Hey and Welcome !
In response to your Questions:
Pros: Many many many and manay including:
- Flashing Custom ROM for more stability
- Flashing Custom Kernels for more PowerFull Tablet
- Customising your Tab.
- And much more !!!
Cons:
"* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if

I live in India, so does this affect anything related to root??? = No, it simply UNLOCK your device and make you a real owner ! Like SU on Ubuntu or "Run as admin" on Windows
Will root help erase or delete in built apps like google drive, play magazines??? = No, Root is just a binary file in "system/xbin/su (Maybe I am wrong). Which can exploited using apps like SuperUser.
Will i be able to use play store like normal??? = Yes, Root doesn't effect playstore and it won't ANYHOW.
Will i get software updates normally ??? like kitkat????? = No, If you root you Samsung device, kindly forget about OTA updates or KIES. But you can unroot anytime and get OTA updates or via KIES or you can do it using ODIN if it's still rooted.

That's normal that your Tab lags.
Tab 3 has a Marvell CPU w/ a fairly unknown GPU.
It have a Vivante GC1000 GPU while Tab 2 7.0 have a PowerVR SGX540 GPU.
That's why Tab 2 7.0 doesn't lag and Tab 3 7.0 lags.
In addition, Tab 2 7.0 have an OMAP 4430 CPU, which make gaming experience better than Tab 3 7.0
In other word, Tab 3 7.0 and Tab 3 Lite are NOT for Gaming.
If you want a Tab 3 Model for Gaming, pick Tab 3 8.0 which have an Exynos Dual CPU w/ Mali-400 (Quad Core Graphics), or the Tab 3 10.1 which have a faster CPU (Intel Atom Z2560) w/ a middle fast class GPU (PowerVR SGX544MP2 "2 Core Graphics"). Gaming on those two Tablets is just awesome, no lag on any game.
I recommend you read this thread about gaming on Tab 3 7.0
You may want to flash RocketTab Lite to enjoy gaming experience on your Tab 3 7.0 because this Custom Firmaware includes a Gaming Mode !
Just keep in mind that you canNOT flash this Custom ROM and the Mod if your device is NOT rooted

Well, I don't know What to tell to you but you can ask me everything you want and I will help you.
Also, the KitKat update (if available for Tab 3 7.0) should increase performance of the Tab.

You have a lot of aspirations for you new tab and with that comes many dangers. So the very first thing even before thinking about new roms and other firmware upgrades is to backup your device while it is still in its base level state. At least you should put a custom recovery on your device such as CWM or TWRP so you can do this backup. After all that is done, then I would say, play away. If you break something you will always have a way back to the beginning.
Good luck

Try installing Ditto Note 3 ROM by Electron Team (Custom ROM though).. But its worth it! Quite RAM friendly for me. Go try it, every Note3 apps are ported.
As far as I can see there are two projects porting most Note 3 features to Note 2:

Any Custom Roms For the GT T325 in the Near Future?

Hey, i just purchased the Galaxy Tab Pro T325, after looking into Flashing Custom Rom i came to find out there isn't any out, needles to say this is a GREAT device and would have thought to see several cooked up by know, what would be Awesome in my opinion would be a Custom Rom made from the Source of the Latest Galaxy S5, if its possible, that would be hot. i have the note 3 Running a Custom Rom From HyperDrive (Big Up to Them, Best Rom so far for the Note 3), its based off the S5 and its OFF the HOOK. Just a thought, will be here Patiently waiting, cause i love this device..!!!!!
from t311 to t325
I asked me the same. I changed from the Tab3 8.0 lte to the t325 and the only customs i found are for the wifi version.
The T325 is really the outstandinged Tab out there.
I had from nexus7, nexus7 2013, Acer, note8 every tab that reads good at the specs.
But this great tab is perfect.
I rooted it and and changed all things that are possible with xposed. Thats a good deal at the moment.
Not everybody would pay this price for a tablet.

I have a very basic rom I was working on until I broke my screen that u guys can try...nothing but the knox apps have been removed so anything else u don't want will need to be deleted directly from the zip or uninstalled after flash (I'm sure u can find a list of whats safe to remove somewhere on the site). This package has been deodexed & zipaligned but that's about it...u will probably need to download "supersu" & which will ask u to update the"su" binary (just select "normal" method when prompted) after u flash. As an added bonus...4 way multiwindow also known as quad view from the note pro 12.2 has been enabled, along with lockscreen shortcuts as well as multiuser & I also added the assistive widget flashlight back but it only shows up in the widget drawer NOT in the homescreen add widget list for some reason. Also...i have included a fix for using the screen mirroring function (please thank @esgie) with a custom kernel/recovery & enabled the art runtime in the developer options (although this has NOT been tested yet & does NOT work with xposed or deodexed roms which basically deafeats the purpose)
I AM NOT RESPOSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE OR DELETION OF DATA...BE SURE TO BACKUP BEFORE U BEGIN!

