Google Music Play APK - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I've read that the Google Music app can now save music files to a selected location like an external SD card instead of only on device storage.
As I understand it, this feature only works with KitKat or select "older" devices - like the Galaxy S4.
I don't know if we Hercules users have a different APK, that is missing this option or if this option has been disabled in the apk via some sort of device detection.
If it is the first option, has anyone shared a copy of the KitKat apk that works on the Hercules.

No access external SD on [ROM] Codename: Android 1.3.2

Hi there.
Apps like gallery or music can't get access to my external s-card.
Later installed apps like MX videoplayer can.
When I use USB-connection to my pc, it dosn't show the external sd also.
Any hints folks?
You ROM might be missing the SD drivers. In which case you can't do too much unless you can locate the driver and incorporate it into the ROM. As far as I know.
Thank you. Thats the Point.
Does anyone of you know, which files I have to pull in (from another ICS-ROM for example)? My ROM is not deodexed, so maybe if I know the files to replace (or add) I can manipulate the settings to get them running?

***FIX***
- Download/install DirectoryBind http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1410262
- Set up the source and target directories. (source: /emmc target: /sdcard/external_sd). save.
- Click on the little floppy disk on the left of the field you just added, it should turn green. this enables it!!!! don't skip this! it must be green for it to be enabled.
- Goto preferences and enable "Bind on boot"
profit.
gallery and music now work.
It appears that you may have to rescan your media for this to work for some. If you are having problems with this working, try downloading Rescan Media in the market.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 10.2 - Move to SD Apps

I have just installed cyanogenmod 10.2, android 4.3 on my samsung s4 lte version.
It is a great rom, but I am not able to move apps to my SD. Even if I download Link2SD or FolderMount, which I paid for, they both seem to act
weird and complain. How can I transfer my games and apps to my SD card?
Thanks

How do you use it? Do you manually create the link ? I didnt have to do that with the stock ROM. Also in the app list, it lists many applications as
0 bytes.. and can't do anything with them

Yes. There is a "+" sign in the menu. Tap on it and FolderMount (FM) will ask for source folder (you can browse it via UI) and also asks whether it should create the destination folder automatically.
For example I have Sygic maps on internal SD (/sdcard/Sygic) which is a quite big folder, around 5 GB. So I inked it to external SD - FM autocreated it on external SD and moved the files.
Try to find Youtube videos about FM usage.

Amazon Music does not use external SD-card

Hi,
I use CM 13/Android 6.0.1 on a Galaxy S5 - I hope the LineageOS forum is the right one for this question.
Unfortunately, Amazon Music won't write downloaded music to the external SD-card when I select it in the app. Although the tick is set it always writes to internal memory.
What can I do? I am happy to move the entire app if possible but haven't found an option to do so...
Thank you!

[APP] [MEDIA SCANNER] Fix Missing Music And Files When Transferring Data To PC

Fix Missing Music And Files When Transferring Data To PC
How you ever connected your phone to your pc to transfer a file only to find when you open up the sd card folder on your pc the file or even entire folders are missing?
Have you ever opened up your music app only to find it can't find your music on your sd card?
Well this app will scan your entire sd card and find all those files and make them available - a job that the inbuilt android media scanner should be doing but doesn't always work.
Instructions
Download media.Re.Scan: media scanner for android2.3 to 7.1
Open app
Tick all the relevant boxes if not already ticked
Click start media scan
Note that the media explorer will force close a few times - just keep clicking to reopen it
once done all your files will be visible on your pc via usb and in 3rd party apps
Can you please add Android pie support?

Ask the app developer - details on Google and page
All it does is trigger a manual refresh of the media library - restarting your phone should have the same effect
