Hi All,
Does anyone Know how i can get Videos to play using MX Player?(or similar)
KitKat 4.4 doesnt seem to like other players and i cant even find the built in app?
It looks cheap and nasty saying plugins missing and just basic play and thats it
I've tried different browsers to no effect , they all just load into default?
or can't i use other players?:crying:

Try Chrome with MX. works fine for me - if it always goes to default, reset the defaults in the app settings.

Default video player I believe is hidden, does downloading MX not give you a prompt when trying to play a video? There should be a prompt like "play with" and the you can select "just once" or "always", then select MX player
If you've selected the default player to play it always, then a factory reset will help. Make sure you back everything up.
Seriously? Factory reset just to clear default apps is a bit extreme.
How about trying default reset apps such as:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appiator.defaultappmanager
Nexus 7 LTE
Stock rooted KOT49E
Faux Kernel

Alternatively :
If you use ES file Explorer you can long press a file, hit more/menu, go to "open as" select video, then select the installed program you want to use.

The current version of MX player worked fine on 4.4 but lost compatibility with 4.4.1 update. Im just waiting for the developers to release their update of MX, it will come soon Im sure.

Try lastest VLC beta instead, works great with 4.4.2.

Are you in the USA? I'm in the USA and the VLC program says it's not compatible with my Nexus 7 and it says it's not available in my country. I have Android 4.4.2.

Thanks! It's working. I didn't even think of trying the daily builds since the app store said it's not even compatible with my device.
I'm using this Dice Player for playing videos, works on 4.4.2.
get it on Google Play.

Me too. The good thing mx player not working on 4.4.2 is forcing us to search better alternatives. Diceplayer is a good one. Samba server, ftp, stream, dts, audio booster etc. And no ads here.
Sorry my english.

Diceplayer has a nice Samba browser, but it won't play any of my .mkvs over my home network like MX would.

.mkv playing over home network nicely here.
Have you tried using a libffmeg.so diceplayer compliant?

The reason the play store says it is not compatible is because it is blocked in many countries including the US. I read somewhere that it is a licensing issue.
I'm using the play music app and when a new song supposed to begin it doesn't start, I mean that there is a silence until I'm turning on the screen, why and is there any solution?
Sincerely,

I just tried the "Music" player (the blue+green logo) and it's works great.
I'm also using recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.7-serranoltexx.tar.
I think to remove the play app.

Yep, try removing and then reinstalling it - sometimes such a simple thing solves the issue.
I still don't have enough posts, so let's post here.
The ROM works very well so far and is very smooth.
Thanks.
Except there is a force close when changing anything in the USB storage settings (MTP / mass storage).

Isn't that only from notifications, and only a fc? I did not have a chance to try that. However, I will install textsecure and this way hope to circumvent this bug.
It also cannot play back flac files with a music player. I'm not sure that wasn't the case with the older CM7 version, though.

Perhaps you can try an app like MXplayer? I wouldn't expect the stock app to support flac.

PowerAmp can be a useful player for flac files?
Hi guys..
I'm looking for a way to control my music player.
Specifically the ability to fast forward/rewind within a song track... (or even better if it can do track-bar scrubbing) from my watch.
I've been searching around for apps and i couldn't find any with such functionality so far.. Anyone here have any ideas? maybe some tasker gurus...?
Thanks!
other than the skip forward or back songs?

Yup. I know there are quite a number of wear apps that support skipping tracks and adjusting volume..
I'm looking for a way to "rewind" or "fast forward" to a specific part of a song..
Any ideas?

I tried boss.. Apparently the fast forwarding function works only with very specific apps like audio books.. It doesn't work with normal music players.. I even emailed them and asked about it, no luck...
Is there any app other than google play music that can play songs stored in the watch?

As far as I know, the only other player that can do that is the Xperia Music app.

If you use poweramp you could try poweramp remote 4 android wear. It let you browse your artists, albums and songs on your watch and than play them on your phone