[Q] Any way to make a 500-MB RAM android phone faster? Galaxy Ace 4

Hi I just got my first android phone. A Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 with a very low price an spec
turns out that it is super slow and laggy, apps crash constantly, returning to home screen takes 2-5 secs
I've already tweaked it in some ways, like disabling animations, using light laucher, etc. (ART is not available though..)
I'm very new to Android world and I just wanna know if there're any other ways to speed up this phone
maybe custom ROMs or rooting? I can't find either of these for my model. CyanogenMod doesn't support my model and so do the other custom ROMs
It lags badly. Please help :crying:

Do you have model number ?
If phone is very recent you won't find any custom rom yet, so wait a bit.
Without custom rom you can't do a lot... Especially without root.
Try to disable a much apps (stuff like Samsung apps...) as you can, and don't use Touchwizz.
You can't do much more without root or custom rom.

Phone is brand new, i think you can't install custom roms easilly. You need to wait and see if devs are insterested in it.
Try to disable a lot of stuff and find a launcher without touchwizz, i have no better advices.

Bought a G3 , What do I do now?

Hey guys, I've just received my new G3
My knowledge with android phones is very weak, having only rooting my 1st Gen Nexus 7 to and flashing stock roms & owning a windows phone .
Is it worth flashing a new rom to my G3 or should I stick with stock? Any ROM's which are highly regarded? How would I do this + root?
I will be having a 32gb memory card in this phone, Is it better to install everything on the SD card in the first place e.g apps, pictures e.c.t. so if I decide to flash a new ROM I wouldn't lose everything.
Also is there any way to get my contacts from windows live onto my new phone?
I would greatly appreciate your help
* Use it !
* be aware of the sd card, it should be a modern one so you don't risk performance
* don't bother installing stuff on the card - apps are lost anyway
* you can keep personal media / pics / etc on the card, that is a reasonable practice ...
* the current state of software (lollipop) doesn't allow root / flashing stuff; however there are options for kit kat (if you are still on it) and moving then to lollipop keeping your custom parts that allow third party flashing (my 2 cents this is not worth it at the moment ...)
* moving contacts along should be easy by either syncing them to some cloud service (outlook maybe) or exporting / importing them - LG software knows how to import popular formats ...
If you are new read phone FAQ then.
Root it and install xposed framework
you wouldn't recommend any of the lollipop custom roms?
what does xposed framework do?
i am in a similar situation as OP, have been away from android development scene since the S3.

As above. I was looking at the AndroidNow HD rom which seems to look good but is it worth the upgrade over stock?
At the time of writing this, I've successfully rooted my G3 & my current firmware is 4.4.2
how are you finding stock? is it a smooth experience?
im getting mine tomorrow and going on holiday on Saturday so i need to make sure i have the best experience =D

It allows you to tweak a wide range of things, it's fantastic, but only works on Dalvik, not Art. So you have to use KitKat.

SM-T116 rom dilemma!!

Good day XDA!! This is my first ever post or thread on XDA, for about 5 years I have been a spectator to this site, and it has been an essential source for all things us android foondies want and need. But for the past month I have hit a blank when it comes to my new tab3 ve 7.0 sm-t116nq (goyave3g).
It started when I wanted to root it, little to no support for this model was available (at least through the search function) I managed to root through Kingo root on a pc. But now my dilemma is finding/porting rooms for this model. I have no problem with all my Mediatek androids, but I'm in the dark when it comes to samsung. I don't even know where to begin, for other popular Samsung's it's not a problem, obviously because they're popular.
SO, I need some help. I hate this abomination they call touchwiz, I want a vanilla aosp rom for this model, or even better CM or PAC-MAN rom!! I am prepaid to put a lot of time and effort into this. I have extremely limited experience, most of my past successes was actually the success of other xda members (you guys are awesome BTW.) Any info would be apriciated.
So let's revive this tablet and let's start a revolution for budget tablets.

Can anyone help me find pit file for galaxy sm-t116NU??????
OMG, Im also stuck here with SM-T116BU which was officially upgraded to Tab E (somehow) how it happened, i don't know since this was my son's Tab 3v originally.
lately. i have rooted tru inception (nice job for the rooting guys) then tried TWRP 3.1.1.0 but couldnt boot, down ver to TWRP 2.8.7.0 bcos the others are either not TAR for odin or files are missing to boot TWRP recovery.
so far, i have tried CM-13 but failed miserably, perhaps those files are corrupted as well
I enjoyed loading with my "Note3 with touchwiz" DO NOT TRY THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO RECOVER, so i tried using the same ROM N9005_TouchWizMM_V4_16-04-2016. installation smoothly with TWRP into TAB E but could NOT make it BOOT.
I guess some files are missing while downloading those as well or those files have been corrupted thru the years.
N9005_TouchWizMM_V4_16-04-2016 not difficult to find but NEED an expert to cook a SM-116 version since this is best "complete" ROM (need kernel) in my Note3 now
I'll keep trying ROM N9005_TouchWizMM_V4_16-04-2016 into THIS TAB E and mixed with SM_116 kernels n I KNOW I MIGHT BRICK THIS SM-116 Tab E, what the HACK so let it be, NO VENTURE NO GAIN hahahaaa

What exactly are you trying to do?
Well. The TouchWiz works perfectly on my note3 so I'll try to cook a TouchWiz for Sm-t116 from the note3 platform. If u have ready ROM, do send them. Tks in advance !
Ps. Out of town next few days ??

Guys please give the firmware rom for TVRP on the TAB-3 Lite SM-T116 ! Cause when I for some reason flashed TVPP I realized that there are no custom firmwares for this device , But I need 100% working FI-WI, and cyanogen mod does not fit, cause Wi-Fi doesn't work there!
