I would like to ask if any forum members have the knowledge or ability to modify the current set of toggles in the notifications bar so that they do not scroll when you first pull down the bar. It may be a minor annoyance, but the precious few seconds i waste by clicking on mobile data whilst waiting for it to scroll across to Wi-Fi is a killer

How about just change the toggles order? The scroll is actually kind of cool to me.
You can follow guide here to change the toggles order. Or you can just flash my theme, I do got one theme which is same stock look, just only change the order.
Unfortunately I don't want to just rearrange the icons and would like to stop the scrolling animation all together.
(Bump)
If you flash a 15 Toggle mod it will disable the automatic scrolling of the notification items.
If you are on a deodexed LF6, here are two options for you:
Stock look
Darker look

In on omega 6.0 based on LF2 will it still work? Or are they that specific to version ?
You know what, I find the same thing annoying. Would love to disable it as well.
I'm running a rooted stock. Don't wanna change the order, I like the look of the stock toggles, so not really interested in changing them. Just want the damned scrolling to stop!!!
Here i thought I was going to be the only one annoyed by this. Would definitely love a way to just get it to load up at the first 5 without having to animate the little scrollback
This scrolling is the first thing i noticed and it annoyed me quite a bit. Keep hitting the wrong button while trying to enable Wifi as used to the quick press on the S2.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
If not, I think there's a gap for an app!

if you're really bothered and this is a real issue for you - Omega 7.1 does NOT scroll the toggles when pulling down the notification bar.
edit: didn't read above properly... seems this is because of the 15 toggles mod.

use the 15 toggles, then it won't scroll.
Could I use that on the stock rom?

OMG, i'm irritated by this same problem, when i pull down the notification bar just to activate/deactivate mobile data, it starts scrolling to the left. Anyone found a way to disable it without rooting

No not really. Aside from custom roms and the 15 toggle thing. But I don't want to do either. I've just been living with it!
Really annoying though.

What is the advantages of this ROM? all input is appreciated.
Well, if you enjoy CyanogenMod, the hybrid Paranoid Android ROM is CM with additional customization options. You can run it just like CM, or you can switch between different UI options.
You can switch between many modes, phone, tablet, tablet big, phablet, phablet big, hybrid stock its great!

to me the only difference i notice is the options settings in settings, and the place of the notification bar please elaborate. i am using this rom dont get me wrong, but im trying to find the advantages in the different modes.
The main difference outside of the settings which was mentioned just above, is the way apps work. Devs build apps to work based on screen res, and a tablet has a higher DPI count, so they can create the app to look and work one way on DPI settings of x#+ and make it different for y#-. You can see examples of it in the gmail app where the inbox and folders are on the left while the message is viewed on the right as opposed to opening the message in a full window by itself. So aside from a greater amount of options and customization available to you, you could technically still run it as just a phone ROM.
so you would change the dpi of the app it self? and see changes? where would i be able to find proper settings for apps in tablet mode?

You don't need to change the "DPI" in the ROM, per say, it's more or less presets already in how the app would work. You would choose the app to run phone/phablet/tablet. The other roms let you change the DPI in the buil prop for the whole phone, which can cause some issues, but this rom changes how aspects work under a preset and leave the build.prop alone.
I don't know what you mean about proper settings in tablet mode.
I have cm10 with expanded desktop but I'm wondering if anyone has done a mod where a gesture will toggle the visibility of the soft keys. It's exactly what I, along with a ton of other people, are looking for. Hell, I'll pay someone to do it for us!!

What I think would be nice is if we could just get rid of the navbar and replace it with a gesture from the bottom edge to reveal the ring in my screenshot, except the nav controls will be on that ring
AFAIK GMD gesture control supports this. Not quite sure. Just try the lite version first.

Few options are out there already.
GMD - You can set various swipes such as 45* up/left for back, up for home, etc, activated at the bottom.
App that I forget the name of but enables pie control in any app. You can set multiple layers as well as an inner and outer pie ring, but this can get a bit clustered. Realistically you can probably set all of your most used apps into the pie on various layers though and get rid of every shortcut.
Latest PA has a more feature rich but less customized pie. Battery bar, time, notifications, access notification panel, per-app color of pie, and more. However, unlike the app above you cannot add additional items into the pie, at least not yet.

LMT with PIE Control is IMHO the Name of the app. In the last version it includes also the swipe from the bottom like in Para...Rom (don't know the name of the rom right now). But it's not the same. A simple swipe from the bottom and it should show the orig. softkeys. That would be soooooo cool! I would never ever switch back and set the expanded desktop active
I have GMD installed and I was not able to hide only the soft keys.
The only option I found hides the soft keys AND the notification bar on the top of the phone, so valuable info like battery, signal strength etc are also hidden.
Any ideas to hide only the soft keys?

Not totally gesture but u must take a look at paranoid android PIE control. It's still in beta but it has a lot of potential.
I think u would like it.... Here are some examples...

