Hello
I just want to know if any devs or experienced modders here can mod the stock SMS app in 4.4 so it allows for the following features:
Able to send long texts without it converting to a MMS.
Emoji support.
I would like to update to 4.4 with either Cyanogenmod or another 4.4 ROM I'm currently running 4.3.1 and have a modded SMS that has the ability to do what is listed but isn't compatable past 4.3.1, this would be great if there was a modded version which is compatible with 4.4.x but without the lack of this one specific mod I will hold back.

Issues
"Service not available" displayed when trying to retrieve or send pictures messages. This is seemingly random. A fresh install can either produce this problem, or not. No known solution, as it's not consistent. Though, it's rare to happen.

Initial release
Great work I will be looking into porting this with a different mms apk to att.
Sent from my SGH-I747 running TMS3KK 2.0
This is for touchwiz 4.4.2.
For developers wanting to add this to their ROMs feel free. Give credit to the people I did though and not me. All I did was refind my favorite mms.apk and use Kryten2k35's files with both of their permission. If you experience the bug just reflash the zip.
Instructions
1. Download the zip
2. Flash in recovery
3. This will take care of everything for you and wipe your messages as well as make a backup on your sdcard shall you want to return to stock.

Bugs
"Service not available" when retrieving or sending picture messages. This seems to be random. With a fresh install it will either produce the problem or it won't. This is the best solution I have for this rare bug.
If messages aren't sending or even appearing when you send them go into settings > more > set "messaging" as default app.

I am sharing this link to the new Google apps taken from the latest Android Lollipop preview ROM.

I try Gmail and Calendar on my rooted Touchwiz based KK 4.4.2 rom, they work flawlessly.
I love them, especially the new Gmail that supports other emails. Now I can get rid of the stock Email app.
Credit to @USAN03, the OP of the thread. And, I am not responsible for any bad things caused by installing those apps

Could you give us quick tutorial how you made it work ? On my KK 4.4.2 rom it won't install when I put apks in priv-apps. I'm on Blekota 7.0.
Thanks.
I just installed them like normal APKs, over the existing versions, then rebooted. Just checked, both APK files are now in /data/app/.
I'm on QS-i9300-KK v2.8+ rom. Gmail and Calendar work fine.
