[APP] Zooper companion app v1.25 - Zooper Widget General

Zooper companion app is my first foray into actual app development. At its heart it is a simple app that sends HEX colour codes from a colour picker to Zooper variables (#TCOL1#, #TCOL2# ... #TCOL7# & Cusom variables). These variables can then be added to the various colour changing advanced parameters in Zooper Widget modules and changed en masse through the app.
This allows to quick and easy theme changes to skins.
Integrate these variables into your own shared widgets and allow customers to theme away without you creating multiple versions of the same widgets.
With update 1.25 it now monitors Bluetooth Status under the variable #TBTSTAT#. 0 = OFF, 1 = ON, 2 = CONNECTED.

Guide:
When setting up your widgets, apply [c]#TCOL1#[/c] in the advanced parameters of the modules you would like to be the main colour.
Apply [c]#TCOL2#[/c] to all modules you would like the secondary colour, and if desired add [c]#TCOL3[/c] to any modules you would like a third highlight colour.
Then, open the zooper companion app and set those variables to the colours you want applied to those modules
You can do this for up to 7 different colour variables.
It’s as simple as that!
Can be used with the advanced parameters below:
[c][/c] – Applies to all text, rich text, rectangles, series and scalable icon set modules.
[cs][/cs] – Applies to the highlighted text in a series.
[cb][/cb] – Applies to the background of a progress bar.
[cf][/cf] – Applies to the foreground of a progress bar.
[cl][/cl] - Applies to additional colour of progress bar
Planned updates:
- Integrate popup variable shortcuts that can be launched through zooper.
Changelog:
v 1.01 - clear buttons added
v 1.12 - RGB input added, Action bar and guide added. Lower res optimised.
v 1.20 - More variables added. UI facelift.
v 1.22 - Custom variable option and Theme chooser.

My requests: Can you add more TCOL to app?
Can you add ability to save color presets and color presets manager? Can you add little preview screen?
Thank you for this app, i ♡ it.

Thanks for the suggestiongs.
My dev skills are very minimal, but I'm learning more.
I can definitely add more variables to the app, but I don't want it getting too cluttered.
As I learn more I will continue to add things to the app and your suggestions are on the list. I've already got a bit of a redesign in mind.
Cheers,

My Ace S8530i using rom Cm 7.2 r2 (Android 4.3 ) , but i can't install Zooper Widget ,Why ?

If you're asking why you can't install Zooper on your phone you're best off asking the zooper dev. Send them a support email or something.
I have nothing to do with them, I can't help you.

Version 1.20 released
Pretty big update in terms of UI. New tabbed interface.
Also added more colour variable options, up to 7.
Still working on how to integrate popup shortcuts. Once I get that figured out I might also integrate wifi toggle shortcut and some others.

Great update for me. Now I can go crazy with color combinations. Thank you!

Nice

Just an update on where I'm at. I'm having major issues trying to figure out how to launch shortcuts in the same way as MediaUtilities to set background Popup variables. Easy through tasker, not so easy through native code.
I think I'm going to put this one on hold and try other shortcuts like wifi toggle, as the popup is doing me head in.

Updated to v1.22
Update to v 1.22 released.
Changelog:
- Added ability to set custom variables
- Added color theme support. Click a button set all colors.
Let me know any good color themes to add and I'll throw them in the next update.

Updated to 1.25
Changelog:
- Auto monitoring of bluetooth under variable #TBTSTAT# 0=off 1=on 2=connected
- Hex code of colour picker selected colour copied to clipboard
- More themes added
- Press a colour in theme screen to copy hex to clipboard
- Links to my zooper companion compatible apps added to about screen.

Widgets used in video are Color Cards.
Enjoy!