Exactly what I was looking for
But how stable is paranoid android compared to CM10
My main issue is I haven't found a good way of hiding the softkeys. GMD closes the whole SystemUI so lose the top bar and app switcher, and the Fullscreen Toggle that a lot of people use removes the in-app menu button which is not ideal as I don't really want to have a gesture just to access the basic menu.
Is there a good way of doing this that I've missed?

I'm running it from day 1 (got my N4 since half December) and it's perfectly stable. I always wait a little while before updating and follow the tread to be sure there are no great bugs. If everything's ok then I'll update to a newer version. The PIE option is really Beta so there will be some bugs.
I think u just must try it, paranoid android is really a original and renewing ROM. Not just because the pie, but also the hybrid, per app color and dpi option.
It's just as stable, if not more stable then cm10.1 The rom is based on AOSP so should be as stable as the original one.

Remember it's a beta. Development is going very fast and I'm sure they will find a great solution for that.

Paranoid Android ROM has a new mod called "pie". Its exactly what you're looking for. You can use an app called Smart statusbar and it works beautifully with PIE.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I downloaded GMD pro and so far it's pretty cool. That PIE mod looks amazing. Any way someone can rip it and make it work with any ROM? If not, I might have to bite the bullet and just flash the ROM.

another option might be the Hide Bottom Bar app from the play store.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows of an app that gives you a nav bar. I've tried searching quite a bit. I found a thread detailing how to mod some files to bring up the bar but I wasn't able to get that to work. There's also someone who made one specifically for the Wicked ROM but I've also had some problems with that. I saw the post on the XDA portal about Ultimate Dynamic Navbar but unfortunately that one automatically hides, and if you set it to stay up it covers up apps and things at the bottom of the screen.
Best case scenario I'd like something that gives you the options most any AOSP based ROM gives you. I've switched over to CM and AOKP ROMs just for that feature but unfortunately I need WiFi calling. I'd be willing to pay for such an app but I just haven't been able to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the most part the NAV bar is intergrated into the framework of the ROM. If it's not built in you can't just activate it. Any app that creates one is just an overlay.
However there may be ways to flash a patch to add it to the rom framework in recovery depending on the rom
This has info on how to enable in ROM, and here is a nav bar for wicked v3 as well. The first link worked for me to get the nav bar.
Although the rom is still in beta and new features will be added soon, here are some things that would make it perfect(I hope the Devs see this):
1. Screen record and screenshot options in quick settings or power menu.
2. Download speed in status bar.
3. Cyanogen Mod 10 style GPS quick settings tile that doesn't ask for location consent every time (saw this in gravitybox)
4. Camera tile in quick settings.
5. Clear all button in recent apps.
This feature list is not too farfetched and I hope that the Devs read this thread and bring these features to the ROM.
+1 to clear all recent apps button, really miss this one
Nexus 7 LTE
SlimKat KOT49H

I would love for the slim team to bring back widget view pager..haven't seen this feature included on any KitKat roms...Also would love a quick tile for quiet hours and an option to show the cpu temp in status bar

Official statement: Two of the most requested features are the "clear all" in recents apps and the DPI changer in settings. This is our comment about these requests:
- We won't implement the clear all button because killing all apps is generally unnecessary and might even be bad for the overall performance. You can read more about it here: http://slimroms.net/index.php/faq/slimbean/238-why-do-i-have-less-memory-free-on-my-device
- We are working on the DPI changer and will include that in the rom in the foreseeable future.

Quiet Hours
1. Quiet hours: option to bypass android starred contacts aka favorite contacts. Now only disable, all numbers and contacts.
.2 On/off setting to QH (bypass time setup, like "allways on").
3. icon notification bar when QH is on (show / do not show the settings)
notification led settings: Disabled when charge.
Thanks!
suspend action (option to select data, gps, wifi, 2G - OFF when screen goes into off)

I don't think you read the post. Clearing apps like some sort of ocd iphone user doesn't help anything and it hinders proper operation of the OS. SO why should they add it?

Blurred lockscreen would be awesome!
Just tried SlimKat RC1, and it runs really smooth. 1 question though:
Will all features from SlimBean eventually get ported over? Like Battery Bar, Dual Pane Settings, Advanced reboot etc?
Thanks
Clear All button
Yes, I've also grown accustomed to the Clear All button, and miss it in SlimKat.
However, I acknowledge this is yet another remnant of an ancient time when Android had rather crappy memory management, so closing apps manually was a must.
Ever since 4.0, memory management has improved a lot, making the habit of closing apps manually unnecessary.
Closing apps manually also wastes more battery.
EDIT: To see Android doing its thing, pay attention when you play memory-hungry games (I play RR3). Sometimes during the race, when you hit Home and open another app, you can jump back into the game right where you were. Sometimes the game is restarted from the blue EA screen.
