I know this isn't helpful but I absolutely have a weather animation option in the screenshot you posted.

Not sure if anyone has the same problem but i can't seem to figuire this one out.
I apologise if this has been talked about before, But have searched extensively without luck.
The problem is that when i go to change the App drawer Icon effect, The option is completely shaded out and I'm not allowed to pick one.
I reinstalled it but that didn't change anything.
Anyone know of this issue and have a solution!
Thanks in advance!
Im using GO Launcher EX and it works fine for me.
What effect is it currently stuck on?
Did the launcher come with a Custom ROM? or have you installed it yourself on a standard ROM?

No worries mate. I felt a bit of a numpty when I realised what the problem was, after asking on here too
I have recently updated my R800i to version 4.0.2.A.0.42 and I was disappointed to see the CRT screen lock animation replaced by a boring fade animation.
So, I ventured on a quest to get it back without downgrading if that's possible. The animation is probably in framework-res.apk, but I don't know anything more than that.
There is an animation, but the wrong one. config_animateScreenLights is false.
Another possible solution might be to upgrade to 4.0.2.A.0.58, because they might have put the animation back since while googling for a solution I only saw more people whining and maybe SE noticed them.
Thanks in advance.

If you know how to get it back I'd like to hear it. If not, you're right, it's just an animation, but a really nice one.
Pm me your framework-res.apk file? & when I get home ill sort it =)

Thanks for your offer. I don't see any attachment options for pms, so I'll rather upload it here than send you to one of them painful file uploading sites.
Could you modify mine too?

Sad news, i need the system dump which had the CRT Animation - Build 3.0.1.A.145 but theres no system dump on the web of that build, im just waiting for someone to donate it to me, or an older version of the dump that had the CRT Animation so i could port it... i tried using the arc/neo dump but because of screen resolutions/size it wouldnt work & all i ended up with was no screenlock animation
Hey Guys I am not sure if this is the right place since i have the lg thrill but if i remember correctly they were similar right? Anyway I saw a thread about flashing the lg thrill to ics and i did just that. However I am stuck now and I can't flash it a second time to get the baseband. My phone won't go into download mode anymore. When I try i just see the lg logo and a charging symbol. I tried all the things mentioned on the thread but it still doesn't work for me.
i have exactly your problem. if anyone can help us it would be lovely

I have flashed LGOG to non Sprint network with working data and voice. The problem is that every time the phone boots, it goes for handsfree activation which ultimately fails.
Earlier there used to be Sprintsyncml.apk on other handsets which can be deleted and and then this problem gets resolved but I am not able to find this apk in LGOG. Can someone help?
according to this its called selfservice.apk

This is in the G2 section. I am not sure if the apk is in the same spot on the OG.

First you need to be fully rooted.
use root browser to navigate to the system/app folder
rename OmaDmClient.APK to OmaDmClient.Bak
save and reboot and no more HAnds free on every boot

A little more digging and found this in the Optimus G threads.

My friend Jeremy helped me with getting rid of the "Hands Free Activation" pop-up and I thought I would share it. It especially comes in handy when you are flashed to another carrier. If you are on one of the new custom ZVB Roms you probably don't have to worry about it. All you have to do is:
1) Get a Root File Browser .... I like Rom Tool Box
2) Go to "System" folder
3) Go to "App" folder .... (not Apps)
4) Scroll down and find "OmaDmclient.apk" and rename it to "OmaDmclient.bak"
5) Reboot and you should not get that aggravating ass pop up any more
:silly::laugh:
I hope I've helped someone because a lot of people have damn sure helped me!

This worked for me.
LG Optimus F3 - LS720 Virgin Mobile.
Thanks.
I had a Note 8 for a short time which had this issue but ive noticed it on my gpad 8.3 v500 when its in landscape.
The issue is when im scrolling the screen one side lags behind the other if you do it quickly enough...so if i do it Up and down it gives a wobble effect. Noticable in netflix too.
Has anyone had this? Im hoping its a jellybean issue as i said my note 8 was the same.
Not a deal breaker but it does bug me.

Have you installed any background-running apps that may cause this problem? I don't know what can cause screen stuttering like you have. Have you thought about installing CM? It works great and is 1000 times faster than stock

Yes i have thought about it......but id need an idiots guide as ive never done that before...
Also im sure ive read 4.4 ota is coming soon , so i was going to hang on for it....
Is there a guide out of interest?
There are only guides for root and recovery, CM is only wiping and flashing. I will post links when I get home (although I'm pretty sure you can find them yourself in the All things guide thread, I recommend TWRP)
The OTA 4.4 update is very far away, march at least (I have my sources)

No problem......yes i can research.....thanks for replying
Try enabling the developer options (you dont need root and a howto can be found on google) and turn off all the transitions and see if your lag goes away.
Just giving this a bump
LBJM i hadnt seen your reply , so i will give it a try when i get home..
I flashed CM11 onto my Gpad but i didnt like it ( personal preference) ive now got the latest Mahdi Rom which is very much like the Nexus5 that i was wanting.
but still i get this lag in Lanscape mode when im scrolling up and down....one side lags to give a wobble effect.

In all apps or only in some? I see a stutter in certain apps that do not cache things far enough ahead (i.e. twitter) when I have the client configured to show the twitpics. However once I know everything is loaded I can scroll up and down without any stuttering problem. Some browsers also have this problem since they also only seem to load in memory the stuff that is rendered on the screen...
Based on what you describe I'm not certain that your wobble and my stutter are the same thing though...
Bump
Ive just gone back to Stock LG for the KitKat update and i still get the scrolling wobble effect in landscape.
Its not a deal breaker but it just bugs me....im suprised no one else has seen this.
its noticable in netflix when you scroll quickly
this is what i mean
