Apps Safe to Delete/Freeze - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

So now that I've rooted my Tab 8.4... Which apps (particularly Samsung Apps) are safe to delete/freeze using Titanium? It's been a long time since I've had a samsung device, so idk what's what. So far the only Sammy apps that i've found to be useful are Watch On and the Multi Window feature...
Any ideas?

I searched some similar device forums for apps to delete. I froze them for a few days first though. I know the knox ones are ok to delete. Any samsung app is good as well. I cleared about 400 mb this way. Look in 12.2 Note Pro forums as well as the 10.1 2014 forums.

I rooted my 10.1 a couple of days ago and used this guide to remove apps:

I did pretty much all on that list and had no issues so far.
probably still some more that could be deleted...

[Q] Which applications are safe to remove/freeze?

For the i9100 there is a topic on which apps are safe to remove. Is there any updated list for the Note II?
I assume many apps should be identical (Social HUB, etc) but there might be some specifics due to SPen usage and others.
In my i9100 I just froze those apps with Titanium Backup to save some memory. Might try to do the same with the Note2.

Rooted my Note 10.1 2014..now what?

forgive my ignorance here. I'm new to all of this.
My 2014 10.1 was giving me all kinds of issues, but mostly, battery problems.
I decided to root the device, and did so successfully, checking to make sure. It is.
But now, I'd like to remove bloatware and Samsung apps that I feel might be causing the issue. How do I go about doing this?
Cannot find, searching the web, what needs to be done now. Thanks for the help.,

Your safest and best bet is to install Titanium Backup and FREEZE the bloatware. I'm not recommend to uninstall or delete system apps. After you freeze, you won't see them in your app draw, and they don't take up space at all. If by accident to freeze one of the critical app which may cause problem but you could easily un freeze and back to business.
Flash a custom recovery, twerp 2.6.x.x, and flash a new rom.

Don't uninstall anything, freeze with Titanium Backup but ultimately install xposed and greenify all unnecessary apps, aside from a handful, all my apps are greenified. I don't greenify system apps but you may some select few. Battery performance is far superior this way.

Ok, i'm a total noob and i admit it ...rooted my Note 2014 successfully, but like the OP i really don't know what to freeze...
1. If i freeze Samsung Apps (and widget), Samsung Hub (+updater) will the other samsung individual apps still update themselves? I'm interested mainly in updating Sketchbook for Galaxy (the one the tablet came with) - i asked in another thread and no answer
2. what is "greenify" ? (same as "freeze"?)
Thank you
Mike

Freeze is the same as uninstalled, frozen apps do not run. It's safer than removing because it's still on your device and you can unfreeze anytime.
Greenify is a module for xposed. It stops apps from running in background. Greenified apps are available in your app list, run them as usual. But when they are not used for some time, greenify closes them. In your example you'd like to greenify Samsung Apps, not freeze, so you can run it regularly to check for updates.

Put a sticker on it "Warranty void after 10 minutes", put it in a picture frame and hang it on the wall.

Note 4 Apps

Just a heads up, if you change the following lines in your build.prop, you can get some of the stock apps from the Note 4 via Samsung Apps (or Galaxy Apps or whatever it's called now). Just open up the app, go to the Galaxy Essentials section, and download. I'll post up the apks shortly....
ro.product.model=SM-N910S
ro.product.name=SM-N910S
ro.product.device=SM-N910S
Actually, I just realized somebody else already has a thread going, with all the available apks and info on the apps that are currently available....

I am on S5 ported ROM. Is there any advantage to these APPs? ANy great improvement I would be missing out on?
I'm interested in apps once uploaded...

They don't seem to work at least the few I tried force closed immediately. The browser looked the most promising. Even it didn't stay open.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy App Store, where is it?

So I have a stock unrooted Note 4. On TouchWiz I have two widgets, Galaxy Apps Essentials, and Galaxy Apps Gifts, both of these widgets take me to a page showing some apps, and then there is a see more Galaxy Apps link at the bottom. Clicking that link takes me to Samsungs App store. I can not find an App just for the Galaxy App Store though. Is there suppose to be one? Is there a way to get to it that I don't know? On my Note 10.1 2014 there is a Galaxy App store apk and app installed that lets me update these apps.
Going to the Samsung page to download the APK like I found elsewhere, there is nothing there for my phone.
Any ideas? Right now I want to use a non stock launcher, but that disables the widgets to get to the store.
As you indicated, you likely have to be using the stock TouchWiz launcher and place the Samsung Apps widget on one of your homescreens. At least, that's the only way I've been able to access the Samsung app store.

Seems weird. Like I mentioned, on my Note 10.1 2014 edition tab, there is just a Galaxy App store application that I can run. I tried to install it on my phone.. bad idea.. So is the only way to access the app store literally through a widget? That seems bad, cause I don't want to waste a spot on a screen for a widget....
The Note 3 had an apps store shortcut in the app drawer. Don't know why but they only included the widget on my Note 4. I believe that with the Note 4 Samsung has begun de-bloating their mobile devices and I'm guessing removing the shortcut is a result of that.

You can download the apk on the Web. That's what I did

I got it on the web too. I think it's apps.Samsung.com
Edit: they changed that page. Idiots.

Thanks, I had seen where lots of people earlier were like "Go download it" but it never worked for me.... Will install it.

How please tell me!!
Yeah, Verizon strips the Galaxy Apps shortcut out of all of their Samsung devices. You can get to it through the Galaxy Apps widget, or by tapping the three dots in the upper right corner of the apps screen and selecting "Galaxy Essentials".
Or you can download the full version of Galaxy Apps from http://apps.samsung.com/jupiter/mw/apk_en.as
Once downloaded and installed, you'll see Galaxy Apps displayed with the rest of your apps.

T800 room that's stops the glitchy scrolling

I've got the Wi-Fi version and find Web browsing not at all smooth. It's laggy as hell.
Do any of the roms address this and improve overall performance without any negative effects? I've not rooted yet but will to stop this.
About time Samsung could make a device without this.
Thanks

No issues here with the stock browser on lollipop, in fact I'd say it's the best if the lot, bloat removed, non essential apps blocked startup.

I ended up using package disabler pro - ticked the box to removal ALL bloat, then scrolled through and turned on the things I want. Works well. There are clearly one or 2 things that cause the problems as both the tab s and my note 4 are smoother.
Samsung needs to drop their sh*t.

Agreed! I used that app before I rooted my SM-T700 and had 104!! apps disabled. One of things that led me to root it.
