It should be Sim unlocked already, unless the Carrier is locking Nexus devices which they really shouldn't be doing. You can go here http://www.cellunlocker.net/ and have them unlock the phone for you. They are cheap and I have always had great customer service.

I believe you are wrong here.
Only because the device in question in this instance is a VZW device. If this was a GSM Maguro galaxy nexus supplied thru Google play, then yes it should be unlocked (or can easily be Sim unlocked). But the vzw TORO gnex has (what I believe) to be VZW specific radios to run specifically on their CDMA/LTE network. I am not certain if this can be used in other areas that do not support the same bands as VZW. Newer devices out have much newer SoC that include radios that have a much wider range of use on different network freqs.
Again, I could be mistaken, but specifics will need to be checked into concerning this VZW Gnex(toro) and it's radio operating ranges. Shouldn't be too difficult to find out (and should be info somewhere within this site on this)
Please help me out, i need to get through, i didnt find the information thats why i posted in here

Yes I understand.
I will try my best to Google search some specifics for ya if I have a minute to go digging
But usually, I thought you could always just take it to the store of a carrier you want to use and ask them to see if it is possible. Some may do it for free or a small fee since they know if they do then they will be able to have you as a customer
Apologies I am not of more help at the moment

Is there a way to make a rooted and SIM-unlocked DInc2 usable on AT&T and T-Mo networks in the US? Any sort of flashable upgrade to any internal components, hacked radio or whatnot that would achieve that purpose?
Really?? Your question wasn't answered when you posted this in the development forum? You need to sim unlock your phone via verizon or xtc clip.

Ah, rude comment followed by subpar answer, apparently that's the norm on xda? What would the world be if we didn't continuously punish people for harmless mistakes? Grow up.

LEARN TO READ, will ya?
The phone is *already* SIM unlocked and rooted. However, Verizon blocks AT&T and T-Mobile SIMs even on SIM-unlocked phones. Hence the question.

Thanks for the support, snowman, but this was no mistake.
The question was phrased perfectly, and I am sure I am not the only one who would benefit from a solution.
In fact, the whole reason I posted it in the development forum initially is because, based on my research, there is no solution as of yet, and if it is possible at all, it will probably require further developers' involvement to find it.
If anyone here wants to prove me wrong, I would appreciate a concrete answer or a link to a solution.
I'm fairly certain I've read of the DINC 2 being used on T-Mobile successfully, not sure if I've read of AT&T though. Can't for the life of me remember where I read it though, probably here or Droid-Forums.net.

Thanks, but I don't believe this thread answers the question. Or am I missing something?
Haven't tried it, but here's a link that should offer a solution:

The thread contains instructions for how to input an unlock code that should allow you to use other carriers' SIM card both in the US and abroad.
Good luck.

If I'm not mistaken its a global phone. However the GSM frequency used abroad is different than in the states. Therefore I don't think it's possible.

It's a quad band phone, so the problem is not with frequencies.
The problem is with verizon specifically precluding AT&T and T-Mo SIMs from working even when DInc2 is SIM-unlocked. Not sure which part of firmware is responsible for it, but I'd imagine it's flashable, so, given attention from the right developer, fixable.
I would really prefer to hear from people that know of a solution or are able to produce one. Lots of guesses resulting from being misinformed or, worse yet, misreading the original question just distract everyone and make it less likely that the real solution will ultimately be found.

If you know someone that can write modem firmware then it's possible. but good luck with finding someone that can do that.
I can't remember where but its on xda somewhere. Apparently 3g won't work due to different bands. I really just can't remember.

I unlocked my Dinc2 through a code from VZ. I can be on AT&T or T-Mo's network for EDGE; 3G no so much.
Hello!
I have an NTT Docomo branded Galaxy Nexus.
Wanted to use a roaming sim so I needed to unlock it.
Checked some sites and finally decided to use the service from this site:
http://samsungimeiunlock.com/
I payed around $32 for the code(depends on which carrier your handset is locked to).
I would have happily donated it to a team who can sim-unlock our phones but I did not have the time to wait since I badly needed to use my roaming sim.
I received the codes in around 8 hrs.
First time using the code worked without problems.
I am not in any way connected to the site I mentioned above.
I just want to help those who are doubting online sites that provide unlock codes.
I guarantee the one I listed above works, and again, I am not in any way connected to the site.
Hope this helps and clears some doubts.
Peace yah all and enjoy your GNs!
P.S. - I unlocked the bootloader, rooted and flashed stock Google ICS 4.0.2 (not Docomo image) prior to inputting the code. Not sure if it would matter though.
If you had unlocked your bootloader then flashed a custom ROM then their would be no need to buy an unlock code would their

1. "Unlock bootloader"
2. "Unlock sim"

I'm curious about one thing. Obviously I don't expect you to send me a copy of your unlock code, since I have a CDMA version and it won't do me any good. I'm just curious about the actual process of using it. Do you just punch in a bunch of numbers into the dialer, or what? Like what is the actual process to do this?
Turn off phone, insert foreign SIM, turn on phone, phone will ask for unlock code. 99% of GSM phones are like this.

as nxt mentioned, just insert a SIM that isn't from the network your handset is locked to.
it will ask for the unlock code after booting up.

