it started when I got software update notification on my phone. as I don't use custom rom I thought it's just gonna be ok updating its software. after installing update it asked me to reboot,I did it and that's it, stuck in recovery mode
I've tried to use factory reset, restore it but nothing changed.I use cwm 6.0.4.
what should I do?or is it my stupid move from the beginning by installing update software in my rooted phone?
really need help as I'm still a beginner to play with android
thanks a lot for any help

Hi,
I just noticed this was ready to download on my phone today. I downloaded and went to install, but the ClockWordMod Recovery doesn't let me install the update saying, "Image Verification Failed". I assume the problem is that the phone is rooted, and searching through the forums I heard this update isn't really anything big, just removing some German apps or something.
Is there anyway I can stop this update from notifying me? Or anyway to install? My phone is rooted but I'm not bothered about keeping it rooted as at the moment, there is nothing I need the phone to be rooted for. So, either way is fine for me.
Thanks!
If you want to unroot it, just flash generic ruu, more info here http://theunlockr.com/2010/06/07/how-to-unroot-the-htc-desire/
Than simply check for updates and update it
Or wait for few hours for rooted version of this rom
Hi!
I have a branded Desire and installed the update via Recovery. I had to disable the verification to do that (Goldcard inside). But all I got was a boot loop and my phone was derooted. I tried much (e.g. delete my data) and after a couple of hours I found the simple solution: Simply install the update again. Then I rooted my phone and restored the NANDROID Backup I made before I started the update because all of my data was gone.
Then I installed the Update again and this time it worked at the first time. All data was still there. I rooted it again and everything is fine. Don't know why my phone got a boot loop after first try but second try was perfect!
My suggestion: copy the zip from the download folder to the SDcard (made to a Goldcard!!!!) root and to the PC. Just if you need it more than once. Then make a Backup in the Bootloader. Then Install the update via Recovery. If anything goes wrong install the update again!
Hi all,
I installed the [ROM] [2.10.405.2] Rooted Official HTC Android 2.2 (FroYo) ROM at the start of the year and have been getting told to update my software numerous times since.
I have downloaded the rom update to my sd card, gone into the boot menu by holding the power and back buttons, turned of verification, installed the rom from my sd card then installed it. When it restarts, the phone then gets caught in a boot loop and I have to reinstall the original rom.
Please can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've never done anything like this previous to installing the original rom.
Thanks in advance.
NEVER EVER apply an update to a rooted phone. This has been covered in numerous threads in the past
Thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware. So I should download the roms from here?
If you wanna update but stay custom then yes go for a newer custom ROM
Hello everyone.
So I have unlocked/rooted my phone and it worked fine with the normal system that comes with the Andriod.
But, now there is some sort of problem, I can not upgrade my phone to the Jelly Bean 4.1 (I am currently on 4.0.4 rooted version).
I see a msg that states that there is an update for my phone and when I chose install now, the phone reboots and "installs" the new system But eventually it goes back into the same old system and the update did not work for some reason and I again see the install update now option.
I tried a different approach by trying to install the cyanogenmod that has the new Jelly Bean upgrade. But I always end up stuck at the booting screen, so I have to go back to the recovery and reinstall the old system.
Please someone help me, is there a way where I can share a log or something of my system so that someone would figure out if there is some sort of system code error?
Is there any software that can check this or help me with this issue!.
I need help, I can not upgrade my phone or even install any mods
Am stuck. Please help me
Thanks in advance.

you must have done something to the file system, change system files, delete system files, install a custom recovery....

.... which sounds like you did. You can't run the official OTA update with a custom recovery installed. Read this thread to update to JB from a stock rom with a custom recovery installed.

install android-sdk
learn adb and fastboot for the flashing needs by reading this thread.
First of all, yes, I am an idiot, and yes, I have looked through the forums but just have to make sure I am downloading the correct thing.
So, a while ago, I rooted my t-mobile galaxy s3.
Today, I wanted to download a root-compatible app, it didn't work, turns out that my root somehow became disabled ( I might have accidentally wiped the superuser binaries)
So, I try to re-root my phone...several times. I finally think I have it rooted (using the official xda guide on how to root), and everything was fine, until i try to use superuser and it turns out that I am not rooted...for whatever reason. I do a hard reset a couple of times, it still shows that I am running alternate software and cannot update. I try to flash a stock rom to my phone, and that just simply fails on odin.
Now, I have completely formatted the SD and internal storage (probably very stupid), and I am just wondering how I could possibly flash a stock rom onto my phone, and if you could please link one because I believe the one I tried was not for my device.
If not, please provide some suggestions on what I should do. My device works, so it's not really time-sensitive, but I do want to re-root my android after I revert to stock roms, properly this time.
Thank you for your time and help!
Fixed
Fixed the problem, will be posting tutorial in the morning for anyone who might have the same issues!
Waiting for u!!
Hello I have not been here long but anytime I need help with something pertaining to a phone I come here.
So here it goes. I got an LG G3. I got root then I installed Bump'd as it was released. I then installed a custom rom and all seemed to be good. A few weeks later my phone got stuck on TWRP custom recovery. I managed to get that fixed by finding a thread on this web site. Now I was going to install candy rom from the Sprint LG G3 section but as I wiped Cache and all that other good stuff what ended up happening is that it may have wiped something it should not have . Because now the phone will now only boot to TWRP, and it keeps informing me that "No OS is installed."
Now here's the tricky part. It doesn't seem to want to go into download mode either.
So all I can do it TWRP.
So I have two questions
1. I heard that you could possibly put some sort of file on an SD card and flash it on TWRP to fix it. Is this true ? If so, can someone direct me to how to do so with instructions?
and
2. If #1 does not work... does that mean that my phone is screwed and there is nothing I can do with it at this point ? I have soft bricked phones but never something like this.
Help anyone as I would like to get this fixed ASAP if there is some way to fix it.
Please and thank you!
