camera
meh
4.3 camera works fine on LG Optimus G F180k. I now have two Camera apps and two Galleries. The only flaw I encountered so far is the picture size. It only goes 8MP maxed and my camera supports 13MP so I only use it for PhotoSphere. The PhotoSphere works well, so far, haven't tried it outdoors yet. The new gallery app is a step up from the stock I had.
I froze the stock gallery and use the gallery app that came with the 4.3 camera. I didn't freeze or uninstalled the stock camera. I'll probably use'em both.
My theory here, maybe this works well with my phone because it first came out on Nexus 4, which is also a LG device and Optimus G and Nexus 4 almost have the same hardware with just a lil' variations like the camera. (N4 with 8mp while LGOG with 13mp, some models have 8mp too just like the N4)
and another thing, the 4.3 camera creates another directory inside DCIM folder. So the two cameras have two different folders inside DCIM.

Would you mind sharing the miui camera that you are using. I've tried pulling the apk files from miui ROMs but I always get a FC. It would make my miui v5 that much more complete.

Thanks. Have you ever gotten the video camera to shoot in full 720p? Not something I use much of, just wondering.
What I'm really wanting to get my hands on now after seeing some previews, is the new focal camera from CM.
