[Q] Nokia BH 505 (Bluetooth stereo headset) + Nexus 5? - Nexus 5 Accessories

Anyone with experience with the Nokia BH 505 with this phone?
does it play music when you click the button? any disconnects?
does it accept calls when you press the call button?
I am on franco kernel, and lately people have been complaining about bluetooth disconnects when phone is in deep sleep.
Any advice?

I've got a BH-503 and it works flawlessly... Including all those buttons.. Chaos kernel 10.2 on Droidkang, probably a bit old so I might not have the bugs you speak of...

I tested both the BH-505 and BH-503, both work perfectly

Thanks guys for replying.
I just want to add that I have finally bought the headset, and it works. Totally recommend it.. ??

Going to buy it for Nexus 5
I wanna buy Nokia BH-505 for my Nexus 5. Have upgraded it to lollipop. Any issues or recommendations? Should I go for it?
Can you also suggest me websites in India to get a genuine product? The amazon seller has a second hand product and flipkart is charging a very high price.

Though i am using Nokia BH 503 and it works fine for me. 2 Hours of music time or 8-10 hours of talk time, Good enough from a stereo headset.
I have been using my Nokia BH-905 for a few months, and it is really perfect
But it's a bit expensive (had it for 200€, don't know how much it would be for you ^^')

Sony Ericsson MW600 is quite good. I've been using it for a month without any problems. Volume control is touch based rather than buttons and that's a bit difficult to get used to, but it works. Next/previous song buttons and mic works without any problems too.

I would have to agree with you on this one. They are VERY expensive but well worth the price. If you like decent full audio, these are the way to go!
Best,

The Nokia BH-905 has, I think, the same audio quality, and its battery life is quite better

[Q]Is there any way to downgrade to 4.2 or lower?

Hello everyone.
I have bought N7 2nd generation few days ago and I feel very uncomfortable with android 4.3.
Is there any solution for downgrade to 4.2 or lower?
No.

ahh yes that's true, there may be stuff out there that won't work on 4.3. Only thing i can say about that is to contact the dev and wait for an update to the app. i know that's not what you wanted to hear, sorry. other than that though how do you like it? i got mine a few days ago and its been fantastic, best android device i've ever owned

I am really content with my new android device nexus 7
But... i think stereo speaker isn't louder than I expected.
It seems to have similar volume level with another devices..
And headphone jack is too quiet for me.
It is pretty much quieter than my ex-device Samsung Galaxy S2.
Is that only problem of mine?
thats a good question, havent even tried the headphone jack yet, guess i will now

How's yours? I think it is so quiet with high-impedance headphone.
I also think it maybe a problem of Android 4.3..

Some Korean apps... and sound mods like viper4android.
And i think 4.3's audio output is quieter than 4.2.
My N7 is sooo quiet, both headphones and speakers.
Low volume really makes me disappointed.

Sorry
I think you would lose more than you would gain
Newer devices have advances that play well with the newer OS systems that are available so in my view retro versions may not work as well with some of the more advanced designs in the device thingy.
That said I feel the volume is plenty loud and in fact sounds really good. This is without a doubt the best 7" tablet available at this time. The Nexus 10 is the best 10" tablet available at this time, yes better than the apple products. The audio is better and the screens are better and you can set it up as you please a more mature attitude from the manufacturer if you will. Less hand holding, less paternalistic access to your device.
I bought mine at Office Max with the 20% discount, I felt that the price was almost unbelievable and was surprised when they had some left in stock.
I would like more memory 64GB would be nice but I rooted it and use stick mount to run videos and move files.

Hi:
You might want to try these JBL Bluetooth speakers--they are loud:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009AYLDSU/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As for Korean apps, you might try backing up the apk files and installing them. I know that Google says many of my Chinese apps are incompatible but they all work. Worth a try.
Let us know if you find a work around with bluetooth headphones, apps or anything else that works. It's going to be a rocky road with Bluetooth and 4.3. Many Bluetooth keyboards and some headphones don't work with 4.3. I'm reluctant to order anything Bluetooth without confirmation from others that it works with 4.3
I ordered some LG Bluetooth headphones in June. They worked with the Nexus 7 2012 but only played 1/4 volume on my Galaxy S3 so I returned them.
Keep us posted.
Tom
My sound on the headphones is good/decent. At about 1/2 volume is comfortable to me.
I'm not much of an audiophile so I don't know how impedance effects the volume. It's not extremely loud at max volume, though. I'd probably still be able to hear my music while on the lawn mower or on my motorbike but not sure about a jet plane ^^
Speakers at max volume is fine for a quiet room, but outside it probably won't be very loud.
Hope this helped some.

