B118 is actually newer than the B122, B118 also has a newer kernel than the B122. I'd go with the B118.

This is not entirely true because bootloader was always unlocked, but agent loader here is still locked.
If you try to install UPDATE.APP you will see this:
HUAWEI SDCARD&USB UPDATE AGENT VERSION 2.0
This phone is secureboot phone.
This phone is LOCK state.

No you must not have a root. On Chinese rom that option is by default.

You can just unpack this ROM and extract boot.img.

Then, you can use @stapler85 's F240 CM12 kernel.
With this, you can use CM12 based ROMs in F240.
(Flash E980 ROMs and flash that patch.)

In Korea, LG will officially support Android 5.0 Lollipop to Optimus G Pro (F240), so I think you can wait for that.
(I'm not sure that you're knowing this, but LG will change Gpro'S UI into G3 Lollipop's UI. I think you will be satisified at it.)

Hmmm...I like LG's convinience and nice UI, but certainly, Samsung makes the better phone that LG.
I think Samsung always fits in nice timing. (Look at G Flex 2. It takes Snapdragon 810, which causes lots of heat. Qualcomm said it will fix 810 for Galaxy S6, and OnePlus postponed their new phone, OnePlus Two. Then, how about G Flex 2 that is already made? Terrible, terrible, terrible.)

What's new version do ?
As far as I know update version 47 has been done to remove malware and version 48 to repair notes (icon from quick settings).
Cuoco has also stated that he will probably stop updating v11s due to many problems. But he is going to release v14s, which is ported from x900.

Yes, the 12S is good to stay on until a stable 14S from CUOCO or a good CM12.1/CM13 alternative has been released for the X800+ US.

Yes - using 11s (V48) on my US 64 GB version. LTE does work for me on Vodafone network in Germany.

That site is pretty much useless always says phones don't work on LTE that do actually work..And yes I now have 12s on my phone with working LTE on both band 2 and 17..but that site says no LTE as usual

Do you remove virus vulnerability from the ROM? For example v14 should be clean i suppose? Thank you!
I installed 12s version of this rom and experienced loads of trouble, some app wont run just stuck at black screen or login screen (clash royale, instagram), facebook force closing, etc. Went back to stock 11s backup and I can't root it with SuperSU. Any idea what went wrong?
Hello.
On my YT channel one of viewers gave me a link to official update for KIW-L21, Danish version of update, but as I checked (I live in Poland an my Honor 5X is also from that country) it works like a charm on any Honor 5X which model codename is "KIW-L21".
Only what you have to do is to go to this LINK - it's official Huawei Support page, but in Denmark, then click onto search result, and then click onto "Download Nu" - update is 1.8GB.
After download you have to:
unzip this archive and put folder "dload" into your Honor 5X main memory,
then go to "Updater" in Settings,
click "Menu" then select "Local update"
and choose "UPDATE.APP" searched by updater,
then "Install" and that's all, official update for KIW-L21 will be installed in few minutes.
I made a YouTube tutorial, but it is in my primary, polish, language, but I think the video will show you the process I listed above.
Unfortunate MM is very ****t (Laggy as hell after a few days, Insane battery drain) . Stay on LP and wait for a better MM build or just switch to CM

What failed? Try pico instead. For your data connection problem, maybe it's a temporary problem with your carrier.

Got to setting/sim settings and see your apn setting is there??if not fill it with you service provider settings..
For gapps I recommend Pico.and if you want Google now launcher you can use micro..
