[Q] Installing CM 11.0 question - Samsung Captivate Glide

I have been trying everything to successfully install CM 11.0 Kit Kat 4.4 on my Captivate Glide, to no avail.
I have followed these instructions numerous times:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49743700
I have even used Superuser 3.2 RC2 arm signed and the RC3 versions for root.
Everytime I get my device rooted (which I have checked after the fact), I reboot into TWPR, factory reset and wipe the dalvik cache and then try to install the ROM. Everytime I try it has failed and I have to reflash a stock rom.
What in the sam hell am I doing wrong?

are you on 4.0.4?
What version of TWRP are you using (you need to use Bubor's latest TWRP, Fetch it here)

what he said, use the latest TWRP.

Yes, I am running 4.0.4
And I have only been able to use TWRP 2.6.3 (2.6.3.1)...using odin to flash it.
I wanted to use 2.6.3.4 but it was just a zipped recovery image. I thought you couldn't use a zip when installing a recovery? I just wasn't clear on which would actually work.

there is NO 2.6.3.4.
Actually you need 2.7, but version string is 2.6.3.
Recovery without selinux would fail, I dont know other reason to fail. Try to install 2.6.3.1.zip from recovery, reboot to recovery, and install cm again.

[Q]Just flashed CyanogenMod nightly... no GApps?

Updated my DHD running CM6.1.3 to the latest 7.0 nightly build (build 30 iirc) by wiping data in recovery (factory reset) and wiping cache partition, installing the ROM via recovery, rebooting, installing latest signed Google Apps via recovery, and rebooting. I still don't have any Google Apps installed and no way to get them. How do I get my market back? Do I have to flash CWM3? :S
Hey humpser.
What you need to do is flash the latest ClockWorkMod recovery, manually reboot into it recovery mode and then reflash the Gapps. For CM7 to work on the Desire, this is necessary. It's suggested to use the light version that would have been downloaded to your SD from ROM manager, filename "gapps-gb-20110115-signed.zip" as this installs the main Gapps and the rest are downloaded from the Market when you sign into your account. Link below:
http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip
Here's the recovery download link - http://postkreative.eu/ace-cwm-3.0.0.5.img
To do this, you need the Android SDK installed and running on your PC.
- fastboot flash recovery /path/to/<recovery>.img
- fastboot reboot
Here's Cyan's guide - http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Fastboot
Thanks for the detailed reply, I've used fastboot before but will need to give it another go to flash ClockworkMod Recovery latest version. Will update as to how it goes. Thanks again.

google made Cyanogen remove the copywrited parts of android, thats why you have to flash the GApps seperately
Yup, I'm aware, was just having trouble as my old CWM Recovery 2.5 wouldn't flash 'em.
Got fastboot working again after a bit of fiddling and updated to CWM3, flashed gapps and it works great! Thanks!

Wildfire S recovery error

NEED some help. I had TWRP loaded on my Htc Wildfire S. I tried to Flash CM 7.2 but it said FAILED. So I installed CWM through ROM manager. The problem is now I cant get into recovery. When I try to boot in recovery the phone starts up normally. I tried it a lot of times. Still no success. PLEASE help me.!!!
Install TWRP 2.2.0.0(not 2.3).....it works fine for CM7.2
The new recovery doesn't recognize old updater scripts....which is why dont used the new version
You can find it here

I want to use CWM. I found a lot of guides describing how to install custom rom through CWM. How can I remove the TWRP and have only CWM (I think I have both in my system)

If you flash a recovery.... It overwrites the previous one.... Just flash CWM via rom manager

Yeah. I did that. I must have only CWM in my cell. I had flashed it through ROM manager.

