I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to enable backlight notifications in the new LiquidSmooth 4.4.2 ROM. In the screenshots they posted it shows a "light options" section under options with a notification light optioun that can be checked but when I flashed the ROM the section is not there. This is what they say if should look like but that whole light options section is missing from my options menu.

If anyone has this same ROM flashed and knows how to enable this feature please let me know. Also, if you know of another 4.4.2 ROM that has this feature le me know so I can give it a try.
Thanks!

i do not think there is a notification light on the S2. Do you mean the back LED light?
There is on the S2X (t989d). There's keys below the screen that light up.

The kernel needs to support bln. Maybe you'll need a custom kernel.

The lights that usually appear between the buttons on my Arc S no longer work and I can't remember when they stopped! I wonder if a mod I've installed is to blame but I don't want to wipe my phone and start from scratch if possible so am looking for some help...
I am running 4.0.2.A.0.42.
Here is what I have installed:
V6 SuperCharger
I thought this might be the culprit so I used Script Manager to stop running the script at boot, rebooted and it made no difference.
Reboot option in power menu
I am using the one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1094730
Status bar widget mod
I am using the Ultra theme from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295254
That's about it.
However, one thing is odd - I seem to have an 'Automatic brightness' setting in Display options and I'm pretty sure it wasn't there when I first got the phone!
Any help is welcome.

Found it - the reboot mod was to blame.
was there any other impact other than "they just didnt light up" ?
Nope - just no lights. Seems that a few of the reboot mods available in the apps forum have the same bug.
How did you get the option to turn off/on automatic brightness? I dont have that on my phone and have same firmware as yours.

It appeared when I installed the reboot mod - but it doesn't do anything so you're not missing out! I guess the reboot mod files must of originally come from an SE device that had working automatic brightness.
oh thats too bad
I am not sure if anybody else noticed this or posted this somewhere else, but here I go.
I am currently running ARHD 18.4 with xm kernel. I was just wiping out some dirt out of my screen and for some reason the screen turned on. After a while of investigation, I found out that if you swipe across the navigation bar (from back button to recent app button or the other way around), you can turn screen on/off !!! I was so amused to find this because from time to time I cannot be bothered to reach up to the top to press the home button
I am not sure if you guys knew about this, but for those of you who didn't know here's your tip. Please have a shot and report back. Thanks
LOL. It's called sweep2wake.
A common feature of custom kernels.

And just to add to TT's info for you, this isn't a ROM Feature.
It is a Kernel feature !!
Alex S2W is the most well known, aswell as NCX I think has this feature.

After updating my S3 (stock, unrooted) to 4.3 my camera LED lights up when receiving a call. This is a new behavior. I can't find a setting to control this.
Can anyone help me find the setting to turn off the flash LED (I have searched Call Setting, Call Alerts, , Additional settings, Ringtones, display and LED menus)?
Mike

+1 Bump
Did you try doing what AndroidBH said? Bumping without providing any further details or developments isn't going to produce results because no one knows what stage you're at.

I'm at work so sometimes they strip out pictures. Did I miss something?

Just a screenshot of the settings.
Go to Settings >> My device tab >> Accessibility. Scroll down to "Flash notification" and see if it's checked. If it's checked, turn it off. If it's off, toggle it on, then off.
Fixed!
Ran home at lunch at was able to see the graphic. Toggled it on and then off and it is fixed. Came back to work and saw your comment. Left a thanks.

Turn off Proximity Sensor. Most likely in Phone Settings... Haven't been on AOSP in a minute, but it used to be an option.

Couldn't find phone settings. I checked every section of the options menu and there was nothing about proximity sensors. I guess I'll just have to deal with it. Thank.

I meant that I couldn't find it anywhere in the options xD. I'd go back to touchWiz but I always get terrible battery life. So each rom has a different drawback for me xD