Information:
Read the information within the spoiler tag and follow the tutorial before posting any questions!
I'm proud to present the Evangelion SH06D-NERV Theme. Made especially to run smooth on our ace.
This will of course work on other devices but some widgets are scaled to match our screen specifically.
See their promo commercial here: http://youtu.be/Ouf4LfIxuo8
If you saw my previous thread about discontinuing this project, that was just an excuse to get some peace
and to work on my own pace! (http://goo.gl/lYiYu)
There are a lot of steps so I'm gonna try to keep this tutorial short and simple.
One of the solution was by making a video tutorial on how to setup the widgets,
you will still have to keep on reading since the video tutorial doesn't cover all the areas.
Keep in mind that one of the apps (ADW Launcher Ex) used here is a paid app.
(Which is why I didnt made this into a rom instead)
*note* this works just as well on holo launcher (if you have overlap enabled, don't remember if it's only available on the pro verions).
Lockscreen and Widgets:
The lockscreen is animated and interactive, the same goes for most of the widgets as well.
You're able to customize what app the widget should load up by adding a "hotspot" in UCCW.
Right now the widgets are set to:
Clock: Tapping the digits will start "Alarm Clock Xtreme Free"
Calendar: the same goes for the upper part of the calendar (UNIT ALERT!). If you activated a alarm time it will be shown under "UNIT ALERT!". Tapping the date area will bring you to the native calendar app.
SD CARD: Brings you to Samsungs "Task Manager"
Battery: none set
User phone no: none set
Weather: tapping the lower part of the widget brings you to the native CM7 "News and Weather" app.
CPU: The CPU widget actually shows the current battery, temperature and week of the year. Tapping it will open up the SetCPU app.
Volume bars: Send you to the app where you're able to change the volume. Try putting the volume down using the volume rockers and see the bars move.
Tutorial:
1. Download all the zip files down below and install the APKs from
the "APK_Modified_NBT". The Wifi Toggle widget is optional.
2. Import all the widgets themes from "UCCW_THEMES" folder to UCCW,
press the setting buttons for more options.
Open up Minimalistic Text and import the respective theme, "SD.STORAGE".
2.5. I added the Google Search Bar as a UCCW theme, download it from the second post and import it as well.
(skip this step)
3. And the reason why we're going to apply the CM7 Theme "MIUI4_NBT" afterwards
is because of the bug that it brings us. You're unable to read the folder names in UCCW after applying
the MIUI4 Theme. Apply the CM7 theme by opening the theme app and chose "Apply" -> "Apply anyway".
(CM9 Users: Link)
4.ADW Launcher Ex settings:
Use 4x4 grid on your launcher. UI settings -> Screen preference -> Desktop Columns/Rows (set to 4 on both).
On the same page, disable "Show desktop indicator", enable "overlap widgets"
Change your dock, Themes Preference -> Main dock (choose).
Reflections, UI settings-> Main dock -> Enable Dock (it should be on), on the same page, Reflections (on)
Transistion, General Behavior -> Animation effect -> Screen transition effect -> Zoom.
On the same page Desktop scrolling speed 200<450, desktop bounce 0
Wallpaper scrollning should be on (disable if you experience lagg when swiping through pages).
5. Follow the video instructions that put I together:
http://youtu.be/EvuBHD49qw4
6. Open up MiLocker and apply the theme "NERV_ONLY_NBT"
I put another alternative if you have Widgetlocker, it's more lightweight and smoother.
7. Show your appreciation by giving feed back!

Tips/review:
If you for some reason find it slow, try disable the wallpaper scrolling, using governors (smartassv2 in general).
If that doesn't work try using a RAM script, eg. v6 Supercharger.

You should be able to use this theme without any lagg, post in this thread to seek solutions.

I think it is because UCCW has no anti-aliasing option
I'm doing all of this as we speak on my OV One question though, what font are you using in the screenshots?
EDIT: AudioManager was causing MAJOR lag on my phone, is that normal? If so, is there another way to use a similar volume app/skin for the volume widget?

The widget is pretty light itself, so i wonder why the lagg? Does it at least look good when scaled on your screen? I could make a widget using tokaplot instead, but you're gonna get this kind of graphic, i will remove the text and make it look cleaner than the screenshots found on the play store.
The font your probably refering to is "bebas_neue". You will easily find it with a google search.
There is like 3 other font used as well x)
Hey you finally did it! Kudos!

Hmm, good idea, but so little changes, compairing to CM 10. Themes don't work at all.
You have many things to improve. A good idea is to borrow some resources from Avatar ROM, which is made better in theming part.

We already have Sense 5 People on CM obviously don't want Sense 5
Hi,
The comments...
There is always some guys using CM/AOSP rom (for the different features) but they want the Sense 5 look... Weird I agree but that exists..., it's like with Touchwiz, a few people want CM/AOSP but with Touchwiz look (it reminds me of the time with my SIII)...
I am not one of those people but the tastes and colors are subjectives...
It's just my opinion, nice to have this kind of theme plus it's not just a launcher theme like for Nova/Apex it's a full theme so the work is here and we should appreciate it even if this not our likes...