[Q] rom flashing frustration

Finally rooted my s3, when I first tried to flash cm 10 I was getting an install aborted message. A post on this forum suggested tryong twrp instead of clockwork so I downloaded goo manager. I downloaded cm 10 and gapps through twrp and started by wiping. When I went to flash couldnt find the files for cm 10 so went to restore so I could start over...discovered my clockwork backup wouldnt work with twrp(rookie mistake lol) so reflashed clockwork so I could restore and start over. Redownloaded cm 10 and gapps with twrp checking the filepath for the save this time. Problem is I cant get twrp to be my boot recovery so that I can save a nandroid with it and try flashing the rom.ive tried setting the boot recovery to twrp with clockwork itself, tried rebooting through goo, tried setting twrp to default with rom toolbox, tried rebooting with twrp manager and finally uninstalled clockwork ....no matter what my boot recovery is clockwork .how can I get twrp to load as boot recovery so I can save a backup with twrp and try flashing cm 10? Flashed roms on old devices before and never had this much trouble.

Did u have the latest cwm recovery (6.0.3.6) installed when u originally tried to flash? I have never had an issue with cwm, and until I do, I'm not switching to twrp. Which version of cm 10 specifically were u trying to flash?

After doing some reading I think the abort is caused by having the older ics bootlaoder.ive never had to update one before so im a bit hesitant. ..do you know if I update and try to switch back to my original restore or to a different rom (other than cm 10) Will I have to change the bootloader back again or will I run into a greater chance of problems in the future?

[Q] Problem Installing ANY AOSP Roms

Hey guys. I have a problem installing any AOSP based roms after upgrading to stock KK.
Here's what i did previously:
1. Upgrade KK using flashtool CSE method
2. Root using towelroot (tried using framaroot before but it was failed)
3. unlock bootloader using freegee, mako unlock and install TWRP
4. flash twrp multirom
5. made a nandroid backup
6. wipe data, cache, etc
7. install carbon rom, pa gapps
8. reboot
now my device stuck on boot animation. i've waited for an hour, nothing happened.. I've tried carbon, omni, CM, 4.4.4 and 4.4.2 version, all failed. However, i was able to install artmod without problem.
i wonder what went wrong? is it something to do with partition? can anyone help me please?
Thanks.

Well, i think i know the standard procedure, having flashed roms countless times before. But thanks anyway.
Just an update, i tried to flash gproj rom. It was successfully installed, but i got no data and wifi working. So probably it's modem problem. Hopefully someone can help me here..
Just try with a different recovery, like Philz touch.

That happens to me too
In my case, GPROJ works fine but GEEB get stuck at the logo only. Maybe you are only using GEEB ROM, or vice versa.
For example SLIM LP v0.6 uses GPROJ and v0.7 uses GEEB. v0.6 works fine for me and v0.7 doesn't work. Same with BLISSPOP v3.4(gproj) and v4(geeb).
I wonder if there's a way to use GEEB.
I have a E970.

Q>Where Can I download the gapps of CM 12.1 for T999

I want to flash the CM 12.1 to my T-Mobile Galaxy S III but I don't know where to download the gapps for the latest nightly here
i also dont know if T-Mobile is arm, arm64, or x86
so I cant download in this site from cynogenmod
another question- is it the Cyanogen Recovery from this link will be use to flash the ROM or it is the recovery that will be use after flashing the CM12.1?
Use the ARM gapps.
I recommend using either Philz Touch recovery or TWRP, both of which can be flashed using Odin.
I have never used Cyanogen's recovery but have had great success with Philz and TWRP.

thanks on your reply but I already solve it using the recovery from ROM manager app that I downloaded in the Play store but there is still a problem on it when I update using CyanogenMod updates it will fail to flash automatically after clicking install, so I still need to flash it manually, that's why I still need to flash the recovery provided with CyanogenMod
I have never used the recovery from cyanogen so I don't know if it will automatically dirty flash the update. I also don't know if the cyanogen recovery can flash other zips such as supersu, different gapp versions, etc.
Automatic flashing is not something I like to do because a nightly can cause problems. By using twrp, I can easily make a nandroid backup before flashing a new nightly.
Just tried the Cyanogen recovery and, after downloading a nightly update, I click install and it reboots to recovery and dirty flashes the updated ROM; however, the Cyanogen recovery would not flash the LP Gapps while Philz and TWRP were able to flash the Gapps. Also, the Cyanogen recovery does not have an option to create a nandroid backup.