Just bought via ebay Gnex Verizon but really need some answers here..
1. Please info if Verizon Gnex is an inject type or RUIM type? because there is microSIM slot available
2. I'm checking through adb shell using "su getprop" that the parameter
[ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha]: [Verizon]
[ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric]: [310004]
Anyone know if this mean the operator is locked? and please someone help me how to change these to match my local operator.
Thanks a lot.
really need help here...any links related or anything that sounds similar would be very much appreciated. thanks
vzw stays on vzw.
sorry you can only activate it on vzw.
I may be wrong here, but as long as your CDMA operator is willing to activate a device that is not their own (which doesn't happen at all any longer in any North American carrier), then I think it may be possible.

the carrier has to be willing to also flash/change a bunch of items on the phone itself (which they arent anymore really). to do this, you have to have a expensive piece of software ($99) to even complete the process.

on what carrier you are planing to use it? You cannot use sprint Galaxy note 4 on domestic GSM carriers like AT&T, T-mobile and their MVNOs (Straighttalk , etc). The phone can be unlocked for international GSM use (voice and 3G only, not LTE). Internationla unlock can be done officially through Sprint or unofficially via app in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...print-samsung-unlocker-unlock-sprint-t2928250
My question is how did you come across a Sprint Note 4? Did you not do your homework before acquiring the Sprint Note 4? Maybe you somehow got the phone for free? Why would somebody actually pay for a nice phone (released only a month or so ago) without knowing if it will work on a completely different network/carrier... then turn around and look for help on how to activate it on a GSM carrier? This makes no sense to me.
Im curious too.
Can a Sprint phone be unlocked and set up for use on ANY other carrier in the USA,
ie: Verizon?

I am pretty sure that if the phone had a clean ESN that you can activate it on Ting Mobile. I have also saw a thread where someone had flashed a T-Mobile Rom to the Sprint note 4 but they where not getting LTE of course I'm sure in time someone will come out with something stable.

Off topic here.
I came up for upgrade in June. I was gonna go Nexus 5 and then the Nexus 6 rumors started to fly. So I waited and along came the Note 4. After much research I ended up with arguably the best phone on the planet. Imo it is.
Unlock Code
I am in Canada, got this as xmas gift from my father in law
You can root and try Galaxy Tools 4 root users https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idone.galaxymenu
Or you can use this app from the S5 thread you don't need root with this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2928250
Hope this helps a little

1. No
2. Customers can switch devices by calling on a different phone to CS or going into store and switch devices, no unlocking necessary.
3. Just switch Sim cards and edit and tweak where necessary or pay someone if you dont know how.
4. Correct, but no unlocking necessary.
5. That depends on the person.
Thank you for your answers

Yes yes yes it can be used with other carriers in the USA. Are people forgetting about flashing of modems and firmware. What decade are we in 1960? Our maybe 1950 when phone were still two way radios. Remember sprint can't stop everything Samsung does in making their phone. Ask the right questions to right people get right answer. If someone in XDA hasn't figured it out yet just wait & keep on looking. XDA is also not the only place to look for answers to everything Samsung, sometimes Samsung is were to look or Samsung blogs. All I hear is everyone that talks about Samsung first thing everyone says is it CAN'T be done. When are the tech, crackers, & hackers of this world going to stop saying everything is impossible & realize we are the ones that make everything possible. If we are going to do that why do we become techs or crackers or hackers or even developers in the every first place?.... LET'S STOP PUTTING LIMITS ON OU OURSELVES & SHOW SPRING WHAT WE CAN DO! Sprint is not GODZ. We created what sprint & Every carrier in the world uses to try to put limitations one everyone with. Are we going to let the carriers use or phones against us or are we going to use them the way the phone manufactures wanted the phones to be used ( without restrictions of the carriers of the world.)
after unlocking your sprint device you can only use it with carriers outside the USA. If you are planning to use it with local sim cards after unlocking like at&t and t-mobile (gsm) then you cannot.

Umm if its not under payments u can
Yep once the phone is paid for per new laws that went active in Feb or March if you ask the carrier to domestic unlock your phone they are required to do it by law. Some models this will not be possible but the note 4 should. I think the carriers have a grace period to make this available. Not sure how long. I could quote the legislation but Id have to search for it.

B to the S. If you can unlock a 720t a note 4 can be unlocked!! Period!! It picks up signal just no antenna for that signal because the phone antenna is tuned in the wrong station or radius degree. I think if the people who can unlock 720t s can try the same methods with busy box or Verizon modems. Like guy said earlier " Si se puede"!! It can be done!! Just need to tweak frequency angles and remove face security options a little.
By law you can have it unlocked for a limited time, but that will not make the LTE radio magically work on your carriers band unless they support the same band. Or unless you know someone who can JTAG flash the radio to another carrier as well you will not be able to use the LTE/DATA band on a carrier that does not support the frequency. This is nothing something that can be done over USB or by a new kernel. This will have to be done with JTAG and by someone who has access to the various carriers radio firmware which is tightly guarded. So basically you will be using a Note 4 on 3G only. Might as well just sign up with SPRINT then, you will get the same service speed.
Hello xda developers
I've looked around, and I see that US990 has no threads, it's left out and no developer is supporting it. Why is that?
We (US990 owner) would like to see some support, and we're really appreciate it.
Thank you everyone for the great work you do everyday.

Many people do, but I don't think the gurus don't. So we won't get any support from them.

Hello Artnau, Sorry I don't have an answer for that. Since the phone has to be physically in the US to be unlocked, US Cellular won't unlock it remotely.
But to have an answer, maybe you can write to them on Twitter, they reply quickly, ask them whether the unlocked phones works with other US Carriers.
Best of luck