Just confirming that my bluetooth keyboard (made by Anker for ~$25 on Amazon) works.
I just paired it and this is the first thing I've typed. Seems to do well. I can even alt-tab to other stuff running. Sweet.
Also just connected my bluetooth apple mightymouse (or whatever they're called) and that's working as well (at the same time as the keyboard)
Maybe someone will see this and find it helpful =)

Thank you for your valueable opinion.
To me, I'm very satisfied with another features and there was no intend to diminish Google or Nexus.
And I'm very proud of having brand-new nexus which have the sharpest screen among the world.
What I want to say is Nexus 7's audio quality is quite good but volume is low, lower than how I expected.
Within my experience, commonly, tablets usually make more powerful sound than phone but my Nexus 7 doesn't.
It seems to have simmilar power with phones. I just feel sad about that.

Thank you for attention.
Bluetooth is great and easy protocol for sharing small files or connect simple devices, but it is not so good for audio.
Nexus 7 doesn't support apt-x, so bluetooth will impair Nexus 7's quite good quality sound.
At this time I have no bluetooth device so I cannnot find which one works, which one doesn't.
Sorry for bad answer.

Maybe mine seems simmilar with yours, so I can think my device isn't corruped or something.
In fact I doubted my Nexus is a normal or not.
Thanks, thanks again.
Speakers are really loud. Comparable to my sons Samsung Tab and much much louder then the first gen.
As for apps, just because some apps haven't been given the green flag for 4.3 doesn't mean I won't work. I've sideloaded tons of apps that work fine.
Nothing really different between 4.3 and 4.2 cosmetically. You shouldnt want to downgrade just because a few devs haven't updated yet.

You would have to find a ROM that boost the volume. Just going to 4.2.2 wont increase your volume. I've been playing around with some stuff to boost volume and hopefully will have a mod out soon for it
But player is right...the diff between 4.2 and 4.3 are min. They did make a lot of battery saving tweaks, BT stack tweaks and other hardware tweaks but its more hardware related then os related

So no problem when calling people with microphone (low sound quality etc.) ?
And do you recommend anything else with Mic. for nexus 5?
Seriously? Noone? ...
Don't have that pair, but the ones that came with my iPhone work well enough. The sound quality is crappy, but what can you expect from an Apple product. /shrug
By crappy sound I mean the music and people's voices as I hear them, the mic works well from what I'm told. Music and all sounds crappy on these things regardless of what I plug them into.

I use Sony MDR-XB50AP's and as the name suggests, it's made to work with pretty much every Android device. Great SQ in general and if you don't mind some quality bass you'll love them. They retail for lower than those Sennheisers.
Xiaomi piston 3 are best and they cost 12$ from china

I've been using them since February and nope haven't noticed any issues besides V4A or AudioFX bugs but those have nothing to do with the headset themselves.

WOW MAN Thank you so much!!! I bought them today and they are amazing! Crazy bass and SQ!
Also the Microphone works Great with Nexus 5 (And Button for Answer Calls + Play/Pause works with no problem)
Thank you for the advice again! :good:

headphone sound stinks!

I am using an unlocked ATT G3 on cricket. I use Iheart radio while exercising, walks etc. I have noticed my wifes 39.00 ZTE phone has better sound through the headphones.
I have downloaded and installed countless equalizer programs through play store. They all seem to lower an already low volume.
I picked up an IDOL 3 from ebay and the sound is terrific.
Is there any hope for the G3?
Thanks

Sound isnt as loud as other phones I have owned and there is very little bass and sounds like a transistor radio.
Sorry for so many questions but besides the headphone sound I really like the phone and would prefer to keep it rather than the plastic idol 3 I just purchased to try.
Does anyone know of an equalizer that works on this phone without rooting?
Thanks again for putting up with my quandary!!

Nope, no lightning ports here. Bluetooth or USB-C
I would not recommend any AAC only headphones to Android. Only Apple music can use AAC codec. Also there is no value for money at all. For same or less money you have much better headphones with Aptx codec and can enjoy much better sound quality (eg via Tidal HiFi)

Android O supports AAC

From what I've read you can't do it on Android but if you connect them to an iOS device you can change the settings and they will work on android as well.
I bought a pair of Airpods specifically for my Pixel 2xl and have had zero problems with them. I do have an iPad that I used to set up gestures and I use AssistantTrigger to add a gesture for launching Assistant, which works quite well. You may be able to set the gesture commands from that app now, even without an iPhone/iPad. From all the reviews and real world useage I saw, they were just the best quality and bang for my buck. I use them every day and like I mentioned before, have had no problems with them.
Edit: after looking at the AssistantTrigger app, I was wrong, I don't think you can set up the commands from the app.