[APP][ROOT REQ][v1.2][2014/05/09] System Status App for Gustavo_s Kernel

SystemStatus App
For Gustavo_s Kernel
Description:This app retrieves the same information as the custom kernel's systemstatus command and displays it in the app's main screen.
Additionally, some or all of the same information can be displayed in a system overlay area, making it available when the app is in the background (that is, while it is still in the Recent Apps list).
Requirements:This app currently requires:
Gustavo_s kernel; and
a rooted phone (which the kernel will do for you. )
Features:Manual and Automatic Status Refresh
The information screen can be manually refreshed using the ActionBar button.
Additionally, an automatic refresh delay can be specified. The default for this delay can be set in the settings/preferences. The value entered on the main screen will be used for the current session and will revert to the set default when the app is restarted.
Automatic refresh can be configured to start immediately on app startup.
System Overlay
The other ActionBar button toggles the display of the overlay service. This service will place a view of the system status information over the top of all other items on the screen. The overlay is totally touch transparent in that it will not respond to any touch operations and will not interfere with any interactions with widgets, apps or notifications on the screen.
The information displayed in the overlay is controlled by the checkboxes in the main screen. Items with a tick will be displayed in the overlay. And, yes, it is possible to remove all the fields. But why?
Additionally, the following preferences are available for the overlay:
position on the screen can be set to one of 8 positions. The default is 'Top/Left'.
font size can be set to one of 5 sizes.
field labels can be left or right justified.
field values can be left or right justified.
background opacity (i.e. how much it obscures the background items) can be set to one of 4 values: None (transparent, the default), 20%, 50% and 80%. Black is currently the only background color.
the display service can be launched automatically on app startup, similar to the auto-refesh functionality. In fact, they work well together. :highfive:

Stop occasional double SU check.
Overlay Timer suspends when screen is off in order to preserve battery.
Add 'Exit' command to menu. This is a simpler way to stop both the app and the overlay service.
Code refactoring (non-visible change)

Changes from 1.0b8:
Data retrieval is now fully independent of the systemcat command.

it's working great thanks for your awesome work!
a tip for people using other kernels:
in the next updates, if your kernel has these files the app will work:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/UV_mV_table
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpu_utilization
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online
/sys/devices/platform/s5p-tmu/temperature
/sys/module/mali/parameters/mali_gpu_clk
/sys/module/mali/parameters/mali_gpu_vol
/sys/module/mali/parameters/mali_dvfs_utilization
/proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail

Yeah. The next version will work. The 1.0b8 version still needs your systemcat command.
But ... Real Soon Now! (tm)

Thank you for this. The app is nice but needs a little improvement. The real-time status display is inconsistent, what i mean by that is,the display stops for some reasons. Thanks though,i love the app!

When you say "stops" do you mean:
the numbers no longer change?
the overlay disappears?
you get an FC or ANR?
something else?
(I suspect it's the 2nd one, but I need to make sure.)
Thanks though,i love the app!

Glad to hear it.
New release
New release in OP. Enjoy! :highfive:
Yes the overlay disappears. Will tru the new update now.
I believe it disappears because it is automatically being killed from the memory.

Yep! As well as it can. Here's an example of the app running on Stock JB w/ PhilZ.
Some fields are unavailable but it will find what values it can.

That's probably right. The new version should stop that. As a foreground service it will have a higher priority.
The overlay is working fine now.
I can now monitor my phone's behavior upon choosing the right governor and i/o scheduler. Thanks for this app.

Do you mind helping with the translation? I don't have the language skills to do that myself and I don't trust online translation to do it right.
If you are willing to help, I can provide you with either the original English text strings or the Portuguese translations, whichever would be easier for you to work with.
New release
New Release (v1.2) in OP.
Ignore wrong thread.
I feel as though I am asking a really dumb question.
I see no links to a kernel package in the opening post. Has it been temporarily removed or am I supposed to build it myself?

New Features:
- Clock & Weather widget - Our main new feature, as many of you have already seen on pictures from events such as the MWC, we now have a new widget, which will not be replacing the old one. This widget allows you to access clock app by taping on clock part of it on the left, whilst tapping on the weather on the left will take you to our weather app. This widget supports only the current location at the moment.
- No network connection toast - We are now displaying a toast notifying the users of lack of network connection when trying to update weather data
Bug fixes:
- Fixed missing shadow text on weather widget
- Fixed navigation drawer overstretching in multi-window mode
- Inability to find current location was fixed by adapting to new AccuWeather API
- Removed crash that occurred in multi-user mode when switching from guest to owner
- Weather widget contrast was adjusted to display better in snowy weather
- Fixed situations where multiple instances of location permission dialog were displayed
- Removed crash that occurred in multi-window mode after entering the app from the widget
- Fixed screen overlap when keyboard is extended
- Fixed screen turning white and empty when entering search location window
- Fixed text cut off on weather widget in landscape mode
- Fixed UI mess in some languages that were caused due to minus sign being incorrectly localized to languages in question
- Added explanation why some text is in English despite another language being selected in cases where localized text is not available

This new Clock & Weather widget is useless for me because is location based and can't add manual location
Sent from my D5803 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Dev, please make weather widget to work without location use also by just entering the city name to save battery power.
